I definitely enjoyed this. I never imagined Sophie “looking for trouble”❤️ I cannot believe I enjoyed this more than the first one with Adrian and Liv. Which says a lot cause Sophie is totally seen wrong by the rest of the world. It’s nice to see her through a mate bond.

This is the prequel, and no, you don’t need to read the other two books first. The books are interconnected standalones, and this one works perfectly on its own. It’s a spicy M/F omegaverse centered on family expectations, status, and being pushed toward a future that benefits everyone except the person living it.

Sophie is soft and compliant, shaped by her mother’s ambition to see her mated to Adrian, the pack leader. She isn’t trying to scheme or manipulate anyone, she’s trying to survive the role chosen for her. Karl, Adrian’s brother, is meant to be the safeguard, the one keeping Sophie at arm’s length. Instead, he becomes the complication, and the tension between them builds in quiet looks, interruptions, and moments that feel heavier than words.

The only thing keeping this from five stars for me was that I wanted a bit more time in Karl’s head to fully unpack his internal struggle. That said, this book delivers satisfying tension, solid spice, and a prequel that stands strong on its own while setting up the larger world nicely.

This was such a fun, spicy ride. Sophie is introduced as the perfect mate for his brother, and watching the MMC slowly realize he is absolutely not willing to let her go made the tension irresistible. I knew they would end up together since this is a prequel, but the journey there was hot, messy, and emotionally charged in the best way. The longing, the guilt, the pull between them all worked perfectly. Knot Me Baby One More Time by Ariana Frost sets the stage beautifully for the rest of the series and made me even more invested in these characters. Totally worth the read.
