Path Redeemed: A small town Christian romance

Rate this book
Caleb Whitcrest is tall, unshakable, ridiculously handsome… and my boss.

He’s a former Army K-9 handler and hometown veterinarian who is loved by everyone.
I’m the animal-loving Irish lady with an expiration date in the States.

I came to Haven Point for a short-term dream job—certainly not for romance.

But then came our laughter, our shared faith, and the making of perfect memories.

He planned to stay a bachelor.
I planned a life back in Ireland.
Neither of us planned for more than friendship.

When my visa expires, I’m forced to leave - permanently.

The goodbye breaks my heart.

I try to let the memories go.
Then he shows up on my doorstep- in Ireland.

Now we’re standing at the edge of everything, but no way to be together.
Because if God doesn’t rewrite this story, we’ll lose the one thing we never expected to find— true love.

Sometimes the path forward… is the one He redeems.

Perfect for readers who love clean romance with Christian themes and inspiration. This is Book 4 in the Haven Point series, creating small-town Happily Ever Afters. The books are connected but can be read in any order.

Path Redeemed is the first book I’ve read by Grace Jordan, but it won’t be the last! I really like her writing style and how she weaves a story. Her story drew me in from the beginning and kept my attention throughout this wonderful story. Isla’s mom and Gran passed away and her father didn’t know what to do with a young girl. He was a sales consultant and was constantly traveling to other cities and countries for his job. She was welcomed at the home of the Kelly’s and thrived there. Their daughter Saoirse became not only her friend but considered Isla as her sister. Although the Kelly’s were more than happy to have Isla, she knew she needed to be known as someone who was useful. Sometimes young children really don’t know how to express themselves or their feelings, as was the case with Isla. She and Saoirse were close and loved each other very much. They considered themselves sisters. Unfortunately, Saoirse had Retinitis pigmentosa, a very rare disease that would leave her blind. They were able to get her a guide dog which was a lifesaver for Saoirse but also led Isla to wanting to become a veterinarian. “I’ll take care of animals. I’ll be a veterinarian, and I’ll have my animal family. Then I won’t be alone.” In my opinion, children shouldn’t have to worry about their future or who will be their family, but after 41 years of teaching, it happens way more than anyone realizes.
Caleb and his German Shepherd, Strider live in Haven Point, Maine. Caleb is a Veterinarian and is set to take over the clinic after Dr. Cross retires. Dr. Cross informs Caleb of Dr. Isla Brennock, who will be arriving soon. Her plans are to stay at least twelve months and hopefully to get a permanent VISA.
Caleb and Isla work well together and enjoy working together. Isla enjoys decorating the clinic for holidays and making it feel more welcoming. She’s very outgoing and enjoys her job, although she’s worried about her VISA, she really loves being in Maine and wants to remain in the United States. Getting her permanent VISA may be problematic.
Caleb not only welcomes her to the clinic but also includes her on outings with friends and family. They both enjoy outside activities and hiking. His family loves Isla and his mom, is of course, hoping for more than just a working relationship…don’t most moms want this for their children.
The two of them like each other more than just friends, but neither of them has expressed their feelings. They are so naïve, their family and friends notice the attraction between the two of them and even comment on it.
Isla receives news that her VISA has been denied, and she’ll be heading back home in a short while. Will she be able to get things worked out? Will Caleb and Isla recognize the attraction between the two of them is more than just friends? If Isla is unable to get her VISA worked out, what will that mean for the two of them? Do not miss this wonderful story of friendship, a wonderful work relationship, drama, the unexpected, and more

I received an ARC copy from the author and though I wasn’t required to post a review, I wanted to offer my honest, voluntary impression after reading it.

This is a wonderful series and I have been blessed to have read every one! They mix faith with hometown values, no spice only good clean writing which warms the heart as the situations each couple faces in this series are very true to life events I’m sure real people have experienced!

Isla is on a temporary visa to gain an education in veterinary science so if she can’t remain in the states, she can use that knowledge back in Ireland her home country.

Caleb wasn’t looking for a future wife when Isla arrived at the clinic he is working in and will take over when the owner retires; however, when Isla walks in the door things start to change. Isla isn’t looking for romance either because if she doesn’t get the permanent visa she’ll be leaving the country for good.

Both find many interests in each other that they both share and after a couple of extended hikes they know things are not what they were expecting originally. However, the day the news of her visa situation arrives devastates them both. Isla leaves and Caleb is forced to confront what he’s going to do about it!

I wholeheartedly and enthusiastically recommend you pick up this book and while you’re at it, why not get the other three books as well! Each book actually deals with siblings of one family who find their happily ever after with someone who moves to their town for work or personal reasons.

Each story will touch your heart as it did mine I’m
sure as you read these true to life scenarios where you can picture in your mind exactly what is transpiring on the pages you read!

Grace’s wiring is compelling and the characters are unforgettable! They will easily become your friends as they have mine!

You’ll be glad you got this book and if you haven’t read the others please consider doing so!

"Path Redeemed" by Grace Jordan is a heartwarming Christian romance set in coastal Maine, exploring themes of faith, healing, and new beginnings. This tender and uplifting story centers on two characters, Isla Brennock and Caleb Whitcrest, who find unexpected hope in each other despite their deep personal histories.

Isla, a spirited Irish veterinarian, arrives in Haven Point for a fresh start, while Caleb, a former Army K-9 handler, is a small-town vet with a guarded heart. Their professional partnership at the local clinic evolves into a deeper connection, nurtured by humour, trust, and a shared love for animals. The novel skillfully intertwines romance and faith, balancing moments of laughter—like Isla's memorable "shamrock dog food" prank—with sincere struggles related to identity, belonging, and God's plan.

The small-town setting is vividly portrayed, from charming cottages adorned with flower boxes to warm Sunday dinners with Caleb’s close-knit family, creating a comforting and homey atmosphere. Jordan also enriches the narrative with detailed insights into veterinary practice and animal care, adding depth and realism.

At its core, "Path Redeemed" is a story about discovering family—whether by blood, faith, or choice—and learning to trust in love again after heartbreak. Fans of Christian romance who appreciate strong community bonds, animal companionship, and gentle humour will find this novel to be a truly delightful read.

Try it.

Is a sweet small town, ex military, meet cute, work place, Christian romance with no cliffhanger.
Some of the lines I really like --- "You're precious, Isla. Not because of what you own. Because of who you are." --- "Sometimes the best things happen when we're not planning them," --- "See how all the branches reach out evenly? It's like it's ready to give the best hugs. That's definitely a happy tree." --- "That loyalty, that willingness to carry each other. True friendship in the face of impossible odds," --- "It's like God painted hope in the water," --- "when we ask, God promises to give us wisdom. God has specific plans for you. He promises he will make the path known. Maybe it wasn’t the right time for a reason we’ll never understand.” --- "when we ask, God promises to give us wisdom. God has specific plans for you. He promises he will make the path known. Maybe it wasn’t the right time for a reason we’ll never understand.” --- What's Saoirse up to? What's Rebecca up to? What's Cynthia up to? What's Caleb's brothers up to? These and other questions will all be answered.
I loved Isla and Caleb's story and I'm sure you will too. I've loved everyone of her books that I've read and I can't wait to read her next book.

Another beautiful story from Grace Jordan. I read book 1 in this series a few weeks ago and then was given the privilege to read the ARC of book 4. I am typically a stickler for reading series in order, but I can say that each of these work well as stand alone reads. I am now going to jump back and read books 2 & 3.

Like the first book in this series, Path Redeemed is more than just a romance. There is a strong faith element, as well as personal growth and with one character personal healing from a past experience. I guess it would be considered slow burn, but the attraction is there early on. It just takes a while for them to accept and act on it.

I love the descriptions of their time together and with friends.. especially their hiking adventures. Animals play a big role in this story, which is always fun. It was also delightful to see "America" through Isla's eyes.

This is a sweet warm and cozy read.. a visit with old friends in a quaint small town where community is more like family and love is the strongest emotion.

I love all things Grace Jordan, and this does not disappoint; this is part of The Haven Point Series! Caleb Whitcrest is a former K-9 handler, and is a veterinarian in Haven Point Maine. He could use another vet. and hires Isla Brennock; an animal loving Irish lady. She is in the United States on a twelve month post graduate visa, at the end of those twelve months; if she is not picked in a random lottery she will be sent back to Ireland. Caleb and Isla get along extremely will, and work well together; Isla has a cat and a dog they both love adventures. Both Caleb and Isla love all animals of course, the outdoors, hiking, family , and their faith. Caleb introduces Isla to his family, and they spend the holidays together and she fits right in. Does Isla get to stay in the United States, or is she sent back to Ireland? Love the plot, great setting, and strong intense interesting characters. I look forward to reading more from Ms. Grace Jordan!!!

Isla arrives at Haven Point for a veterinarian job. This is a place where she feels like home. Isla and Caleb are great colleagues, friends. They're sweet, compatible, attractive and they have a great sense of humor. As Isla's work is temporary in USA, they both try to tamper down their romantic yearning not knowing other's feelings. It is a long road for them to be together.
In this book there are some seasonal celebrations, traveling, including, international. Welcoming, supportive families, also adorable, well behaved pets play important roles.

I loved Isla - she was funny, sweet and gorgeous all round.
Caleb was a little slow to move, but once he was in, he was in.

I found that this one was definitely a little more, in regards to religious tones. They fit the story, to a point, but there was a stage, where it felt like almost every conversation contained it.
Not the end of the world, but if you don’t like seeing it, then this is not the book for you.

A lovely read, sweet, and a nice little escape.

After reading this book, I was so touched by the story that I immediately went to purchase the first two books in this series. I don't know where my mind was that I hadn't done this after reading book 3. Now it is done and diarised.
From the moment Isla skipped onto the pages (well that's what I felt anyway), she was a delight to all those she encountered. God's light she shared willingly with others. Caleb is her ideal partner and yes, God's timing is always perfect.

Caleb Whitcrest is a former Army K-9 handler and is now the town’s vet who obviously loves animals.

Isla Brennock is from Ireland and came to America to train as a vet. She comes to Haven Point to work and hopes to get a permanent visa.

Caleb and Isla work well together. They did not expect romance.

This book explores themes of faith, healing, and new beginnings.

This is a lovely story with a strong Christian theme. I enjoyed this book.

This is a wonderful romance novel with amazing characters that will make you feel like you are right there and you want to meet them. A storyline that is realistic and has a few challenges along the way. While this is a Christian novel, it is not overbearing. Fun to read.

This is a sweet and clean Christian love story about Caleb and Isla two veterinarians not looking for love but who God puts together for the perfect timing. The book was quick paced and enjoyable. I would have liked to see more of the romance between the two, more love and connection but it was enjoyable.

The story of Caleb and Isla was such a poignant story, I soaked in every line. The God truths and verses were exactly what I needed in this season. I’ll finish with this quote: “In a castle where fairy tales seem possible, could there be a fairy tale ending for me?”

Oh, nothing like having your dream job, veterinarian, and a dream man, boss and fellow vet, Caleb, but this is Isla’s situation. Oh, one more thing, she’s from Ireland and her visa will expire unless she can win one of the extensions and permanent residency. Will she or won’t she get that extension. This was a fun book to read and Caleb and Isla are a couple you find yourself cheering for them
