The Wine Merchant's Daughter: a Lesbian Pirates of the Mediterranean novel

Rate this book
Alessia has resigned herself to an arranged marriage of convenience.

Alessia Vendemia, master vintner and daughter of Santorini's most powerful wine merchant, knows her wines carry the soul of the volcanic soil. But when her father announces a contest for her hand in marriage, she sees her dreams of freedom and independence evaporate. Her only refuge is a secluded cove where she escapes to think—until she encounters a mysterious woman bathing in its waters.

Pirate captain Kyra Nikolis has returned to Santorini with vengeance in her heart, seeking justice. Disguised as "Nikolai," a merchant from the Black Sea, she enters the marriage contest as cover to retrieve her family's stolen property from the Ottoman administration. What she doesn't expect is the pull she feels toward the wine merchant's daughter—a woman whose expertise and quiet rebellion awakens something dangerous in her heart.

As tremors shake the island and the volcano wakens from its slumber, Alessia and Kyra must navigate a dangerous game of secrets and lies. With the island on the brink of catastrophic eruption, they'll have to choose between duty, vengeance, and a love as forbidden as it is powerful. Will they escape the island's fiery fate with their lives and hearts intact?

Full of breathtaking romance and heart-pounding adventure, The Wine Merchant's Daughter serves up an intoxicating blend of passion and peril for fans of sapphic historical romance.

Would have benefited from a good edit to remove the extensive repetition and sort out the confusing timeline.
There wasn’t much sailing and no piracy at all.
