I read this series individually a few months ago and then I binged the entire box set, what a thrill to read one book after the other! This INCREDIBLE author is one in a million! This series was so different to any of the other series I've read by this incredible author and just as riveting! Sci-fi, aliens outer space, alive, vivid, in this space opera read. This series has me reeling so many times. This series had me gnawing at my knuckles many times. This series had me gaping in shock many times. This series froze my blood in my veins many times. This author has the ability to rivet me from word one and carry my effortlessly to the end. At which time I have the warmest feeling permeating through me, a smile on my face from the HEA and a tinge of regret that I've reached the end... This is an author who is an automatic read for me! All of Ms Bazzar's characters are awesome, they are so full, so well rounded, so descriptively vivid, I get the sense of who each one is, the good, the bad, and the darn right ugly
Leann, is a fabulous character, once a soldier, now a fugitive and a scavenger, getting by selling debris she collects, suddenly gets an opportunity for big moolas, when her friend, Leo, arranges a trip with the dreaded Kroz, but she's hiding, keeping under the radar. The horrors she experienced were beyond horrific, but she survived, she became a different persona, trying to put the past behind her. She, and her very cool, sentient AI, Mac are a unit, separate entities and the love and respect they share for the other is just gorgeous! Unravelling Lenna was addictive, I just wanted to know more and more. And I got my wish, not the full story, but enough for me to feel her in my soul, to understand her motives and her needs. Her personal growth throughout the series filled my heart with joy, I was rooting for this amazing character from the instant I met her and to see her come "alive" is thrilling, in the true sense of the word.
This author sets up her plot in such a way, it's impossible to see everything thrown at one, and, when she starts unpacking it, the effect is jaw dropping! Crisp immersive prose, riveting storytelling, superb character building, winding routes and introspection, hints at atrocities, all so absorbingly gripping. My goodness, all I can say is, this was an incredible, fast paced, awesome action read. Intergalactic battles apleny! Traitors, betrayal that threatened everything, survival instincts, hidden agendas and a "thing" happening between Lenna and Ravi, got every emotion on high alert, superbly created by this author. I loved Ravi Drax, honourable, tough, dedicated, loyal, and hot as heck! And I loved the effect Lenna has on him, too beautiful. He must be the deadliest sweetheart in existence. I loved everything about him, although he knows what he wants, namely Lenna, he gives her space, he gives her comfort, he gives her protection. Not that she really needs protection, she has Mac and she's one lean, mean, fighting machine. Ok, half machine.
This series gets more exciting and expansive with every book! I can't really express all the nuances of this book, I'd have to give too much away, but shoot, this intricately woven tale surpassed any expectations I might have had, all I knew was that I was about to embark on an amazing Jina Bazzar journey, but I had no idea HOW amazing it would be! Intergalactic politics, civil war, agencies that dabbled in illicit behaviour, incredible mouth drying action and a romance so sweet yet complex, just divine! This series is just divine! The culmination of the plot, the characters, the immensely riveting storytelling, the amazing pace and heck, just the whole enchilada, had me entranced, as I too, a passenger in this series, avoided astroids, and enemy fire! The bestest conclusion to a series! Outstanding once again!
