There was something about Anwarsome kind of pull that made refusing him feel impossible. And right now, I was caught in it.
"I dont get it. Why? Does it feel good?" "Huh?" "Does it feel good to talk to multiple people, to have sex with them?" "Why are you asking?" ... "If you really want to know how it feels, do you want to try it?"
I love that even though we see how hard and messy it can turn out to be to have a bedfriend kinda thing with someone, Anwar always wanted it to be consensual and soft for Blue. To be honest, sometimes I wanted to punch him because I was stressed seeing him being so oblivious to his feelings, but at the same time, as someone who has never been in love, I felt a little related, so I ended up understanding him. I loved seeing Blue always putting his feelings first, always communicating, always putting limits and standing up, shows how sometimes when you are in love you cede not because you are less or do not know how to stand by your principles, but because you truly love the other person and want them to feel comfortable, warm and like they can rely on you. This book wasn’t something spectacular in terms of writing or innovation. Their peak was that it felt real, like it could happen to anyone in life. The problems the protagonists were through felt like real life experiences and I liked that.
Pds. It had some spicy, I'm not a real fan of that. It depends on my mood, but I have to confess I enjoyed these a lot. It might not be your thing, but it was mine for this book.
"I'm losing my mind just because I wanna love you, but I don't know how."
Idiots in love.
Blue escapes to New York City after fighting with his dad and discovering his long term boyfriend, Peem, has been cheating on him. There he comes across Anwar, a mysterious and dangerously handsome man who immediately catches Blue's eye. While trying to gather the courage to break out of his toxic relationship, he falls into something even more intoxicating. A casual hookup with that same dangerously handsome man who just so also happens to be his housemate. As Blue learns the realities of entering relationship types he doesn't understand, he also learns that maybe what he felt for Peem wasn't really love.
Unknown Lover (2022) is an angsty, friends with benefits to lovers, romance that will leave you hooked until the final page. From the budding romance to the overwhelming emotional devastation, you'll either be screaming into your pillow or squealing into it. If you enjoy spice with plot, then this will be a nice read. Expect romance, found family, and healing as Blue and Anwar go on their journey to finding themselves...and each other.
gu ja crazy.. all i could think when reading this was there's no way they're making this into a series forreal like how would it even work.. we will see
