Love is a dangerous game…and she's the perfect weapon. A femme fatale mafia princess meets her dark, brooding match in this searing opposites-attract new adult romance
Gráinne
I belong to the mob.
I’m a beautiful, seductive pawn—a weapon in my family’s extensive armory.
It’s why I’m at St. Agnes. Catering to America’s richest and most corrupt, the college is the perfect place to get a world-class education and secure my father’s legacy.
My orders? Choose one of the men on my father’s list and make him want to marry me.
My only rule? Don’t fall in love.
Luca
Most people view me as my brother’s enforcer.
The son of a powerful mafia don, I scare people. Intimidate them until they do what I—what we—want.
Those who aren’t after my family connections think I’m a monster.
But not Gráinne.
She wants me despite my darkness—maybe even because of it.
Despite a reading addiction that takes up most of her free time, Kelly Kilburn loves to write her own romance novels. She’s an absolute sucker for a morally grey hero with a twisted path toward happily-ever-after.
Kelly lives in Pittsburgh, Pa., with her partner in crime (otherwise known as her husband) and occasionally their daughter (when she deems them worthy of a visit from college). When she’s not immersed in a romance, Kelly often can be found drinking copious amounts of coffee while watching the deer play in the woods outside her window.
This was a fun, quick read that fans of mafia romance books are going to love. Our FMC is sent to a prestige college to find a husband in the form of a rival mafia heir. The issue, her father is the head of the Irish Mob and his motives are anything but good and in the best interest of his daughter. Our MMC is one of 4 men deemed worthy by the FMC’s father. While he insists she sets her sights on one man, she is instantly drown to another.
Overall, this book had all the intrigue I love from a mafia romance while also having the lighthearted feeling of a sweet romance. The FMC was born and bred to be fierce and boy is she ever fierce. They faced so much conflict but always came back to their obsession with each other. Definitely an insta love but I enjoyed it! All in all, a fun read with an interesting plot and great steamy moments.
Both narrators were new to me and I really hope to listen to more of their work. I think did a fantastic job conveying a wide range of emotions and tension. I definitely think this is worth a listen!
Thank you so much to Kelly, Harlequin Audio, and NetGalley for this ALC in return for my honest review. My opinions are my own.
Did the book description sound good? Yes. Did I expect to love this book the way I did? Yes and no. I had that *feeling*… I know that sounds crazy, but the cover and book description really gave off the right type of vibes for me. So did I expect it? No, but also I had a feeling, so yes. This book absolutely didn’t disappoint. Even as a dual narration, it is so good. I admit I do love a duet, and the books done in that style just read smoother. It tends to make getting lost and emotionally invested easier in this book. That wasn’t a problem at all with this book. So for a book to be this good as a dual narration? That says a lot. The amazing writing combined with the amazing narration blew me away. This book is angsty, and the narration puts so much emotion into their voices. I just wow. This mafia romance is dark, and yeah, you need to check your TWs, but it’s not super dark. It’s what you would expect, tbh. It has the rival mafias and the whole opposites attract thing going on. But for me, the biggest hook was Luca. The way he loved her, even when he didn’t know how or thought he deserved her. It just was a lot. The book is also spicy, but not overly so. The spice also tends to add to the emotion in the book. I feel like I keep pointing out how emotional this book is, but for real, this book is super emotional and *chef’s kiss*. I am looking forward to the next book in the series and definitely recommend this book to all angsty mafia romance lovers.
This contemporary romance is book 1 of The Heirs of the Organized series. This book does have darker themes and scenes. The romance in this book is a forbidden romance. This book is spicy with open door spicy scenes. Gráinne has been sent to find a husband by her father who is the Irish mafia leader. Luca belongs to the Italian mafia and is one her father’s recommended husband potentials. Luca is a dangerous enforcer, but when he’s with her, he is someone else. She was supposed to spy and not fall in love. It was going to be easy. Until she met Luca. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶️🌶️🌶️ 🚫Check for TWs 🎧Audiobook ✨Thank You Harlequin Audio for the ALC✨
The amount of angst and delicious spice had me hooked from beginning to end. The mafia college setting and the incredible characters held me completely captivated and I devoured the book. It was action-packed, suspenseful, and romance so full with tension that it had me on the edge of my seat.
Grainne is an amazing FMC, femme fatal meets mafia princess. She's intelligent, calculating, and resilient.
What is it about the strong/silent, broody types? Luca is a gentle giant and had my heart from the beginning. He's dangerous and devoted and had me melting into a puddle.
I loved how their relationship developed, how they fell in love, and the spice was scorching hot. Their HEA has hard hard-earned and is worth all the tension.
Narrated by J.T. Londale and Harper Holloway. I enjoyed the audiobook so much. Delivered perfectly, I couldn't get enough.

This is Heirs of the Organized Book 1 and you better believe I'm reading the whole series and can't wait for more.
Thank you NetGalley and Kelly Kilburn for the opportunity to read/listen to this book.
This was such a fun, addictive mafia romance with high tension, real stakes, and a love story that felt both dangerous and tender at the same time. The dynamic between the main characters gave me strong Romeo and Juliet energy, mixed with a Beauty and the Beast vibe where fear, power, and vulnerability are constantly colliding.
The chemistry was undeniable and built naturally. I loved how loyalty, family expectations, and personal choice were all tangled together, making every decision feel heavy and meaningful. The romance felt intense without overpowering the story, and the emotional beats hit at just the right moments.
There is plenty of action, intrigue, and spice, but what really worked for me was how invested I became in the characters and their world. I flew through this and never once felt bored.
If you enjoy mafia romance with strong chemistry, emotional tension, and a dramatic love story, this one is absolutely worth picking up. I am definitely continuing the series.
At first I was irritated with the mmc. He repeatedly, (I mean over and over) talks about how big he is, how massive his body is etc etc. I get it bro you are muscled. Chill. I also just wasn't feeling the narrator. But Luca grew on me, not that he didn't continue to comment about how hulking he was. I think it was the soft clueless giant act. The loving her despite thinking he wasnt good enough that was sweet.
Gráinne was smart and a bit sad. Definitely a badass and resourceful. They are very quick to love but the emotions throughout are solid. The amount of times I was rooting for her to kick ass was alot.
It felt surprisingly lighthearted for a mafia romance. But theres a rival mafia family thing going on which was written really well. Lots of tension with a tender love and affection.
Id def recommend if your looking for a fast paced romance with some good dramatic twists.
Thank you to Harlequin Audio and Kelly Kilburn for the opportunity to listen to this ALC!
First of all, I enjoyed the premise of this story. A bunch of heirs to the mafia all going to a college together? And the FMC is a badass mafia princess that can take care of herself? Count me in.
One of the things that stood out to me about this book was Luca's inner monologue. He's only soft for Gráinne (which we love of course!), but his inner monologue was just so funny to me sometimes. He truly can't believe that Gráinne is interested in him.
The narrators were great. J.T. Londale & Harper Holloway did an excellent job and really added to the emotional depth of the story.
The talented narrators of this audiobook are J.T. Londale and Harper Holloway. This is a mafia romance that focuses on characters Gráinne, a mafia princess and Luca, the son of a mafia don. I loved this new adult romance. Harper was amazing voicing the female characters, especially Gráinne. I loved her character as the femme fatale type. J.T. did a wonderful job as the voice of Luca, tough mafia enforcer. If you enjoy mafia romance you can't miss this one.
I loved this dark romance with Luca and Gràinne and loved how he was so soft and so in love with her. This is my first book with this author and I can’t wait to listen to the next book.
This was really well written. I received a free copy of the dual narrated audiobook and am voluntarily leaving my review. My opinions are my own. This was a spicy mafia romance with a MMC who seemed more of a cinnamon roll than morally gray. The FMC was very likable, and I loved the female narrator's portrayal of her. Both narrators had a wide range of voices. Overall, this was an interesting read!
