Deliver Us From Evil: Putting a Stop To The Occultic Influence Invading Your Home and Community

Rate this book
Occult influences march freely across the American landscape today. From "Pokemon cards"and "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" to Marilyn Manson and psychic hotlines, the nation is under siege. Occult beliefs-presented as the path to enlightenment and peace-permeate our society, powerfully influencing our children, our neighbors, our government and even our churches. Cindy Jacobs reveals the deadly impact of Satan's dominion over the media and the resulting rise in violence and immorality that plague our society. She then shows how through prayer, spiritual warfare and activism we can halt the destructive advance of the devil's kingdom in the land.

I remember reading this when I was about 17 years old or so. It was handed to me by a concerned adult—certainly with good intentions—and I read it out of respect for that person's concern. Nevertheless, I must say (to put it bluntly) that this book is a hot piece of garbage. I often try to be charitable when I engage with materials that I don't necessarily agree with and I don't tend to use such blunt language when I write book reviews. Otherwise I would be minimizing the weight of such words. I only reserve that type of language when an author misses the mark in such an abysmal fashion—and this book definitely falls into such category.

I say that as someone who is utterly committed to a Christian worldview; as someone who has two advanced degrees in the field of Theology; as someone who has read hundreds of books in such field; and as someone who has dedicated his life to Christian ministry. I don't say these things in an attempt to boast, but to make anyone reading this review be aware that I do have some expertise in the subject matter.

Now, why this book is so bad? Well, to start with, it's full of unwarranted assertions. One after another, after another—and there's just not much to back it. It dwells on pop fiction like Harry Potter or cartoons like Pokemon and it demonizes them without any sort of evidence or argumentation. We are just supposed to basically take her at her word.

This expression of fundamentalism/legalism that sees the occult and demonic activity anywhere and everywhere is so inherently toxic, it has eroded that faith of quite a few people. I have seen it with my own eyes. Kids are not dumb. They know that many of these cartoons actually are very family-friendly and embody good morals they aim to imitate. Saying that those pop culture elements belong to the realm of the occult because there's "magic" involved—surprise, it's a fictional world—or because it is widely popular like Pokemon used to be, is downright insulting to the intelligence of children, and rather than building their faith, such assertions would erode their faith. Because if they come to understand that seeing satanisms anywhere and everywhere is what biblical Christianity looks like, who would want to be part of that? Particularly when parents start to attribute bad things happening in the household because the child in question was reading HP or watching Pokemon. I've seen it. I know one person in particular who got traumatized by his mother because when his mother accidentally burned the kitchen one night, the child in question was reading fantasy fiction—and she blamed it on him. This is why all of these teaching is so toxic, so destructive, and so counterproductive.

As a Christian I am unashamedly committed to a supernatural worldview. I do believe there's such a thing as the occult and that there's such a thing as demonic activity. But not in cartoons. Not in fiction—but rather in worldviews and patently obvious types of behaviors. It is time for Christian parents to start reading more serious literature instead of these piece of silly propaganda that is so, so bad not even the Chinese Communist Party or the North Korean government could make it up. It is that bad.

"Not for the faint of heart," as they say. And definitely one where prayer is recommended prior to reading. Take it very seriously. 'Amen.

This book is not melodramatic it's not watered down or luke warm.
This book is tough love... it's real.
This book is not written to pacify the lazy and lethargic those who are cozy in their own sin

This book is written to awaken the Christians who settle for less then God's best
This book is written to awaken those who are mesmerized by the allure of the occult

We are in the world but not of it~ John 15:19- If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.

All to often the church,Christians mix in with the world, the flesh and the devil...the occult.
It has become common place for Christians to join in the media, movies, books ex..idolizing zombies, vampires and such while laying aside their time in prayer, Bibles, church, Godly social activities.

God does not want to take away our fun. God want us to have the joy of Jesus forever not a momentary cheap fling that destroys the body, dulls the mind while dragging your soul lower then the grave! You don't have to place your hand in fire to know it's hot!!!

Proverbs 11:27 If you search for good, you will find favor; but if you search for evil, it will find you!

Repent? Run away from sin seek after God and he will seek after you.

I ask you are you training up your kids or are you letting the TV, computer, their peers to teach them the ways of the world leading them to Vanity Fair to feast on the poison of the fruit of darkness?

1 John 4:1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

Try every spirit by the Holy Spirit to see if it is of God, be not deceived there are only 2 powers- the power of God and the power of satan, anything I mean anything that does not proclaim Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior is an anti-christ spirit!

Fall at the foot of the cross, fall into the arms of love in the arms of Jesus and live... John 3:16-21

Matthew 16:26 For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

Definitely reveals many secrets of the occult and certain practices that keep people bound, demonized and oppressed. She describes the implications of engaging in some of the common day practices that are masked in various forms to get people to practice witchcraft and things of the occult out of ignorance. A definite eye opening message and a page turner.

I basically read this book for the lulz and because of a list that has been around the internet that comes from this book. Also, you are basically going to hell if you are an Indigenous person. Thanks Cindy Jacobs. :/
