Forty-eight year old Samantha is stunned when she hears about her friend Arnelle having an affair. Her shock only grows when she learns that a lot of younger guys seek out older women.
And then one starts to seek her out.
Jalen's huge, ripped and determined to...seek her out.
And then her husband, Chris, leaves town.
What's a girl to do?
The Good Wives Cheating Club is a series of loosely connected stories about mature women rediscovering desire with men that aren't their husbands. A lighthearted approach to cheating stories with guaranteed HEA.
Especially for as short as it is. (More about that later.) It’s told in a way that you really can feel that you know our main characters. That’s somewhat unusual in shorter stories. But it definitely makes you have emotional connection with them.
Don’t get me wrong, there’s more than enough sex, but it’s used to tell some of the story. Not gratuitous sex, but sex that belongs.
Even if you’re not into hotwife/cuckold (h/c) stories, I think you could enjoy this one.
Basically and not really giving anything away, it’s a couple in their 40s and she’s not getting enough sex. So one of her best friends tells her that she’s got a lover on the side and her husband is fine with it. This of course gets the ball rolling and….
NOW I’LL START DISCUSSING POINTS THAT SOME MAY NOT WANT TO HEAR UNTIL AFTER THEY READ IT THEMSELVES.
ONE OTHER POINT IF YOU’RE GOING TO READ IT. AT THE END THE AUTHOR WRITES “TO BE CONTINUED”
SO GO GET THIS BOOK AND START IF THAT’S YOUR GAME. THEN COME BACK AND SEE WHAT YOU THINK ABOUT THE REST OF WHAT I WRITE.
I like that it’s not a straight forward h/c story. She gets the ball rolling by cheating on him. Her guilt makes her decide that she has to be truthful and so she tells her husband.
That brings about one of my pet peeves about h/c stories. The husband is almost always ready to be a cuckold when the opportunity presents itself.
The author wrote nicely about the path that the wife took to get into the situation. Why can’t it take some time for the husband to get to that point.
It almost happened when before the cheating happened, the wife’s friend suggests to get the husband all excited and keep him there with her hand while she starts talking about how thrilling it could be for both of them if she were to bring in another man. But that never happens.
Now I need to say that I’m very happy that this story will be continued. There’s a lot more that I want to know about the wife. To me she shows features not conducive to a relationship, besides her cheating.
When she was first going to try and get her husband to agree with her having a lover, she completely forgot that he had a ball game and wouldn’t be home. Then she forgets that he’s going on a 3 day fishing trip with friends.
I mean come on, are you so tied up with yourself that you can’t remember your husband going out of town?
Then she complains that he hasn’t done her face in 20 years. Also that he can’t touch her the way her lover is. Has she told him that she’d like any of that?
She allows her lover to video their tryst. Now if he wants to, he can blast that all over the internet. Smart
All the time that she is trying to tell him about what she did, both before and after he admits that it excites him, he’s very consoling to her.
Then after it’s all out, she doesn’t have the guts to tell her husband that she wants to do it again. No she waits and waits till the cuckold in him somehow drives him to tell her that he wants it. “then wanting him to do the work of figuring out how to ask for it.”
She cheats and still can’t be upfront with him.
But then the ultimate. She tells her friends all about it, including that her husband is a cuckold. All of this without any discussion with her husband first. He’s been so supportive of her needs, not only because they are also his needs.
He’s so supportive that before she discusses with him, she pays him back by spreading it around that she’s married to a cuckold.
Can I say that he’s not married to a class act.
No, as you can see, I have too many negatives about her, I need more story to help me sort this out.
But damn, it was a lot of fun reading this book. Please get the next book out as quickly as possible.
This is the first of a series of (so far) three books about cheating wives.
Mr Lenov outdoes himself with his characterizations, The main characters are women who meet regularly and have known each other for years. Most are in their upper forties.
This particular book centers on a married couple, Samantha and Chris. Samantha is forty nine and she’s a Yoga instructor. Chris is a High School Phys Ed teacher (and coach). They have been married for nineteen years and have two kids. Neither kids are named, and neither are still living at home. Samantha is now adjusting to ‘empty nest’ syndrome. They have an active sex life but neither are as active as they would like. Chris, like every man at fifty his mild ED issues. Their sex life is excellent for their age and for the length of time they’ve been together.
The characters are all from a group of ladies who abhor gossip. So they started meeting for breakfast once a month, to eat and talk. Originally the purpose is to dispel rumors they hear. They nicknamed it the 'no lies' club. The rule is 'absolute truth.
It all starts when one of them, Arnell, begins having an affair. She cannot lie. Even by omission, that would still be a lie. Arnell has a husband who is very busy in work projects and admittedly neglects her. When confronted, he gave her permission to ‘look elsewhere’,.. and she did. The book starts when she confesses her success in this activity to the rest of the group.
This series, if book one is good to judge by, is going to be outstanding. The humor is superb. I love the dialogue. It’s warm, friendly, smart, and funny.
Be aware,.. while this is not a comedy,.. you need to take care about where you choose to read it. This is like being around your twisted Uncle Harry,.. you will laugh. It will be sudden, no warning, Snort-milk-thru-your-nose,... funny. Mr Lenov's sense of humor is on steroids when you least expect it. Mark My Words,... You will Laugh out loud.
THAT is what I think of the dialogue
This entire premise is based on some biological facts. Most of us, as we age, aren’t spending as much time as we would like with our spouses. The excitement is a lot dimmer. The women’s libido’s have increased as they approach menopause. The men, have ED issues. One spouses hunger is greater, the other’s capacity is diminished. If not in actuality, in ability. Mother nature is a fickle bitch. The equation is unbalanced and there's no escaping it.
The solution,.. and most swingers have realized this,.. The husband can get as excited by watching another man service the wife, as he would be, by doing her himself. Swingers solve it by watching her serviced, and after guests have a turn, hubby reclaims her. This has everybody fully satisfied.
At the risk of spoilers, that’s the underlying premise Mr Lenov uses to approach these characters. It’s beautifully done. I bought the second and third (not released yet) volumes before I finished the first one.
Mr Lenov, while one of my favorite writers, is not always the most realistic. In my opinion, he's somewhat inconsistent. His characters and story aren't as dependable as his heat. And then, there's Hot Wife's Journey (cheater, voyeur. airtight). orrr Trio of Richards. Both series are probably the best I've ever read on this topic. When Mr Lenov is on his game,.. he's amazing!
This one fires on all cylinders!!
This set of books are sectioned as individual books, but, in truth, they’re all one volume. This was an easy five stars. (I would give it ten, the dialogue alone is worth the extra credit), Not to mention the completely awesome heat.
I enjoyed this light read. It is very well written and the characters are pleasant and understanding/understandable. In this instalment of this 3 book series, faithful wife Samantha cheats on her oblivious husband and tells him about it when he gets home.
There are some classic lines that make this book enjoyable:
Friend Arnelle gets the ball rolling by telling her friends that she’s having an affair with the consent of her husband. Lead character Samantha (Sam) asks her about it once Sam has been approached. Arnelle recommends openness. Sam responds: “I’m not telling Chris I want to bang another guy!” Arnelle leaned back in her chair and smiled. “Gonna do it the old fashioned way, huh?” she asked, then snickered.
Sam’s potential lover is … you decide: “Everything about him was merely a support structure to that breeding organ. That seeding muscle.” 😂
Once Sam tells her husband, he’s pretty calm about it: ““ … I guess I could get mad. Or I could just skip that part and we could start figuring this out.” 😂🤣😂
This book is primarily seduction and angst before the deed. The BBC comes across as genuine/eager. Sam is surprised and intrigued. The lover is cool and connected. And the husband is invigorated and curious.
So a good story at about 120 pages. The following two books, (not yet published - they’re available for preorder), are about the same length. They each deal with a different friend of Arnelle’s and Sam’s.
While I like this story, there are a lot of shortcomings.
1. no story outside of the seduction.
2. there’s no follow-on with what happens after: is it a one time thing, start of an ongoing lover, or is it lovers, does husband get to play, … .
3. we never know what the husband really thinks beyond that he wants to see.
As a short story or novella, I’d rate this as 5 Stars. As a novel, I’d give it a 4.
On my short story scale, 5 well written/likeable Stars. I’m not certain I’ll read the follow-on books because I’m looking for more story beyond a seduction/tryst these days.
Arnelle shocks the girls at brunch by telling them she's having an affair—and with her husband's consent.
Samantha can't stop thinking about what Arnelle has told them: how great it is to get pounded by a young black stud in a cheap motel room where they meet solely for sex.
So what happens when Samantha, at her yoga instruction job, meets a student fitting that description who's obviously taken by her?
She can't bring herself to raise the subject with her husband. When the opportunity presents itself she just goes for it, and only then begins to grapple with the implications.
