The Price of Honor

Rate this book
A legendary hero has fallen. Darkness is spreading. For Thomas and the crew of Excalibur, the worst is yet to come.

Honor demands sacrifice. But what happens when the price is too high?

Thomas must decide how far he's willing to go, and whether some victories are worth the cost they demand. As the enemy’s assault on the galaxy intensifies and innocents are set to die by the millions, Thomas will quickly discover that honor doesn’t only mean standing for what's right.

Sometimes it means standing alone.

This was an excellent conclusion to the story line, though the author did leave opportunities for further books with these characters. Sir Dragon (Thomas) and Excalibur's team began to free people, yet were also on the cusp of annihilation as Turquine and Klingsor brought their terrible powers to bear on them. I enjoyed how the many key players had roles in this book in ways that made sense and advanced the story. Very satisfying.

Unexpected allies.

The ups and downs of such a complex conflict are not easy to define. As we find here, nothing is all good or all bad. Truly interesting is how that is continuing to play out thru this story. Characters are evolving, not just like Turquine with his nanites. But emotionally, relationally, even physically and mentally.
Awesome job holding this all together. And yet another book to continue this amazing story.

Great book, just one bugbear

I've really enjoyed these books. It's clever how the Arthur legend has been adapted to space. It's well written and engaging. I do have one bugbear though, with all the magic and technology in the story, why don't they have personal communicators? They have data pads and transporters but still have to send runners off to find everyone. Surely, this wouldn't affect the storyline enough to make a difference?

Hard to review.

This is a difficult series to evaluate
As I read this series there were time i was ready to quit. But for some reason I kept going. It rated between a zero and a four depending where I was. I will probably never read or recommend any book written by Forbes.
Good part ☺ if you thought Merlin was a alien this series does an excellent job of proving it.

Great read...

I'm so glad to find out that this wasn't the last book in the series. The main character still has quite a task in front of him considering he's gonna let morgana go. But that's only gonna make the next book even better!

Friends become enemies, and foes allies

New twists and turns in this reimagining of Arthurian legend. War throughout Avalon, and fighting against impossible odds. The legend continues.

Wow! Highly recommend this series. A fresh look at the tale of Arthur Pendragon and the future without him. New heroes that follow such a legend. Incredible.
