THIS STORY CONTAINS EXPLICIT s*x SCENES, POSSESSIVE ALPHA ENERGY, AND INTENSE EMOTIONAL TENSION. READER DISCRETION IS STRONGLY ADVISED.
"You stood there and watched me stroke myself to the thought of you… and you liked it. Didn't you?"
"You're wet," he growled. "Just from words. Just from me saying your name while I came."
When Liana Rivers fell into bed with her brooding, dominant, dangerously irresistible stepbrother, Killian Wolfe, she gave him everything, her heart, her body, her virginity.
But when she discovered she was pregnant and found out he was engaged to another woman, she ran quietly, carrying a shattered heart and a baby he would never know.
Now, seven years later, she's a struggling single mom working as a hotel janitor, doing everything she can to hide her past, and her son, from the ruthless Alpha who broke her. Until one night, he finds her again. Richer. Darker. More powerful than ever. And he wants her back.
Killian isn't just here to play house. He wants control. Of her life. Her body. Her son. And this time, he's not asking.
She ran from him once. But now that he knows the truth… He'll burn the whole damn world to keep what's his.
Two ⭐️ rating even though it was a DNF because it has real potential to be a good story if the author just edits it better and fixes a few things.
I DNF at 62% and just couldn’t push myself any further to finish it. It’s an erotica alpha wolf fated mates stepbrother romance. Yet even at 62% the only “shifter” aspect we have so far is the fated mates connection and the mating bite. The whole wolf thing isn’t even hinted at.
Also, the guy is married. So he cheats on his wife. He even sleeps with the FMC while his fiancé (at this time) is in the same house. The FMC begs him not to marry the other woman. She begs him to be with her and even states she will be whatever he wants. She will even be the other woman. I hate desperation. Just eww.
She has a 6 year old son and this kid sleeps all the freaking time. It’s clear that the author only added him into the story for the angst factor because 95% of the scenes involving him are of him sleeping. The rest of the time it’s him adding drama by asking about her relationship to the MC.
This thing is littered with plotholes. I hate that I spent actual money to read this but hopefully the author uses the monetary gain to fine tune their writing. I see actual potential. It reminds me of Charlotte McGinlay. Her first few books were just as bad but had great angst and as she’s progressed as an author her books keep getting better.
I look forward to seeing future works by this author once they learn to fine tune it and piece together plotholes.
I honestly don't know how I finished it. I honestly don't like giving bad reviews because I know how much people give to write a book. However, this read like it was written by a 15 year old I'm definitely not reading the 2nd book and I'm gutted I spent actual money on it. The 2 stars are because it has taken the author time and effort. Sorry but please don't waste your money
