If you love athletes then this is the box set for you. Heck, even if you don't you will find a lot to enjoy as a romance reader in this box set. Each author gives you a fabulously sexy romance that also gives insight into that sport from a variety of angels. Really enjoyed this box set for the diversity, romance and sexiness!
Play With Me (Tee, Marian): I loved Lace, she is a tomboy who is more comfortable in sweats coaching a basketball team then in a dress or on a date. When she has to be in a wedding, she is partnered with Silver which wakes up parts of her she really didn't think were there. Silver is confident, cocky and arrogant but when he is around Lace he becomes the sweetest guy ever. He chases without pushing as Lace works to establish herself as a basketball coach. Their spark and chemistry is fabulous along with the sexiness you expect from Marian Tee.
Playing Games (Rhodes, Liliana): Cassie is gutsy and goes for what she wants. She is a certified physical therapist and has a chance to work at a gym with MMA fighters which allows her to fulfill her dream career. When she interviews she crosses paths with Gabriel, a mysterious fighter but is he really? Gabriel owns the gym and is immediately drawn to Cassie's strength and determination (her dirty mouth might have helped too!). This is a wonderfully sexy romance with a dominating male that manages to sweep Cassie off her feet but, there is a secret, will Gabriel open his heart and let Cassie in all the way? Will his secret scare her away?
Strike to the Heart (Mallory, Malia): What happens when a tennis star crosses paths with an MMA fighter? Sparks fly and a fabulous romance is born. Jo is finally reaching the top of her game when she meets Zane at a pre-US Open party. Zane provides her with a much needed distraction right before the big event and then when she is playing he provides the boost needed to dig deep and fight. The problem is she never dreamed of dating a fighter. Zane is blown away by Jo's drive, commitment and beauty so he does what all fighter do, he fights to win the girl. But will the girl fight for him?
The Harder We Fall (Esguerra, Mina V.): Daria's dream of finishing film school and embarking on a career putting her skills to use helping the world is within her grasp then the inernship she is planning to win throws a curve ball, one more video is required. She now has to film the rugby team and produce a winning video. Daria doesn't do sports so this is a huge challenge. Nicholas has worked for years to keep the rugby team alive and now as alumni his work continues putting him directly in Daria's path. There is more to Nick's story than just rugby and as these two kindred spirits connect, will he open his heart and reveal all to Daria? Will Daria be able to find what's really important in her life? Super sexy romance with sweaty, shirtless men, what more could you ask for?
Between Heats (Castro, Laney): What a wonderful debut novel by Laney Castro. The way she built 2 characters that are very goal driven in their careers and incorporated details about their respective careers along with the challenges and pitfalls to find success is beautifully crafted. Aaron is a competitive swimmer and finds himself playing model when he meets Madison. Their first encounter didn’t go well but not for the reasons you might assume when you start reading. Let's just say that Madison has a unique way to solve the problem. Aaron then pursues Madison but she really isn't looking for a serious relationship as she focuses on modeling and getting into acting. We also learn that Madison has a "casual" thing going with Seth who is helping her get acting gigs – I'm not really sure his intentions are as honest as she believes. Of course, this causes issues since Aaron wants Madison to be his girlfriend. As Madison gets to know Aaron, she seems to want this too but can she walk away from the opportunities Seth provides? Will Madison put her faith in Aaron?
The Princess Finds Her Match (de Borja, Suzette): Princess Alexandria has been the perfect princess so her best friend convinces her to let lose one night which puts her in the path of Nic, a star polo player. They have an amazing night but neither one knows who the other really is as Lexie leaves in a rush. What happens when the meet again at the polo tournament? Then the paparazzi get involved, will a "pretend" relationship become something real? Exciting and sexy romance that gives us the world of polo playing – a new sports twist that was a lot of fun to explore.
Tame the Kitten (Mori, Bianca): Exciting romance between 2 driven and determined individuals and neither wanting to compromise. Kit has a take no prisoners approach and at work is pretty unapproachable. When her boss asks her to personally see to Fab, a famous motorcycle rider, to ensure he signs with them, she agrees in hopes this allows her to move up in the organization. What she doesn't expect is for Fab to press all her buttons causing her change her strategy. Fab is blown away by the strong and confident Kit so how can her get her to see past his motorcycle career and see who he really is. Of course, Kit's boss opens his mouth at just the wrong time, will Fab be able to forgive Kit? Can he see the truth?
Submission Moves (Sisco, Camilla): Rose is a ball buster which I love. She is strong in convictions that women are capable of taking care of themselves and hates when men pander to her … a true feminist. Sadly, this mind set also clouds her thinking and prevents her from embracing/trusting that a man might truly be attracted to her. Rose meets Nick while in Vegas and she is pulled to him in a way she's never experienced before. After an amazing night though, she gets scared and runs. We pick up 4 years later and Nick has landed back in her orbit, will she be willing to rekindle that fire? Nick is tied up in knots over Rose, he really doesn’t understand why she runs so when he sees her again 4 years later, he hopes are renewed that he can finally make her his. Can he breakdown the walls Rose has built? Wonderfully sexy sports romance based in the MMA world, you get a real view of the work needed for Nick to be at the top of his game and be champion.

First of all I want to say that this is my first read to every author of this anthology, so, I am excited to find new authors!
This is a great anthology with very good authors, some I will read more of their work for sure.
It's hot, sexy, and all the stories are good! If you're looking for a sexy, strong, full of alpha males read, you got it!

What can I say about this story? I liked it, I loved Silver, everything about him really. Lace, I didn't like her at all... almost a woman but a completely brat!

WOW! I truly loved this book!
Everything kept me on edge, and the way they fell in love is amazing. Cassie is a very confident woman, the way she trusts Gabriel is so sweet that you dint get to see often.
I'm really glad that this story will be released as complete book soon. Can't wait to read more about them!

What a great story about how two people can connect so easy. One first look and the lust for each other just exploded! One night was all it was about but for Zane wasn't enough...
Jo didn't want a relationship with someone like Zane, but the heart have its own ways...
I really enjoyed the story, loved the way the author brought together those emotions and Zane... he's the perfect Alpha male! The sex scenes are pretty hot!

This book is GOOD! Very good! This is the kind of book that gives you a lesson, it shows you that you can have it all even if you leave something behind.
I loved Daria and Nicholas, their personality is so strong, their chemistry huge. They have their heads in the right path and they know what they want.
Is great to read a book that have all the insight and not only focus on the romance. This one is a great example!

I really liked this story, where a swimmer meets a model and start seeing each other. I laugh so bad after that first encounter, I never imagined that he was being a douche because of that issue... hahaha, nice one!
The book is a wonderful read, a very nice romance, its hot, its sexy and I loved the way the author gives us such nice details about their careers.

About this book. It's a good story, about a man who try to love this woman but she is so full of herself that she don't want to get hurt and hurts him without knowledge.
Nick is a saint of a man! He's hot, sexy, strong, totally alpha but not a cave man, he understands women and try not to hurt feelings. He's got a dirty mouth, and have great moves ;)
After a almost one night stand, that ends worse than he could think, we get a gap of 4 years. Nick and Rosie get together after that and he starts loving her and knowing that she's hard, feminist until the last degree, but still totally hot and the way he treats him makes him want her more and more.
When he finally give up, she wake-up and really see him: a strong male, who cares about her more than she could imagine. This fighter that don't give up of anything is everything she ever needed!

1. Play With Me by Marian Tee
It simply depicts why sometimes, girls would prefer guys who are at least 3years older. Because we need someone who could understand our immaturity and in turn, help us become mature one way or another
Was surprised by Derek Christopoulos being mentioned! One Greek guy in a story already had me imagining a god... but a basketball team of Greeks? It has awakened my reverse harem fangirl feels!!!
I'm curious about Lace's "past"... and greatly intrigued by Silver's bad boy image!!! I am so looking forward to the second installment!!! I wonder if the rest of the basketball team would have their individual stories too? heheh

I got a little paranoid about Wendy, Dakota, Becca and even Ashley I thought at one point one or even all of them would ruin it for Gabriel and Cassie Good thing it turned out well heheh

Perfect balance between two sports and romance. i don't watch tennis as it seems quiet to me hahaha...and I don't watch MMA because of the blood and gore huhu. Anywaaaayyys... This story has reinforced my belief that even brute and tough guys have aoft spots especially for the females they deeply care about.
The ending, I think, was a shock and I thought it went too fast...but hey, we're living in a fast world now so there...hahaha. It's still a good read indeed finished it on the way back to Manila hahaha
4. Between Heats by Laney Castro
I thoroughly enjoyed the story of a lust on first sight (hey..that's a nice R18 title hmm)... Which then moves to a getting-to-know each other stage...then evolves to a deeper, more intimate relationship between Olympic swimmer Aaron and model/barista Madison. And I particularly like the lesson about getting something you want because you worked so hard for it...including the person you love.

What I loved about this story was the writing style. It was very well-written, the tone and words perfectly matching the aristocrtic feel. I had to consult Mr. Webster whenever I spot a new word that was unfamiliar to me. That was why while reading this, I was also learning, ahaha.
And then there's Princess Lexie and Nic and how, although they were obviously in love with each other, they were held back by expectations and/or the past. And Butler that I just loved to hate! Gahd, that SOB needed to die. Tss. I wonder though if Prince Stefan and Duke Julian would find their own females worth fighting for.

Did she get the job done? Sure. But did she win the guy at the end who learned he was used as a stepping stone? It's for you to find out.

Perfect balance between two sports and romance. i don't watch tennis as it seems quiet to me hahaha...and I don't watch MMA because of the blood and gore huhu. Anywaaaayyys... This story has reinforced my belief that even brute and tough guys have aoft spots especially for the females they deeply care about.
The ending, I think, was a shock and I thought it went too fast...but hey, we're living in a fast world now so there...hahaha. It's still a good read indeed finished it on the way back to Manila hahaha
4. Between Heats by Laney Castro
I thoroughly enjoyed the story of a lust on first sight (hey..that's a nice R18 title hmm)... Which then moves to a getting-to-know each other stage...then evolves to a deeper, more intimate relationship between Olympic swimmer Aaron and model/barista Madison. And I particularly like the lesson about getting something you want because you worked so hard for it...including the person you love.
5. The Princess Finds Her Match by Suzette de Borja
What I loved about this story was the writing style. It was very well-written, the tone and words perfectly matching the aristocrtic feel. I had to consult Mr. Webster whenever I spot a new word that was unfamiliar to me. That was why while reading this, I was also learning, ahaha.
And then there's Princess Lexie and Nic and how, although they were obviously in love with each other, they were held back by expectations and/or the past. And Butler that I just loved to hate! Gahd, that SOB needed to die. Tss. I wonder though if Prince Stefan and Duke Julian would find their own females worth fighting for.

When you're suddenly asked by the bigboss to babysit one of the potential biggest clients of the company and one you'd love to hate, you'll just have to grind your teeth and get it over with. Especially if a promotion awaits once the job has been done successfully. At least that's what Kit Torres did when Fab Magnani walked inside the office while the boss was out.
Did she get the job done? Sure. But did she win the guy at the end who learned he was used as a stepping stone? It's for you to find out.

Lace Wyndham lived and breathed Basketball and coaching. Meeting March to her was like meeting any other guy until he made her opened her eyes to really see him and his desire for her. Well written and touching HEA. Looking forward to another book about this unusually couple.

In the fall out her one-night stand turns into a business arrangement via her brother even though she has real emotions towards the guy. There is several more things going on behind the scene. I found a few tears falling in a few parts of this very enjoyable story to read.

What do you get with a female feminist and an MMA fighter when you put them together? In this case lots of sparks and misunderstandings. It seems like Nick can never say the right thing to Rosie without her taking it the wrong way. And Rosie can't stop thinking and comparing every other man after her one night stand with Nick. Four years later and a chance meeting has the sparks flying again. Well written and very entertaining to read.

I've read other stories by Marian Tee and have had a lot of problems with her characters. I was hoping that with this story, since the male character that did the immediate falling, it would be a bit different. Unfortunately, it still just didn't work for me and I was unable to finish this story. Overall 1 star
Playing Games by Liliana Rhodes
This is a story about Cassie Monroe and what happens when she encounters Gabriel,, an MMA fighter, at a job interview. While they are able to avoid any relationship for a little while, eventually they can't resist. I really liked this story and the characters. I really liked Gabriel's dedication to to his child and Cassie's determination to be independent and have a successful career that she likes. I liked that, even though its not very long because of being in an anthology, the characters didn't rush too much into the relationship. That being said, the only problem I had was the time-frame for Cassie's feelings and trust. I felt that, for her being a strong independent woman, the time was a bit quick for her to let him control aspects of her situation and for her to trust everything he said. I can't wait to read the extended version. Overall, 4 stars

This is a story about Jo and Zane. Jo is a pro tennis star and Zane is an MMA fighter. This is the third story in an anthology I've read from this particular author. With the other stories, something about them just didn't work for me. However, I really liked this one. With this story, the roles are basically reversed. From the beginning, Jo and Zane have an amazing chemistry between them. Zane knows exactly what he wants, which is a serious commitment from Jo. Jo is denying her feelings and uses Zane's career to stick him into a stereotype she avoiding. I liked that in this story, Zane very much knows what he wants and isn't what one expects of someone in that career choice. I understood Jo avoidance of the person she thought he was. Overall 5 stars

Its no secret that I'm a big fan of anthologies. All those books from different authors for a great low price. Who can pass up on that? Especially when you get a mix of your favorite authors and new ones to fall in love with.

I loved this one. I thought Lace was so damn cute and I adored the Silver. Everything he did was for her. A definite must read!

Players, A Sports Romance Anthology is a collection of novels and novellas from different authors, including one of my all-time favorites Liliana Rhodes. While I have not had time yet to read all the stories in this collection, I have had time to read hers and it was great! Playing Games, by Liliana Rhodes starts off with Cassie Monroe recently moving to Canyon Cove to find work after graduating with her degree. Her roommate and friend has a uncle that works as a trainer and he is looking for someone to help the MMA fighters that he works with get over their injuries faster and get back in the cage. Cassie gets the job and while there runs into the owner, who she thinks at the time is just another fighter. But as it turns out this so called fighter, is actually the owner of this gym and a couple more. He helped make MMA fighting popular and made a lot of money doing so. Both he and Cassie find an attraction to each other. But for Gabriel, his life is more complicated than others tend to think. He has more to think about than just himself, there is someone else he shares his life with, someone very important to him. Will he be able to let Cassie in and share his secret with her? If his does how will Cassie respond? Will their relationship make it, even with everything that stands between them?
Playing Games is such a good novella. Rhodes did an amazing job once again! I absolutely fell in love with Gabriel. What is there to not love about a hot, rich man that wants to take care of the woman he cares about? And I loved the little bit of suspense from not knowing who or what Gabriel’s secret was. And of course the sex scene with Cassie and Gabriel was hot! Overall I really enjoyed the novella and can’t wait to finish reading all the stories in the collection. This book is definitely worth the read from what I have read already!

I have only read the first five stories in this anthology and I can honestly say I loved them all. Every story has a strong alpha male you cant help but fall in love with and some stubborn kick a** heroines.
Play With Me by Marian Tee was well written and flowed very well and for being a novella it didnt feel rushed at all. Lace to me is such a head strong heroine and it really shows when she does everything in her power to push Silver away. Looking forward to the second book and see where things go between these two stubborn hot headed characters.

Well that was one wonderful read. The way Mailia Mallory has as they say a gift of the bard. She tells the most interesting stories. And the all seem to have a moral of the story to them. This book was no exeption to the rule. The young woman in this story has been hurt in the worst way. She fears falling in love with a man that has a dangerous job for she could loose them. As not to ruin the story you will have to read to find out why she believes this. But Love is a funny thing we never know when it will hit and for who we will fall, and sometimes we do even realize we have already fallen.
This is a hot little story, I hope you will like it as much as I did.

Beautiful Romance with Macho Men
I bought this anthology because it has a book by one of my favorite authors, Liliana Rhodes, but I must say there are many great stories in this book. Lillian Rhodes story, Playing Games, is about a woman who moves from a small town to a bigger city in order to get a job in her field, sports physical therapy. Cassie is broke, and rents a room in the poor part of town while she searches for a job. She lands a job in a gym owned by a rich man who used to be a fighter before he opened his gyms. He has secrets but the attraction is intense. I love a story with an alpha male who likes to take charge! I also greatly enjoyed Marian Tee's story, Play with Me. A young woman, Lace, is a new basketball coach. She meets a rich executive who just happens to be around when she most needs him. This was a truly beautiful romance with a man, Silver, who will wait for the right time to be with a woman who is more tomboy than woman, but somehow he sees the real her. Oh, Silver is so perfect! Sigh.... This is a great Anthology.

I read this for Liliana Rhodes story, and it didn't disappoint. I love that she uses realistic characters. Not the typical thin damsel in distress, she has curvy, strong women. Cassie and Gabriel were great. And Gabriel, I can't say enough about him, he has his priorities and sticks to them, even if it means he had no life. I can't wait to see what happens with them. And I loved the tie-in of previous characters.
Marian Tee, once again phenomenal, she has strong heroines, that don't realize its okay to lean on someone. Silver was the perfect compliment to Lace.
I admit, I don't know much about the other authors. And I've only read the next 2 stories, one from Malia Mallory and Mina V. Esguerra, and they are exceptional. Zane and Jo were amazing. Each professionals, at the top of their game, with their own goals, would they be the same goals? Maybe.... Daria and Nicholas were each going in different directions, but somehow ended up on the same path. This story was not what I expected, it was even better.

Touching story!!
Love that there are several stories by some very talented authors. Lillian Rhodes -Playing Games was a story about a girl named Cassie who recently moved to Canyon Cove. She is broke and is renting a room that feels like a closet. She is a sports Physical Therapist. She Has an interview at a gym for MMA. Cassie has an encounter with Gabriel in the locker room. Little does she know he's the owner and he has a secret.
I don't want to give the story away. I'm just going to say that this is a good love story. It is well written has a lot of emotion and it's easy to connect to the characters. I honestly didn't want it to be over. There was another aspect to the story I loved, Ashley from a Billionaires Whim was her cousin and I thought that was a nice blending of the story and the town.

I've had a chance to read two of the books so far in this anthology:

I love lilliana and will buy anything she has a story in. I really enjoyed it.
the other story I read is Malia Mallory's story of strike to the hear. It is a great story about overcoming the fear of falling in love and taking that chance on someone. It was hot a passionate between Jo and Zane. loved the ending!

This is an awesome group of stories! If you love sports themed romances and light-hearted flirtatious banter then you will love these! I loved all of the stories but my two favorites were Playing Games by Liliana Rhodes and Play With Me by Marian Tee. Playing Games has you falling in love with Cassie and Gabriel! Gabriel will just make you swoon! He is such a great guy and know what he wants! Cassie has spunk and is not afraid to put her heart out there! You will fall in love instantly! Silver and Lace in Play With Me are simply adorable and will have you turning the pages to see what funny and delightful exchange will happen between Silver and Lace. Silver just falls instantly for Lace when he first meets her and slowly plans to sweep her off her feet! You will not be disappointed in purchasing this collection of funny, sports-themed romances!

I have only read two books in the set so far. Yet, these two books are well worth the limited .99 introductory price!
Play With Me by Marian Tee: Lace is a foul mouthed, basketball coach. Who likes Nike's more than high heels. Silver knows Lace is the one for him but, does Lace think the same?

She has the patience of a saint. I know it is hard adding a new love interest to the life you already have, especially when children are involved. While I think he was great for going slow for his daughter's sake, he should have been more upfront and honest with her.

Who doesn't love players, weather football, baseball, MMA or whatever. As long as the player is a sexy alpha male, then I am all for reading them. I have only read a few stories but what I have read is well worth getting this boxed set. Malia Mallory's story is my favorite so far, as I love all things MMA. And being this is a set of 8 standalone stories, what could be better. No cliffhangers to leave you wanting more. But with sexy alpha males, I am always wanting more. So if you are into athletes, then this boxed set is for you. I hope there will be another set, I loved this one.

great set. Each story was different and had the hot athlete in it. all in all what could you ask for. Most of these authors are new to me but I would def read more of their books. my favorite was Playing Games by Liliana Rhodes, I have read all of her work and love it. cassie was a great heroine and enjoyed that she was not a stick figure like most books. I found myself wanting to these this set in one sitting too. great stories and cant beat the price

this book set it great Lillian Rhodes does such a great job on her short story. She tells a short story of a young lady barley making it in a new city she's a trainer and would love nothing more then to trainer but her first encounter with a great mma fighter. then theres lany Castro has a way to tell a good story. a professional swimmer doing modeling gig he finds one of the models attractive.from the moment they meet sparks fly. honestly these are just two of the good stories all are great.

SEXY ATHLETES AND ROMANCE Players is a great set of stories, all with sexy alpha athletes and fabulous romance. Looking forward to Ms Rhodes extended version of Playing Games. Loved that Cassie actually had enough faith in Gabriel to trust him even when it was so hard to do. All the stories were great. I couldn't stop reading. All the authors did a great job.
