Necromancy the Callback: A Humorous Supernatural Mystery with Sweet Romance

Rate this book

ACT CeCe LeBlanc has three things on her summer to-do 1- hang out with Portia, 2- squeeze in stealth kissy face time with Zach, and 3- rock the guitar in the Voodoo Bayou quintet. But lingering PTSD and a gruesome murder crash her three-month freedom-from-school tour, and she adds to her list 4- help her dad solve the case.

ACT Cue the rogue Rougarou—a Louisiana werewolf—who ditches hunting in the bayou to leave bodies scattered through the French Quarter. And the hairy monster’s “you’re next” vibes are directed squarely at CeCe. Suddenly, her summer to-do list looks less 1, 2, 3, and more please don’t eat me.

In the wings, another threat awaits. Chanting strangers whose melody chases CeCe. She doesn’t know what they want, but Magic 8 ball says, “Outlook not so good.” And just when she needs him most, CeCe discovers Zach hides a dangerous secret.

ACT As the threats close in from all sides, CeCe juggles monster hunting, murder-solving, and quintet rehearsals. But the clues are simmering slower than a good gumbo, and the final act is fast approaching. She needs to help her dad crack the case and avoid becoming a werewolf snack, all before the final curtain falls.

She’s ready to cross this mystery off the callback list—if she survives long enough for an encore.

Debbie Hibbert is an author, lover of chocolate, and finder of weird things. What kind of weird things, you might ask? There was that one time with the mysterious chimes. The porcelain doll in the woods. The plastic flamingo in the trees. The Hell gates…yes, plural.

When not writing, Debbie likes to explore old graveyards, drink Diet Dr. Pepper, and solve mysteries with her dogs, Sherlock and Watson. She also likes the beach. Sunny days. Blue skies. Toes in the sand… You get the idea.

She’s a Texas transplant that resides in Houston. In a hurricane, during the apocalypse, or through an extended reading of bad jokes on Twitter, she would choose her resourceful hubby and talented offspring to guarantee survival.

It is amazing to me that when finishing this book I was not sure if I was ok? the writing sucks you right in on this series. every word is well crafted, every character is masterly written. You go through so much with these characters that you feel so connected to each heartbreak they go through. that being said........ this book needs time out and here are it's charges

1 count bad parenting and one count of bad grandparenting

5 counts of bad decisions - I really got tired of counting how many times I wanted to yell at these characters.......

10 counts of for Zula, By the end of this book I was thinking this was a war cry for stupidity.... it is like freedom in braveheart and To wanda in fried green tomatoes....... nothing good starts with for Zula.

1 count of too mature couple- I mean wow I know you can be mature but this was crazy.....

I want to give time out for black magic but it was such an important message about addiction that I can't do it. I loved the message of reaching out for help and being responsible for your addiction.

and finally 1 count of putting a character in time out for 7 years....... I mean that is my job to put characters and books in time out.....

all and all I loved this book, I love this series, it has won awards for great reasons, one of the is that I am not alone and finding this book great!!!!! it is one of my top reads for the year and would go on my top list for this publishing company!!!!!

Necromancy the Callback is mysterious and captivating! Hibbert deftly blends elements of teenage romance, drama, and suspense in this supernatural thriller. Her unique voice, an unforgettable setting, and heart-stopping moments – not to mention necromancy, black magic, voodoo, and the Rougarou! – will have you turning pages well into the night. A must-read this Halloween!
