It's a wonderful little book it stays on my bed and if I need some encouragement or something I just filp to what I need!

I bought this Book from a shopkeeper in FATA, selling goods either sold out or left over by US/ISAF soldiers operating in Afghanistan.Infact there were dozens of such books selling for a dollar each besides other items of warfare.
This is a simple and reader friendly version of the holy Bible, divided under different subjects like anger, belief, charity, courage, hope, mercy, peace, repentence, sickness, trust, wisdom, work, worry and many others. There is absolutely no doubt that the words of this Book carry great solace and comfort and is of great help while passing through test and tribulations. These words contain no regard for the caste and creed of the people, the only consideration being addressing the pupil of God, affectionately called the childern of God herein. The message of the Book is universal and transcends time and age.This surely is the continuation of the divine guidance offerred by the Almighty since Man and Woman were created.
One of the remarkable features of the Book is the close resemblence it has with the teachings of Islam. The islamic scripture consist of two parts, the words of God as enshrined in the holy Quran as preserved in its orignal shape. The second catagory is the words of the Prophet called 'Hadith' or 'Sunnah' which are available in different books, compiled by the companions of the Prophet, these being the sayings or deeds of the prophet in the light of divine revealation. The contents of the bible promise Book in most of the cases matches with the Hadith and Sunnah but also with Quran in many many places. At numerous places they are just the same which affirms the beliefs in the authencity of the scripts in the two religions. Of course no seeker will be disappointed with the recourse to the Bible promise book.

Extremely easy read. If you are looking for a simple text to provide you with bible scriptures on themes such as :sin, hope, spiritual growth; consult this book.

This is one of my favorite books when I want to find scriptures according to subject matter. I always keep one in my car, so I can use my time effectively when I am stuck in traffic, it is a great way to get your focus off your frustration on to what really matters.
I also try keep a new one handy to give away, if I meet someone needing encouragement. Many homeless people don't have a Bible, so this is lightweight for them to carry and I keep them enclose it in an individually sealed ziploc bag, so if they get rained on the book doesn't get damaged. I can't tell you the appreciation I've been shown from those wanting one. It is a great way to witness and lead people to Christ or repent and rededicate their life!

I love that this book is small and easy to bring along or have sitting on your night stand. It’s laid out well and very simply for referencing subjects in scripture. I find it helpful for a quick reference or bit of the word.
It’s 4 stars and not 5 just because it’s very old school and basic. And that’s still ok— it gets the job done. It’s just not going to “wow” you with the layout or aesthetic.

Very easy to understand the meaning
Contents are by subject matter which is perfect. This new life version is totally practical. You don't have to wonder whether or not your interpretation of the Bible quoted scripture is correct.

While this is a decent starting point to study the topics it covers, there is no context provided to any of the verses listed. This is not a good way to study the Bible. If you read it, instead, as an entry point rather than a destination, it's great - albeit far from comprehensive.

I can't say enough good about this little resource book. It is great to have in your purse or tote to refer to when you need to find just the right Bible verse for your needs.

The scriptures in ABC format

I'm still making references to this book on a weekly basis. I was hoping to actually do to it on a daily basis, but it appears that I've just brought myself to look at a verse to live by each week.
This book is great for someone who is just starting out on the bible (kinda me) and doesn't know where to begin. I love how the book is divided by the subject of the verses.
I didn't read it from beginning to end in numerical order. I found it easier to go to the topic that I know I need help in, then the topic I'm curious about, and then I just go based on what my mother says or just pick randomly. My first section was "Courage" because I knew for a fact that courage was something I lacked. Now I refer to this book whenever I'm struggling in something, and I use it to find quotes for my section markers in my notebook.
Some days I find it easier to just carry this book instead of the actually bible, because it's easier to find what you need. Especially since I'm still "in-training".

My 2nd Copy - I found this on Mom’s bookshelves in her “Family Room” where she had photo/posters of all her kids, grand, and great-grands and their partners after she passed away on 01 November 2025. It was purchased at Haslam’s Bookstore in St. Pete, FL (one of my favorite bookstores in all the world - it was so huge.
The book was originally published in 1973, then 1978, then 1984 before this one was published in 1990.
The Copyright Page shows that it came in two colors: Mauve, and Blue.
The pages on Anger, Forgiveness, Grace, Hope, and Parents’ Duties.

I received this book along with some books I got from Pastor Rod Parsley in 2008. I didn't read it until a few months later and I was greatly blessed by reading all of the promises of God were written in the Old and New Testaments of the Holy Bible. This small book is bigger than any novel or self-help book because it tells you specifically what God promises you as a Child of God who follows HIS will in obedience. Amen!

I was at a bible conference in my mid-teens and they happened to be selling this. I am absolutely in love with quote books, and this book is direct quotations from the bible on a wide range of issues. If you need advice or help in life, Browsing through this for whatever you need help on in regards to life is a delight.

This is a great book that reminds us of what God has in store for us. The promises are separated by topic to make it easy to find what you are looking for. Because the promises are scripture quotations, I recommend reading the surrounding scriptures for context.

I like having this book with me to go to through the year to read different subjects as I need them to help me with what I may be going through..I like the fact that it's small and I can carry in my purse anywhere when my bible is to much for me to carry.

My mother gave me this book a year before she went to be with the Lord. I cherish this book with all my heart. Its a great book to read when you are down, or just to be reminded of who God is, and what God promised us in His Word.

Short read citing some of God's promises throughout the Bible, with prayers one can use as a base with regard to the specific promise read. Good reference book that I have added to my library and will give as gifts.
