Another dream came and went, and they survived it. Barely.
Now, venturing south of the mountains that surrounded him his entire life, Aerym seeks out the aid of an old friend of a friend for what might be his greatest and final gamble. He’s going to rid himself of this prophetic curse. Or he’s going to die trying.
Hunted by archfiends serving the dark entity within him every step of the way, Aerym must travel through the land of dreams and relive every vision he’s ever had. Each torment is a trial. A test against himself and the fate that binds him. Yet the land of dreams hardly plays fair and he is forced to suffer his worst nightmares time and time again, rewatching those he failed to save die until he can make things right.
Not all gambles pay off, and success doesn’t always mean victory.

I loved the first book and TOTALLY adored the second. THANK youuuu so much for this opportunity. we are once again faced with a main character that is far from perfect. A main character we can relate to in ways you might not see possible. He is tortured by his own mind and by that he makes wrong choices in real life but what he doesn't see is that he's not alone. And he never will be The people around him are not perfect either but at least they try their best to help him and be by his side. Their journey is not easy, and they don't get everything done instantly. They are put at work, they get through trials by doing many errors before finding the right answer. And maybe, it isn't even the right answer but it's what keeps them moving. I also adored the way it was written, the words simply flowed through the book and kept me hooked barely able to let the book down from my hand. This is honestly a must read!
Anguries of the Past is a glorious continuation to The Tales of Aerym, that is still blending the past with the present time. Compared to Memories of Tomorrow, I must say that the past life chapters has evolved so much more for the better. With more happening, that is keeping it more exciting, and with a bigger place to be.
Overall with both narratives, you have a much more insight on the world and Aeryms life. With even more danger everywhere, to keep you on your toes in excitement.
One of the things I love most about this series so far is the friendship. It's just so beautiful, how much they are willing to sacrifice for each other, and for me that is one of the most important things in a series.
There is something about Noah's writing that just pulles you in by the very first sentence, and keeps you warm all the way to the very end.
It was interesting to see how different this was from the first book. "Memories of Tomorrow" was a slow burn with a ticking clock heralding the certain death of one of the main characters. In contrast, "Auguries of the Past" is a fast-paced fantasy heist with high-concept elements similar to Christopher Nolan movies, especially "Inception" (which I adore). Granted, there are aspects of the first book I like more, but it is healthy for a series to change from one installment to another. It does give it a breath of fresh air and makes each book its own thing.
