The ColorWheel Project presents an engaging dystopian adventure built around three very different characters whose lives become unexpectedly intertwined in a world shaped by authoritarian control, hidden identities, and the struggle for free will.

One of the book’s strongest elements is the contrast between Blair, Maddox, and Beazle. Blair is a musician living within the unconventional ColorWheel commune, Maddox has grown up isolated from the truth about his own world, and Beazle has been forced into the dangerous inner workings of ARC. Their dramatically different circumstances create three distinct perspectives on freedom, authority, and personal identity.

The story becomes particularly compelling when ARC kidnaps Maddox’s parents, bringing the three characters together and setting them on an unpredictable journey. Their circumstances force them to confront secrets, question the systems controlling their lives, and reconsider what they understand about themselves and the world around them.

I also appreciated the book’s exploration of free will and resistance. ARC’s influence over Belle-Delta provides a strong dystopian backdrop, while the characters’ personal struggles make the larger conflict feel intimate and consequential. The combination of adventure, mystery, authority, family conflict, and self-discovery gives the novel broad thematic appeal.

With 272 pages and a current 4.00 Goodreads rating from 1 rating, The ColorWheel Project has an encouraging initial response while still having considerable room to develop a larger reader community.

Overall, The ColorWheel Project offers a thought-provoking dystopian adventure that combines contrasting characters, hidden truths, authoritarian control, and the pursuit of free will into a story about resisting the forces that seek to define who we are.

The ColorWheel Project presents an engaging speculative adventure centered on three characters whose lives could hardly be more different until circumstances force them together. Blair, Maddox, and Beazle each exist within very different environments, giving the story multiple perspectives on freedom, authority, personal choice, and the realities that shape our lives.

Blair is a local rock star in the free commune of ColorWheel, where she hopes to escape her overbearing father and pursue her passion for music with her girlfriend. Maddox's experience is almost the opposite. Living in Belle-Delta, a city controlled by the megalopoly ARC, he has been kept secret from the world around him while also being sheltered from the truth about that world.

Beazle provides another fascinating perspective. She works within ARC's underbelly, carrying out the dirty work associated with controlling its population, despite having been forced into that life by her own sister. These contrasting circumstances make the eventual meeting of the three characters particularly intriguing.

When ARC kidnaps Maddox's parents, their separate worlds collide and the three are pushed into a whirlwind adventure. Their pursuit of free will requires them to confront dangerous secrets, overreaching authorities, and difficult truths about themselves while attempting to save not only their own lives but the entire city of Belle-Delta.

At 272 pages, The ColorWheel Project offers a focused reading experience built around adventure and larger questions of freedom and control. Overall, it is an intriguing speculative story for readers who enjoy contrasting characters, oppressive systems, personal transformation, and high-stakes journeys.
