- If you love cozy mysteries I feel like you’ll love this one. The pacing was slower than typical thrillers that I’m used to reading, but it’s the perfect vibe for the fall season.
- This is a new author to me and it won’t be the last time I pick up a book of theirs! This book gave scooby doo and the gang vibes in the sense that the stakes were low and just felt fun to try to figure out.
- Really love how this book had so many things outside of the mystery that kept me invested!

I love a good cozy. A light romance is helpful sometimes. Small town politics and secrets. Enjoyed the various character plights. Had a little trouble connecting with the main character given her entry into the story but it shows promise.

Un cosy mystery que j'ai trouvé sympa bien qu'un peu lent ? C'était pile poil ce que je voulais pour l'ambiance petite ville mais j'ai trouvé que l'enquête était un peu longuette à démarrer et à prendre son rythme. Pareil pour la romance qui est finalement un élément loin d'être central. En gros, j'ai passé un bon moment mais c'était pas assez centré sur l'enquête pour que ça soit vraiment le cosy mystery que j'attendais et c'était pas non plus assez centré sur la romance pour que je le classe en romance mystery mdrr. C'est peut-être juste moi qui suis chiante hein, ça serait pas nouveau. En tout cas, une chouette lecture mais rien d'absolument révolutionnaire :)

I'm clearly on a fall kick at the moment, and A Cinnamon Falls Mystery didn't disappoint! The cute, small town vibes were very strong in this one - I could practically smell the cinnamon while reading it, and if I wasn't craving autumn treats before, I really am now!
My last fall-themed small town book was a straight up romance, but what I really enjoyed in this one was the addition of a murder mystery.
We've got the classic storyline of a woman who returns to her hometown after a bad break up, to find her ex is now an officer. The tension is immediately there, but it gets stronger after she's forced to work with him when the owner of the diner, someone they are both very close to, is found brutally murdered.
I love a good "lighthearted" TV murder - that sounds ridiculous, doesn't it?! But you know the kind I mean: Midsomer Murders, Death in Paradise, Madame Blanc Mysteries. And this fits the bill perfectly for me. A little bit of romance alongside a good mystery, plus a cosy atmosphere - just what you need for a good night in, in my opinion!
The only issue I had with this book was the recklessness of Nia, the main character - she kept ending up in situations that were either dangerous or stupid, for example, sneaking onto crime scenes because she wanted to know more. Maybe that's just my personality (always a stickler for the rules!), but it didn't gel with me and felt like it was there to drive the plot forward in places.
The cast of characters was fantastic - especially Midnight, the cat, always an excellent addition, I say! There are more books to be set in this small town and I'm excited to see more of the eclectic characters and their stories.

This was a DNF for me. The heroine is back in town and runs into her ex, but the way it was written was just...weird? The initial meeting when she came back home with her ex was odd and didn't seem like a big deal at all, and then the way other characters were written were just so odd and definitely left a bad taste in my mouth. I got to the murder and then just couldn't continue.

I’m sad to say that this really didn’t work for me. I didn’t connect to the mystery or the romance, and this didn’t seem like it fit as a cozy mystery so much as just crime fiction, especially since there were multiple murders.

Una lectura otoñal muy esperada que ha despuntado en algunos aspectos... y en otros, quizás no tanto.
Es un libro que se ha promocionado tanto desde el punto de vista del cozy mystery como del romántico, así que no tenía claro del todo qué esperar.
Las primeras páginas me recordaron mucho a una comedia romántica, tanto por cómo están escritas como por la situación de la protagonista femenina, que después de años viviendo en la ciudad, decide volver al pueblo de su infancia y adolescencia, pueblo donde la esperan su familia, y un montón de amigos que dejó atrás, e incluso un ex.
Sin embargo, es cierto que, conforme pasaban las páginas, la historia toma mucha más forma de misterio. En mi opinión, es por encima de todo un libro de misterio que además contiene una trama romántica. O puede ser que me haya quedado esa sensación porque para mí la relación romántica... Ni fu ni fa. Sobre el papel, todo bien. Es decir, no hay red flags ni nada flagrante que me haya hecho odiarla, pero simplemente me ha dejado un tanto fría.
Esto puede deberse también a que no he conectado demasiado con los personajes, ni con ella ni con él (aunque quizás con él un poco más). De nuevo, no tienen nada de malo per se, sino que sencillamente tampoco han tenido nada particularmente especial.
Lo que sí me ha parecido un punto fuerte es la ambientación. Es estupendamente otoñal (¿un pueblo ubicado al lado de un bosque de árboles de canela? ¡El paraíso!), con su cascada, sus negocios pequeños, los vecinos cotillas siempre dispuestos a chismorrear y también a ayudar.
No obstante, toda esa atmosfera tan acogedora palidece un poco por culpa del misterio, y es que no es tan ligero como cabría esperar de un cozy mystery.
Con esto me refiero a que la protagonista está especialmente implicada en el caso por motivos emotivos y sentimentales para ella, además de que el caso que se resuleve en el libro está relacionado con otro del pasado de la prota que la afectó muchísimo. Por este motivo, sentimos ese duelo de la prota como algo más pesado de lo que habitualmente encontramos en el género, lo cual lo vuelve todo un poco más gris, un poco menos divertido, ligero y acogedor.
Por otro lado, el misterio en sí mismo me ha parecido bien construido y desarrollado. Al final, todas las piezas encajan y los pequeños detalles diseminados a lo largo de la historia cobran sentido, así que está bien ejecutado en ese sentido.

3,5 estrellas. Después de un par de lecturas muy intensas, necesitaba desconectar con otro tipo de libro y me apetecía algún libro más “suave” y que me recordarse al otoño, así que decidí darle una oportunidad a este libro. En general, cumplió su función.
Siendo un cozy mistery sabía que no iba a encontrarme con un gran misterio o mucha tensión pero aún así consiguió sorprenderme con algunos detalles, otros se vieron venir muy pronto, y engancharme. Además, para estar dentro del cozy, me pareció un poquito gris (no llegó a oscuro del todo), cosa que me gustó mucho.
Ambientado en un pueblo pequeño, esperé un poquito más un ambiente otoñal, pero en ese sentido, la historia se centró más en el suceso que ocurre.
Jesse y Nia, protagonistas de esta historia, no me disgustaron pero me hubiese gustado conectar un poco más con ellos y llegar a conocerlos más. Y eso me repercutió en la parte romántica, ya que para mi gusto no se profundizó lo suficiente.
Aún así consiguieron sacarme más de una sonrisa, sobre todo la familia de Nia o su mejor amiga que me gustaron mucho.
Como decía al principio, necesitaba desconectar, leer casi sin pensar y este libro lo cumplió perfectamente. Fue de fácil lectura y el suceso que pasó en el pueblo hizo que me costase parar de leer. De hecho, llegó un momento en el que me costó parar y lo que me quedaba lo leí del tirón.
Por eso y por las buenas sensaciones que me dejó el final, me alegro de haberlo leído. Estos libros siempre vienen bien.

This books was nothing special, actually pretty forgetable, the action was kinda predictable and the mystery felt underdeveloped. BUT it was enjoyable, quick read and it fit right into the November vibe.

Previzibil in ceea ce priveste relatia lui Nia si Jesse, dar nu m-a deranjat. Pareau ca ar face un cuplu frumos impreuna. Iubirea lor nu a disparut nici macar o secunda.🫶🏻
Nu atat de previzibila pentru crima din oras. Nu de la inceput, cel putin. Pe parcurs am inceput sa fac mici legaturi. 👀
Chiar mi-a dat o stare buna cartea asta. Am inceput cu astepari joase din cauza copertei care seama cu cele ale cartilor scrise de Laurie Gilmore, iar mie nu prea mi-a placut ce am citit de la ea.🙈 Uite ce inseamna sa judeci o carte dupa coperta!🤣

The town’s murder, on the other hand, wasn’t as predictable—at least not at first. As the story went on, I started making small connections here and there. 👀
This book actually put me in a really good mood. I started it with low expectations because the cover reminded me of those on Laurie Gilmore’s books, and I haven’t really enjoyed what I’ve read from her.🙈
Well, this just goes to show what it means to judge a book by its cover!🤣

Denna romance mysdeckare bjuder absolut på den där mysiga känslan, och även på en underbar höstatmosfär. Vi får flera mord, amatörer som försöker lösa mordet före de odugliga poliserna, samt en second chance romance. Jag hade höga förväntningar på denna bok, då det är en kombination av allt jag älskar. Men jag känner att det nog kanske blev lite för mycket att leva upp till. Boken visste inte riktigt vilken genre den skulle fokusera på, och lyckas inte helt kombinera dem båda. Kände mig tyvärr förvirrad stora delar av boken, då det var lite väl många karaktärer. Karaktärer som inte var så minnesvärda, vilket gjorde att man blandade ihop dem. Jesse och Nias romans hamnar också i skymundan, vilket jag tyckte var lite trist. Bra avslut ändå, gillade avslöjandet och de oväntat mörka morden för en mysdeckare. Detta är första delen i en serie, och jag tycker andra boken låter intressant i sin synopsis! Författaren finner förhoppningsvis sin röst mer i andra boken 🙏🏼

Gostei muito deste livro!!! É aquele típico romance com mistério super viciante que eu adoro 🫶🏼
Super temático do outono (I mean, temos homicídios na cidade e o presidente quer continuar com o Festival de Outono 👀🤣)! É extremamente viciante e fofo (second chance 👀🤭). Temos mesmo muiiito mistério e investigação à mistura, tornando difícil de pousar o livro!!
Estou muito curiosa para os próximos! 🥰

It was so bad i want to give it a zero, but that’s not possible, so i’ll give it… a one ✨
Has the author watched or read a murder mystery like, ever? I went into this hoping for a cozy fall read, but i just couldn’t get into it. I never felt connected to the characters, there were too many plotholes, and half the time people were acting completely out of character (You're telling me our mc Nia had no problem breaking into a literal crime scene while working at a LAW firm??). Make it make sense.
Also, there was one line that really threw me off: while investigating, a character said, “I hope whoever did this gets the needle.” Maybe it’s just me, but that felt way too dark for a supposed cozy mystery and i couldn't stop thinking about it for the rest of the book.
Anyways, save yourself the frustration and pick literally any other cozy mystery if you want a fun fall read.

Ljubezen v Cimetovem Dolu sem kupila zaradi naslovnice, čisto po pravici povem. Dobro veste, da me jeseni in v času res prepričajo najbolj kičaste naslovnice, sama vsebina takih romanov pa me največkrat razočara ali pusti vsaj ravnodušno. Ko začnem z branjem tovrstnih knjig, pričakujem klišeje in zelo predvidljivo zgodbo. S takšnimi pričakovanji sem spakirala tudi kovčke za Cimetov Dol, a sem enako, kot naša glavna junakinja Nia tam našla še marsikaj več.
Nia Bennett je odraščala v Cimetovem Dolu, majhnem mestecu, kjer se vse vrti okrog bližnjega nasada cimetovcev, glavni dogodek leta pa je vsakoletni jesenski festival. Nijina družina ima v lasti sladoledarno in Nia bi z lahkoto nadaljevala družinsko tradicijo, a jo je tragedija po koncu srednje šole na videz za vedno odgnala iz domačega mesta. Ko se njeno življenje v velikem mestu, z dobro službo in na videz popolnim partnerjem sesuje kot hišica iz kart, se Nia začasno vrne domov. Tam pa je ne pričaka le vonj cimeta in domačnost malega mesta, ampak tudi občutki krivde in obžalovanje, saj je ob begu od doma za seboj pustila marsikaj in marsikoga. Ko se v mestu zgodi okruten umor, Nia ve, da tokrat ne bo zbežala, ampak bo pogledala resnici naravnost v oči.
Ker v tem obdobju ravno gledam Gilmore girls, se mi je Cimetov Dol zdel sicer zelo domač, ampak narejen povsem po šabloni Stars Hollow-a in drugih filmskih in televizijskih ameriških majhnih mest v času jeseni. Pričakovala sem cel kup klišejev in pocukrano zgodbo, v bistvu pa se roman razvije v čisto solidno kriminalko, ki bi na nek način lahko spadala tudi v cosy mistery žanr. Zelo tekoč slog pisanja in dober prevod sta celotno bralno izkušnjo naredila zelo prijetno. To vsekakor ni roman, ki bo z mano ostal dolgo in o katerem bom velikokrat razmišljala, je pa najbrž najboljši jesenski roman, govorim seveda o teh takičastih, kar sem jih doslej prebrala. Tudi sama ljubezenska zgodba je čista, brez nepotrebnih vročih prizorov samo zavoljo mašenja zgodbe. Določeni razpleti so mi bili seveda jasni že na začetku, je pa imel roman vsaj obilo zgodbe in zapletov, ki so ohranjali moje zanimanje.

Nia comes back from her break up she has forgotten all of the charming small town Cinnamon Fall has to offer her and meaning once again with all the friendly face but when the first murder strikes at Cinnamon Fall and a side note who will be next ? She takes charge on the case even after she was told not to by Jesse somehow they both end up working together.
This is a new author to me with no hate I honestly I do love a good mystery but I did not enjoyed it as much as I would like to. It gave a slow paced into the small town mystery romance. The romance between Nia and Jesse was more of a backstory than what was promised. Although they had their moments together I believe it would have been better to add a bit more to their story line. Yes it did give the fall season as promised such a cozy feel .

Misterio con aroma a canela es de esos libros que te envuelven desde la primera página con su mezcla deliciosa de intriga, calidez y ese toque acogedor que hace que quieras leerlo con una mantita y una taza caliente al lado. Killmore combina un misterio bien construido con un ambiente hogareño y personajes que se sienten vivos, cercanos y llenos de personalidad ☕️.
La historia gira alrededor de un caso aparentemente sencillo que, poco a poco, se va volviendo más complejo. Y lo mejor es cómo el misterio se entrelaza con momentos cotidianos, relaciones que evolucionan y detalles que hacen que el mundo del libro se sienta real y encantador 🍂. Hay pistas, secretos y giros que mantienen la curiosidad sin necesidad de caer en el drama excesivo.
Lo más guay del libro es la atmósfera: esa mezcla entre lo dulce y lo intrigante. Es un cozy mystery con carácter propio, que te hace sonreír mientras sigues tratando de resolver quién está detrás de todo 👀.
Me ha encantado el tándem que han formado Nia y Jesse, como los 2 a pesar de sus diferencias del pasado, forman un equipo para hacer justicia y averiguar quién está cometiendo los crímenes en Cinnamon Falls. A medida que intentan desentrañar qué está pasando, se topan con pistas, secretos y personajes peculiares 👮♂️🙍🏻♀️.
En resumen, es una lectura ligera, entretenida y muy bien equilibrada, perfecta para quienes disfrutan de los misterios con encanto, buen ritmo y un ambiente que te abraza mientras te hace pensar.

The story follows Nia, returning to her hometown after moving away, and Jesse, her ex boyfriend and now cop in Cinnamon Falls. Shortly after her arrival home, beloved town member, Rosie, is mysteriously murdered late at night in her own cafe.
The writing was really well done; the story flowed perfectly. Such a great little read. Highly recommend this one 💛 thank you so much NetGalley for a copy of this book

Gostei muito, achei a história super interessante e desconfiei do culpado maaaaas, não aconteceu da forma que eu pensei, o que tornou tudo mais surpreendente!
Aspeto negativo, livro na terceira pessoa, consigo ler, porém, torna a leitura e compreensão mais lenta! Mas se aconselho a leitura?? MUITO 🤭

I liked it. It's a pleasant thriller with an autumn vibe that keeps you in suspense until the end you can't figure out who the murderer is and somehow I like that it ended in a happy ending where they find each other. It's a second chance in a small town.

I was really looking forward to this book after seeing it advertised; I love cozy mystery, and add to that the autumnal vibes, if sounded perfect for me.
The ideas for the book were spot on, however it fell flat in places for me. I found some of the characters motives difficult to fathom, and there were parts that didn’t add up in the plot.
However, it was an easy ready, so if you’re not too fussed at being stuck on the facts, this would be an ideal read.

Murder at Cinnamon Falls definitely has a cute premise, and the autumn vibes are exactly what the cover and description promise. It is a cozy mystery on the surface, but for me, the coziness never fully landed. The atmosphere was there… just not as warm or charming as I hoped.
Some parts of the plot just didn’t quite line up, and a few moments left me scratching my head. The beginning dragged on longer than it needed to, and I kept waiting for the story to finally get moving. It does pick up eventually, but by then it still felt like a pretty slow read overall.
Overall, it was a slow read. Not bad, just not as engaging or cozy as I expected. The potential is there, but it didn’t quite hit the mark for me.
