David Butler's greatest love is people. He had adopted as a life motto: "Stuff no mattah, people mattah." His favorite people are his wife, Jenny, and their six darling children. Some of his other loves include good food, spontaneous adventures, Christmas morning, and the sea. David cohosts the popular YouTube scripture study channel Don't Miss This with Emily Belle Freeman and is the author of many religious books, including Ites: An Illustrated Guide to the People in the Book of Mormon; The Peter Potential; and Almighty: How the Most Powerful Being in the Universe Is Also Your Loving Father. We used this for our scripture study each day and the kids really looked forward to reading it! We also used the activities in family night with older siblings. The younger ones enjoyed sharing what they learned with the family through the activities. The favorites were Nephi's family and Captain Moroni. The final page is Jesus Christ. What a beautiful way to end! There is also a commitment of living an aspect of the gospel on each page. Loved that!
I really enjoyed this guide to the various peoples and prophets in the Book of Mormon. It is beautifully illustrated and organized in an easy-to-read, easy-to-understand format. I read much of this book to my g'little who really enjoyed the history of the prophet and the activities that are interspersed in each account. The activities help make the lessons to become more current and understandable for younger children.
Whether for the individual who needs some assistance keeping all of the Ites straight, parents who want to give their children a foundation of a Book of Mormon characters, or a person teaching in the Church, this wonderfully illustrated book personalizes and humanizes. It’s terrific!
An excellent book for children (and adults, too!) becoming acquainted with the events and peoples of the Book of Mormon. The illustrations are delightful and the written content is excellent. Highly recommended for families.
