Princes of Avari #2
Blood Mated
She makes a bet with a powerful vampire billionaire for the money her family desperately needs. But he’s only playing for her.
Lucy
I didn’t technically steal from the arrogant vampire with glacial blue eyes—no matter what the security footage says.
We’re not strangers. He won tasting of me in the blood auction a couple of weeks ago, but then refused to drink, disappeared, and somehow never stopped haunting my thoughts.
So, when he demands repayment for the wallet he lost, I offer him a deal instead: one week living in my district, surviving life as a low fae, far from his luxury towers and designer suits. If he gives up before the week is over, he pays me enough to cover my mother’s expensive medication.
Easy money.
Men like him don’t survive my streets.
Except Valor refuses to break. Which makes no sense.
A man like him should have walked away days ago. Why is he still here?
Now, the stoic vampire keeps slipping beneath my defenses, awakening the dangerous pull of my siren-incubus bloodline. And the longer he stays close, the more I wonder if winning the bet was never the reason he accepted.
Valor
Business shark. Vampire prince. Heir to the McKinsington empire.
When my wallet disappears after a night at a club, I’m ready to hunt down the thief myself.
Then I realize it was her.
The same girl from the blood auction. The one I told myself I rescued out of obligation, not obsession. Yet weeks later, I still can’t forget the pink streaks in her hair or the unnatural green of her eyes.
Lucy thinks she’s challenging me to survive in her world.
What she doesn’t realize is that she’s just handed me exactly what I want: a week at her side, far from a world built on lies, power, and hollow connections.
Then I taste her blood.
And everything changes.
Because the savage need it awakens in me to protect her will never be satisfied with “for now.”
Now, I’m keeping her.
Blood Mated is book 2 in the interconnected standalone series Princes of Avari, in which powerful fae men discover they’d do anything for true love. Expect slowburn to spice, yearning, groveling, and a well-earned HEA.

Don't judge a book by its cover, or rather - in this case - by its title.
Let's be honest - "Blood Mated"? Not very original and not necessarily promising.
So why even bother?
Blurb and tags. After reading these I thought I'll give it a shot and that was a good decision.
One of the most peeving issues with most books is a prolongated beginning when it's hard to catch, what it all is about. E.G. Sparks doesn't have this issue. Everything is as clear as it should be at this moment of the story and action itself is dynamic since the very start.
Further a reader get all that's needed: family, two different worlds, some humour, building a relationship and some quasi-criminal drama. The novel is light, the pages simply flow before your eyes.
I didn't give 5 stars because of too many "coincidents" and too short time in which all the events occur. It actually reminded me "Twilight", not in a good way.
Overall, the book is reading worthy and I think I will add the other books of this Author to my TBR list.
I got a free copy as an ARC reader and I am leaving this review voluntarily and honestly.

Lucy and Valor don’t click immediately upon meeting. Their chemistry is hot and Valor is obsessed. But he’s a jerk and she makes him work for it. Valor is a vampire and Lucy is low fae. Normally that’s frowned upon but when the vampire prince wants someone, he gets them. Lucy’s life is complicated, between caring for her mom and twin sisters, she and her brother Tony are barely scraping by. When Valor ruins an opportunity for Lucy to make some extra cash for her mom’s medicine, a bet ensues. This is one of the best parts of the book. To see them work through their challenges and some of it is hilarious. Anyway I absolutely loved this book and am really looking forward to the next one. Lucy and Valor have a fight on their hands, with near death experiences, danger and misunderstandings, they’ll need all the luck they can get and a little love thrown in. But it’s totally worth it!

I absolutely ate this book up. The world building was amazing, and the cheeky banter had me grinning and laughing so much throughout. I just love the relationships between the characters develop. Im a sucker for a stubborn, grumpy-sunshine MMC paired with a loyal and fierce FMC any day! Great dark fantasy, vampires, lots of tension and yearning with a fair bit of spice. Would definitely recommend!

4.5- Book 2 of the Princes of Avari series, this is about Lucy and Valor. I like that one bet changed their lives for the better. I enjoyed Lucy’s honesty and sass, that Valor is protective, and puts in the work, unknowingly, to win her heart, and the support that they had throughout.

I really enjoyed this book. Lucy is a very unique shifter but she is a strong determined fae and will do anything for her family. Lucy and Valors story is entertaining and funny. Loved it
