This is J Ellis Vale’s memoir, an intimate journey through the darkest parts of the past.
This isn’t just a story, this was Vale’s experience through life. This is a very vulnerable read and shows Vale’s resilience, having gotten to this point in life.
While this book will not be for everyone, I appreciate the author for their rawness and strength. If this book helps someone with their struggles and their path to healing, it’s a win! Check trigger warnings prior to reading.
Thank you to author, J Ellis Vale for the opportunity to read this book. You are amazing for sharing your truth! I am leaving my review voluntarily.
This story is real, it’s raw, it’s emotional. I found myself enthralled in Vale’s story and what she experienced as a child and into her later years. My heart ached and then leapt with excitement as I read her journey with becoming the best version of herself. I think it took tremendous strength and courage to open up and share her story and I hope people understand that. I hope those who choose to read it realize that there are others who have experienced or are experiencing the same thing or a version of it. I hope that those of us who read it, choose to be a friend, a strength, an aid or whatever that person may need to help them become the best person they can be.
