Firstly I would just like to say a massive thank to @BGreenAuthor for allowing me to be a ARC reader for your book Circus Of Dreams ❤️
OMG!! OMG!! OMG!! This book is everything and more. I thought it would go one way but it went the exact opposite. I don’t want to say to much as I don't want to spoil the reading experience for everyone but that ending 😮😮😮😮😮 I need more 😭 100% will be reading book 2 when it's out. I highly recommend this book it was a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ read for me, and I still can not get over that ending I actually screamed at my kindle 'no no no I need more, you can't end like this, why why WHY!!!' 🤣🤣 Here's is what this book is all about if you would like to read it - Tropes - Fated mates - enemies to lovers - vampire X Vampire Hunter - Exhibitionism - light BDSM - forced proximity - Alpha hole

I received this book as an ARC, and it was my first one! Im such a sucker for vampires, it immediately caught my eye. I mean fates mates, vampire x vampire hunter and darkest desires? Who could resist!
Overall I enjoyed the story line, though it did feel a little rushed at times. It is the first book in a series, with a bit of a cliff hanger at the end, but I thought it wrapped up kinda nicely and could see it as a stand alone. Im curious to see what else is in store for Danni and Knox, and where their story will take them!
Guyyyys- this one threw me by surprise!!! I went in not expecting much as I had never heard of it but I was intrigued with the synopsis. Boy am I glad I picked this one up. This one is dark and twisted- but I love pretty much everything with a circus! Add vamps and I’m in!
Update: 09/04/2025 changing to 5 stars because i haven’t stopped thinking of this book
——————- WAIT... okay, this book was way better than I first thought. The first few chapters had me going “what the f**k am I reading?” because I could not wrap my head around the chaos.
I kept thinking “why did she write it like this,” but I GET IT. I totally get it now and I love the way this book starts. I want to reread it to see all the clues I missed.
•Fated mates •vampire x vampire hunter •enemies to lovers •light BDSM/exhibitionism •forbidden love •possessive MMC
I have so many questions and so much to say but I refuse to give any spoilers. I need book 2 ASAP.
It is like Twilight, Interview with a Vampire, and something I have quite pinned down all got together for a party.
Also, this book would make a great movie. Just saying 🤷🏻♀️
I don’t know what I expected going it but it wasn’t what I got. I mean that in the best way. I loved coming up with all sorts of theories while reading only to have my mind BLOWN at the end. That cliff hanger was amazing.
I have so many questions and so much to say but I refuse to give any spoilers.
Ummm 🤨 Based on the dark circus cover, I thought this would be way darker than it is at this point. But instead, it feels so bland and so just nothing. This felt like someone threw me into the middle of a book instead of me starting a new one. And the insta-love? Nope. 🙂↔️
This was FUN and dark and mysterious. Very much a mood and vibe read that I couldn’t put it down. I feel like I’m being generous with my rating but the twist and vibes really made this book for me.
Once every 15 years, a strange circus comes to Hillsview … but when people leave, they don’t remember anything about the attractions. After years of searching for the vampire who killed her mom, Danni finds herself attending this mysterious circus that might just be more than she bargained for. Not only does the circus line up with the date and timeline of her mom’s murder, but Danni can’t help the draw she feels toward the ringmaster in this thrilling game of revenge vs. love.
I devoured this. I didn’t know what to expect going into it but I will say that I did not expect to cry at the ending 😭 I loved the mystery of it all (particularly the underlying mystery you didn’t even know to be looking for— there was a point in the middle where the plot twist clicked for me in an OMG moment 🥹😭 and then I immediately binged the rest of the book).
It somehow wrapped up so nicely (😭), but still left me with many questions. Since this is a series, I’m hoping the rest of the books fill in those gaps and answers some questions I still have.
ok but back to that plot twist 😭
𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁: 🖤 enemies to lovers 🖤 forced proximity 🖤 vampires 🖤 dark and mysterious
This was Green’s debut novel, so I will cut her some slack and I am also a bit more forgiving with indie authors because they have to pay for everything themselves up front.
The premise is good, but the execution falls very short. I am someone who loves a fast paced book where not a lot of time is spent on describing wallpaper, however, if you want to create a fantasy realm, and the Circus of Dreams is that, then you need to world build. I need something more, for the first 50 pages I was utterly confused by clowns on bikes and what actually was happening.
The once they left that, it still confused me because I couldn’t figure out if they were in one house where everyone just lived together magically or what.
There was very little character description or world building - in short it felt half baked. The ingredients were there, but the souffle collapsed because it was taken out too early. The editing was also not great - both development and line. “Heir of arrogance” is not correct, and there were some continuation issues here and there - nothing that bothered me too much, but I do feel they need to be pointed out.
B. Green does have potential, and I can see a marked difference between Circus of Dreams and The House of Grenville. While I wouldn’t normally continue a series where I rate book 1 less than 4 stars, I will make an exception, because I can see the potential, plus the mystery is very intriguing.
Deep seeded kink unlocked. Vampires feeding on human lovers is hot.
Danni is a journalist, she’s investigating the person, nay the thing that murdered her mother. A vampire! Danni goes to circus that pops up once every 15 years, which happens to be exactly when her mum died, and finds a lot more than she bargained for. Namely Knox, a bad in vampire form. What follows is a fever dream of fear, blood and lust.
B Green is a masterful writer, she hooks you from the first line and what she can express in 200ish words rivals that of the romantasy darlings. This book has it all; yearning, forbidden love, mates, danger, light BDSM, vampire/vampire slayer. It’s all there. I challenge you not to adore Danni and Knox and basically be disgusted by the circus as a whole. Creepy clown vamps, no thank you!!! The only thing I have to say against Miss Green is that she ended on such a cliffhanger and now I have to wait for book two! ABOMINABLE!!!
Thank you for the opportunity to review this book for you B Green ♥️
This book had been wild, dark, and honestly unforgettable. The whole vibe of Hillsview felt vivid and dangerous, and the circus atmosphere gave me chills in the best way. The banter between Knox and Danni had been so sharp and full of tension that I kept grinning at every scene they shared. I adored how the story managed to be spicy without even needing explicit scenes. The ending caught me off guard and I sat there just staring at the page. I loved that the world building had been so immersive, and I could feel myself getting lost inside it. B. Green really outdid herself here. Thank you so much to the author for giving me the opportunity to read the book in advance, I received this for free and I'm leaving an honest review.
Note: This is an ARC review. Thank you for much to the author for giving me the opportunity to read this book!
3.75⭐️
Oh. My. Gosh. I LOVE IT!! I truly did not expect to like this book as I wasn't as sold with the first few chapters. But once the action started? I was LOCKED in. Danni and Knox truly are perfect. And with that little twist? Chef's kiss.
One thing I would have liked is having more focus on Danni's main motivation when she first started. It felt like it was outshined by her relationship/experience with Knox :'( It was actually one of the reasons why I wasn't as entranced at first.
Overall, it was a decent light read and I can't wait for the 2nd book!
Circus of Dreams was such a fun dark escape. The circus setting was creepy, magical, and I loved following Danni as she went from curious journalist to total badass. Her bond with Knox? Complicated, messy, and just the right amount of spicy. The vampires felt layered and dangerous, especially The Five, who kept the tension high. Overall, this gave me mystery, drama, and a dose of heat. I can’t wait for book 2!
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Damn that ending was perfect even though it ends on a cliffhanger! 🌶 🌶 wow, this is perfect if you love mystery/thriller vibes in a fantasy book! -vampire x vampire hunter -forced proximity -mystery circus -trials -fated mates
She enters the circus seeking revenge for her mother but ends up stuck in a world she knows nothing about. She is stuck with vampires, and she knows one of them murdered her mother.
While competing in these trials, she deals with a bond she doesn't want but can't escape and looks for her mother's killer.
From the dedication alone, I was fully immersed into this story. There was suspense and allure from the very first page & each chapter left me needing more!! Not to mention, THAT ENDING 😭 I need need need book 2 ASAP 🤭
Danni as the FMC was brilliant!! She was strong-willed, feisty, had insane banter and dry humour so funny that I was giggling out loud 🤣 I knew I was going to love Knox. Imagine TVD Season 1 Damon but darker, deadlier & hotter 🥵
The world-building was beautiful. I really felt as if I was trapped in a haunted circus alongside Danni 🎪 This book had a bit of everything I love - vampires, mystery, magic, betrayals and don’t get me started on the sexual tension 🌶️ The spice?! *chefs kiss*
Thank you so much for the opportunity to ARC read Circus of Dreams! 🩸🎪
DNF - I really tried, I want to support indie authors but when a story really frustrates me, I can't push myself to finish. Then I just become resentful.
From the very beginning, it set a bad taste in my mouth. Because it starts with a reporter...interviewing a vampire...hmm..I wonder where we would have seen that before! So while Knox is the one being interviewed at the very beginning of the story, most of the POV is through Danni. But how would he know what to share if it is through someone else's perspective and personal feelings and innermost thoughts? Then there are interspersed chapters with Knox's POV but it is during the actual story time line and never goes back to when he is being interviewed.
Danni's main motivation is to find her mother's killer. And that is basically her entire personality. Someone's whose mother was fridged so she can learn how to be her own version of a private eye-cum-reporter-cum-vampire hunter. While it is her only real motivation in this story, we don't know anything about her relationship with her mother or how her mother's death truly affected her. She made it her life's mission to avenge her mother's death but we know nothing about their relationship, don't know what happened to her as a kid or even how old she was at the time. Just that she had to take care of herself, taught herself to fight, and did her own research finding vampires. So there are no emotional stakes (ha!) and Danni just ends up being insufferable. Not to mention, her mother's death had NOTHING to do with the circus! She was just killed by a vampire and this is literally the only lead Danni found when it came to finding real life vampires and what are the odds that this golden opportunity could just happen to hold information about her mother's death? Not like there would be different groups of vampires around the world or anything.
I can understand that Danni isn't supposed to have stuff revealed to her right off the bat, that she is just in the dark as the reader is but she is a REPORTER. She doesn't use her observational skills or deductive reasoning or make NICE with people. It is like she even forgot what her job was because there are times she even forgot she was supposed to be investigating what happened to her mom!! She was too busy being caught up in escaping or Knox or infuriating him. The trope is trying to be enemies to lovers but really it is just misfired miscommunication contrived tension.
The worldbuilding is also slapdash and confusing. Knox actively chose Danni to be his candidate for Familiar and yet there are multiple people competing in some Hunger Games-like competition? Where are those people kept? If there are multiple candidates per vampire, are they housed with their potential master or are they all housed together? If Knox doesn't want anyone to know that Danni is his mate, wouldn't the fact that their bedrooms are in the same suite raise any red flags?? If vampires can smell feelings in blood, can't they smell the bond anyway? Supposedly they aren't supposed to "prep the humans for feeding" but...why? If the worldbuilding suggests that vampires get sick drinking blood from humans with fear, doesn't it make sense to prep them in terms of health and safety?
I thought 200 pages would be a short read but when it is a slog even getting through the first half, I should have known it was time to quit while I was ahead.

🌍 𝕎𝕠𝕣𝕝𝕕 𝕓𝕦𝕚𝕝𝕕𝕚𝕟𝕘, 𝕨𝕣𝕚𝕥𝕚𝕟𝕘 𝕒𝕟𝕕 𝕡𝕒𝕔𝕚𝕟𝕘:
Overall I enjoyed the storyline, though it did feel a little rushed at times I kept thinking “why did she write it like this,” but now I GET IT. When I got to the last page I completely understood and I love the way this book starts. I wish I had paid more attention to the start now to grab all the clues I missed rather than just reading through it because I didn't see the point of that style of introduction AT THAT TIME. But it's important and you will get it!
The plot was there, and it was strong, but there wasn't enough meat on it for my top rating. However, I am currently excited about book two, if I had it in my grasp I'd read it immediately but it's one of those stories that could very well be forgotten about if I waited too long and there wasn't enough drama to pull me back to needing to read the next one if it took a year to come out.
The main thing that bugged me was that We don't know anything about the FMC's relationship with her mother or how her mother's death truly affected her growing up. She made it her life's mission to avenge her mother's death but we know nothing about how she came to gain all the knowledge she currently has, or the skills or even basic family history/memories.
And the second point that wasn't explained well was that we get a group of trials for a set number of people to compete in how are they chosen? Or why? Once selected how do they choose who they compete for or is it chosen for them? Does the 5 have any say in who competes? Can they swap or change or add or remove people? This part of the story was very weak for me as I just kept getting more questions with no answers. If there are multiple candidates per vampire, are they housed with their potential master or are they all housed together?
The last thing that bothered me was That the audience needed to be prepped or fed or something- but why? And how? And how long for? The worldbuilding suggests that vampires get sick drinking blood from humans with fear but do they get a boost from other emotions or something?
⏳ 𝕎𝕠𝕦𝕝𝕕 𝕚 𝕣𝕖-𝕣𝕖𝕒𝕕 𝕠𝕣 𝕣𝕖𝕔𝕠𝕞𝕞𝕖𝕟𝕕? Tough one, not sure if I would re-read. I was done in like 2/3 hours but I can't see the need to pick it up again. However, I would recommend it to the right people yes.
🪧𝔽𝕚𝕟𝕒𝕝 𝕥𝕙𝕠𝕦𝕘𝕙𝕥𝕤: I loved the trials and the world in the circus, I loved the hierarchy and the whole power set up but I feel like this should have been a prequel, what I mean by that is it was that strong of a premise that I wish there was more. More depth, more history, more lore, I wish everything was drawn out that little bit longer and that the whole book was a good 200 pages more.
✨Arc Review✨ Thank you to the author B. Green for sending me this digital ARC in exchange for an honest review.

A Darkly Enchanting Ride Into the Heart of Illusion
B. Green’s Circus of Dreams is a rare literary gem — a story that beckons with wonder and dazzles with beauty, only to slowly reveal the darkness stitched into its seams. From the very first line, I was pulled into a world that feels at once dreamlike and perilously real, where nothing is ever quite as it seems, and every glimmer of magic comes with a shadowed cost.
The setting is spellbinding. Green paints the circus in vivid, intoxicating detail — silken tents billowing under moonlight, strange music drifting on the wind, and a carousel that seems to spin just a little too long. The imagery is lush and immersive, but beneath all the splendor lies a constant undercurrent of unease. This is not a place for the faint of heart. It is a place of secrets, illusions, and deals struck in whispers.
What impressed me most is how masterfully Green builds suspense. This isn’t the kind of fear that jumps out at you — it’s the slow, creeping dread that settles into your bones and stays there. Every act, every character, every carefully orchestrated performance feels like part of a greater puzzle, one the reader is desperate to solve — even as the answers grow more disturbing.
The characters are as richly drawn as the world they inhabit. From the enigmatic ringmaster who always seems to be watching, to the performers whose talents blur the line between human and otherworldly, each figure is layered with secrets and sadness. Even the protagonists — drawn into the circus by chance or fate — carry ghosts of their own. Their arcs are compelling and emotionally resonant, and the deeper they fall into the circus’s grasp, the more we feel the tension ratcheting up toward a climax that is as stunning as it is inevitable.
There’s something almost hypnotic about the way Green writes. The prose is lyrical, elegant, and atmospheric — a perfect match for the eerie beauty of the story. The pacing is deliberate, allowing each revelation to land with quiet impact, and each twist to feel both surprising and earned.
By the time the final curtain falls, Circus of Dreams has done far more than tell a story — it’s cast a spell. It leaves the reader haunted, questioning what was real, and what was merely illusion. And perhaps most chilling of all: wondering whether some dreams are better left undreamt.
If you love stories that dance on the edge of fantasy and horror, that lure you in with beauty and keep you there with mystery, Circus of Dreams is an unforgettable journey. Don’t miss your chance to enter — just be careful. Once you step inside, the circus doesn’t easily let you go.
🎭 The Mysterious Circus – A magical, otherworldly circus that arrives without warning and hides secrets behind every tent flap.
🧥 The Charismatic Yet Creepy Ringmaster – A central figure who seems to know everything and controls far more than he lets on.
🌒 Dreamlike Atmosphere – A surreal, almost hallucinatory setting that blurs the line between reality and illusion.
🎟️ “You Can Enter, But You May Never Leave” – The classic trap of a place that lures you in but won’t let you go.
💫 Found Family (With a Twist) – Performers form tight bonds, but loyalty is often tested under the spotlight.
🐍 Beautifully Dangerous Magic – Enchantments that are as alluring as they are deadly.
Thank you to the author for providing an advance reader copy (ARC) in exchange for an honest review.

This book follows Danni, a woman who has dedicated her life to avenging her mother's murder at the hands of a vampire. Her quest has led her to become a journalist, hoping to uncover information that could lead her to the supernatural underworld. Her efforts are largely fruitless until an assignment sends her to a mysterious circus that materializes only once every fifteen years—a place where visitors often leave with no memory, if they leave at all.
Inside, Danni discovers the circus is a horrifying spectacle used by vampires to harvest the blood of its patrons. A select few humans are chosen for a competition to become "familiars," forced to perform in a show designed to sweeten the blood of the audience. To her horror, Danni is selected as a contender. She finds herself competing in a nightmare contest to be bound to a powerful vampire who, in a cruel twist of fate, also happens to be her fated mate.
Highlights:
✨ Concept & Atmosphere: The idea of a gothic vampire circus is both dark and fun. I loved that the magic system was so unique, with trials shaped by each contestant's personal nightmares and their private quarters shaped by their deepest desires. The setting was incredibly imaginative.
✨ The Romance: The chemistry between the main characters was compelling and their relationship felt believable, especially Danni's internal conflict between her genuine feelings and the influence of the mating bond. The tension and yearning were well done.
Pain Points:
➖ The "Vampire Hunter": I struggled with the main character repeatedly calling herself a vampire hunter. She had never actually encountered a vampire before this, let alone fought one. Having a desire for revenge doesn't automatically grant you the title.
➖ The Framing Device: The narrative jumps between the "present day" and the past, with the main story being a retelling of events. The transitions between these timelines were often jarring and pulled me out of the immersion.
➖ The Ending: The conclusion was very abrupt. A good cliffhanger leaves you eager for more, but this ending simply left me confused about what had just happened.
Overall:
This was definitely more of a "vibes" read for me. Despite a few issues, I enjoyed the unique concept and the romance enough that I will likely continue the series to see what happens next.
The story follows Danni, a journalist determined to avenge her mother after she was killed by vampires, but unexpectedly falls into the clutches of Knox, a heir to a vampire coven who happens to be her mate. What follows is a dark, twisted relationship that is put to the test by other vampires, secrets, and the truth about Danni's family.
I liked the length of this story! Green didn't draw out tension, fight scenes, or drama. She put them point blank and let the characters react, which I liked! Especially when it came to the action scenes, it wasn't overdone, overwhelming, or lengthy.
Danni was an interesting character, and her goals were clear, but I felt like her relationship with Knox didn't have a lot of clarity. It made sense to hate him, but her oscillation between hate and lust was too abrupt without much of a reason beyond the mate bond, so it makes me wonder if their feelings for each other extend beyond the mate bond or not. Also, there were times I felt like she was too cruel, particularly to the vampires who were dressing her and trying to help her. I understood her resentment, but those moments made her seem a bit immature.
The council was a concept I want to see more of! I'm curious to learn more about them, but apart from Knox, none of the other vampires particularly intrigued me. Even the ones Danni managed to form a tentative friendship with were a bit too flat, lacking much depth for me to empathize with them. Even the vampire who was formerly in a relationship with Knox had potential, but I felt like her segment of the story came and went too quickly - without much time for Danni to absorb her information.
As I mentioned before, I loved the fast pace, but I think the ending was just too fast. There wasn't enough time for me to understand that Danni had become another person, and her came out of nowhere! Those intervals where we got that present POV from Knox were kind of forced into the story, and I think flashbacks instead of separate chapters would have been much better.
Overall, I enjoyed this story! The tension was burning between Danni and Knox, just waiting to implode, and the yearning? Oh, it was the sweetest yearning I'd read in a long time!
First I want to give a big thank you to the author for allowing me to read the ARC of her story. I appreciate how much time and effort goes into writing a book and I believe a lot of people may thoroughly enjoy this read.
However, it breaks my heart to say I did not. My official rating is a 2.5 but I rounded up to a 3 star.
What I liked :
The concept of this story and the atmosphere are both amazing. I felt like the descriptions of the carnival and rooms throughout the story were vivid and the setting truly fit what the author was trying to do. I also enjoyed the idea of vampires using an adult only carnival for their binding process for familiars and feeding. I love a good vampire story and I love that this take was unique.
What I did not like :
The FMC calls herself a vampire hunter but she was absolutely not one. You can’t carry stakes & call yourself a hunter because you want revenge in my opinion, even if the reason you’re calling yourself that is because the vampires made a comment about it.
The romance was very meh to me. The mate bond was relayed so abruptly and then made to feel like a slow burn but it wasn’t. I did however like the internal battle the FMC had with her emotions. I also felt like the spicy scenes, while written well, were in awkward times in the book.
The repetition with certain phrases. I noticed the author would have a really good quote but then later in the book put it in again which to me kind of ruins it.
The pacing was so fast. Way too fast for me in my opinion. I didn’t feel like the story had time to develop and sit with me enough.
I did like some of the characters and the storyline but I felt like I didn’t get enough of them besides their random inner feelings being told. I’d rather be shown than told directly after a conversation.
~~ overall I feel like this book could be something a lot of people love because of the tropes, spice and storyline but I guess I’m a bit more cynical because while sometimes I read for vibes this just unfortunately didn’t hit for me. I probably won’t be continuing the series although the cliffhanger ending did leave me curious.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
This was such an intriguing story and I loved how different it was from what I've read. A very quick read that will quickly draw you in and leave you wishing you already had book 2 to devour. But please can we get more Knox? I NEED more Knox.
"You're deranged." "You have no idea. Let's save the dirty talk until after dinner, shall we?"

🎪Vampire MMC 🎪Fated Mates 🎪Forced Proximity 🎪Enemies to Lovers 🎪Cliffhanger
Danni is a journalist and has been tasked with writing up a story on the illusive circus that comes to town every 15 years. Preparing to find her mother's killer and let the whole world know what truly happens behind the scenes, she enters the Circus of Dreams where she isn't prepared for what lies ahead. Between the magic, twisted mind games, and hiding a secret, staying alive will be harder that she imagined.
Knox, the heir to the vampire coven that has been trapped underground. His goal has been to slowly draw the magic out of the coven so they will cease to exist. That is until Danni shows up. The last thing he imagined was to find his fated mate, a human at that. So now he has to try and keep her alive long enough to send her back to her world. But keeping that a secret will be harder that he imaged, because claiming her is all he wants to do. But doing so would almost certainly bring her a quick death from the other vampires.
I loved the intense draw between Danni and Knox. The banter and the slow burn was so good. But I was so sad it ended so quickly. And that cliffhanger was so cruel. After the confusion wore off of what just happened, I was left trying to turn a page that just wasn't coming. I need more of Knox and Danni ASAP. I need to know what happened. I need to know how they ended up how they did.
Thank you so much B. Green for gifting me an early reading copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
OMG!!! This book is amazing. This book is definitely a 18+ book.
It had me sucked in from the beginning.
We meet a journalist who is trying to find the person responsible for her mothers death. Then we meet a vampire. Well many vampires. lol. The story does revolve around a circus but what the circus is hiding is a whole different thing.
I was sad when I finished this book because it ends on a cliffhanger and it made me wonder what happened to the couple.
I cant wait to read book two.
If I could give this book a 10 star rating I would and also I would say it has a spice lv of maybe a 2. It doesn't get to insane but its there. Make sure to read the trigger warnings.

I have to start by saying this was my first read by this author so I went in blind. I knew it was fantasy, and being a dark romance girly, I wasn't sure at first. I was definitely down to give it a shot though and dove right in...and I'm glad I did! I went in with absolutely no expectations...turns out, there was some delicious spice in this story and I'm so here for it!
Overall, this was a really fun, fast-paced read with a twisty storyline that kept me entertained but also had me feeling a mix of emotions. Not even 10% in and I was gripping onto my seat because of the main characters and their story. From how they meet, to the backstories of them, to the spice that happens. I'm a new Rhiannon Hargadon fan!
This book is the the first one in this specific series. I will definitely be sticking around for the rest. I want to know what happens with these characters since it ended on such a big cliffhanger.
Bottomline: Its a fast amazing read. You wont regret reading this. Do make sure to read your trigger/content warnings.

I was kindly given a ARC copy of this book by the author in exchange for a honest review.
The first thing that sold me about this book aside from the blurb & the fact it had Vampires was the cover artwork. It’s eye catching & dramatic and I was intrigued. I also loved the title “Circus of Dreams”
I really enjoyed this book & (excuse the pun) devoured reading it in less than 48 hours. It was easy to read, enjoyable & gripping.
The story centres around Danni, she brutally lost her mother to a vampire attack, which coincidentally coincides with the arrival of a Circus every 15 years. Out for revenge, her day job as a journalist assigns her a job to report on the same circus and its imminent arrival. Whilst there she uncovers a whole lot of vampires & and her fated mate Knox, whilst being dragged into the Inbetween to compete in several trials to become Knox’s familiar.
What I like about this book: * the slow burn romance enemies to lovers trope (my favourite) the relationship scenes and build up with smatters of spiciness were perfection. * Knox Collard as a mysteriously sexy Vampiric Ringmaster his persona and masculine dominating energy are great & exactly what I love in a MMC. * The Inbetween: loved reading about the Vampire Law and its creation. * The Last Two chapters: leaving me with more questions then answers. The cliffhangers want me desperate to read the second book… * The sarky banter and one liners = top tier humour and really well written
Also fave quotes that had me cackling: 1) “Do you have to be so condescending? Not everyone is used to magical circus tents” 2) “Knowing my luck, the only weapon able to kill them will be a stake made from a thousand-year-old tree that can be found only in the most remote place on Earth. It also probably has to be blessed by the Pope or some shit”
B. Green’s Circus of Dreams is a deliciously twisted, intoxicating ride that sinks its fangs into you from the very first page. This isn’t just a vampire romance—it’s a heady blend of forbidden lust, vengeful fire, and fated connection, set beneath the velvety drapes of a circus tent where nothing is what it seems. The world-building sparkles with eerie allure: each detail of the circus springs to life, humming with secrets, temptation, and menace. Yet at its heart is Danni—fierce, wounded, determined—whose quest for revenge is thrown into chaos the moment she collides with the infuriatingly magnetic Knox. Their dynamic is a storm of enemies-to-lovers intensity, made even more addictive by the undeniable pull of fate.
Their romance burns hot, shameless, yet beautifully restrained. Exhibitionism, power plays, and light BDSM entwine seamlessly with raw vulnerability, balancing danger with desire. What could have been just another hunter-versus-monster tale instead transforms into something breathtakingly primal: a love story written in blood and fire, where hate and need blur until you can’t tell where one ends and the other begins. The tension between vengeance and surrender is drawn so tightly it thrums across the page, and when it finally snaps, the payoff is gorgeously exquisite.
Circus of Dreams is bold, sensual, and utterly unputdownable—a perfect marriage of gothic atmosphere, scorching chemistry, and heart-stopping stakes. For fans of fated mates and alpha-hole intensity, this book isn’t just a read, it’s an experience to be greedily ravaged in one sitting, preferably long into the night, as I did, unable to tear my eyes away.
Final verdict: A wickedly seductive masterpiece that will haunt and thrill you long after the final curtain falls.
Ummmm yes please!!!! This book is almost a solid 5. The only thing that didn’t make it a solid 5 is the rush cliffhanger……. I need more!!!! The cliffhanger this book left me on was not nice. I cannot wait for the next book. This starts off reminding me of an Interview with the Vampire feels where Knox (MMC) is having Miss Collard write down the story of Knox and his great love. Danni (MFC) is trying to avenge her mothers death and it goes through the story of how she was a journalist and was to go to the Circus of Dreams to figure out why no one can remember what happens or hasn’t reported on it as it comes through a town every 15 years. Of course there is the love/hate relationship between Knox (a vampire) and Danni (who hates vampires for killing her mom) and her on a mission to take them all down… but little does she know, she is mated to her enemy. This was such a fun read and I devoured it! I started it late on a Monday night and got through over half because I just couldn’t put it down. Then taking breaks at work, finished reading this fantastic book. The dedication was a little off to me. Talks about twilight but then references Buffy. Not a big deal and didn’t take away from the story but found the twilight reference odd. I want to say soooo much more about this boon but don’t want to spoil it for others as if I were to talk too much about the trials, it would give away some of the plot. I am so thankful I was able to read this book for my review. It’s one I will definitely be recommending to friends who want some vampire/vampire hunter love with twists. There is some spice but it’s not much. But the spice that’s in here, it’s on the spicy side (not really dark spicy spicy but a good solid 3 chili pepper spice)
4.5 🌟- pretty close to perfection. I just like to feel more of an emotional connection to score books 5 star (e.g it makes me cry!)
If you like Phantasma for its forced proximity and trials and Crowns of Nyaxia for its vampires, this book is for you.
Dannii has spent her life convinced her mother was killed by a vampire and has been searching for vengeance. When ends up visiting a mysterious circus, she ends up with the opportunity to find some answers.
The circus is a front for a competition where vampires put humans through trials for the chance to win a position as a vampire's familiar. Victory will give a chance for all their dreams to be answered and allows for the Vampire's power to renew.
Dannii wants to find out more and expose the vampires but when she's selected to enter the trials and she finds her fated mate, the task isn't going to be an easy one.
I really enjoyed the pacing and writing style in this book. There was good world building and the spice scenes were spicing!
I was a bit uncertain at first when the fated mates trope was dropped in so early, as I prefer a slow burn and don't like when this is used as a plot device to make characters suddenly in love and avoids a build up. However, as it was used as way to make the situation more complex and the stakes higher, I rolled with it.
I was bit confused around the dual time lines and how one must have led to another, which felt a bit jarring at the end, byt I'm optimistic that this will get resolved in the next instalment.
I really recommend this book and look forward to the next one.

The story focusses on Danni, a young woman who is completely haunted by her mother's death but driven to avenge her. Danni is convinced that a vampire killed her mother and that the mysterious circus that only pops up once every 15 years has something to do with it. When the circus of dreams returns to Hillsview, Danni decides that she will attend in order to seek answers and confront the vampires she so desperately believes are responsible for killing her mother. Luckily Danni works as a journalist and get's asked to cover the event. Upon her arrival Danni notices how all the other attendees become almost zombified, yet she doesn't seem affected by the magic that seems to be causing it. Things take a twist when Danni finds herself drawn to the dangerous and alluring ringmaster, only to find out she's fated to be his mate.
This book was so trippy and entertaining, but I found myself left with more questions than I answers. I did however predict how it was gonna end and now I'm even more intrigued as to whether there will be a second book. I really enjoyed this and even though I was left screaming.... I definitely want more. B. Green definitely knows how to keep you guessing and wanting more. This was written brilliantly, in a way that makes you feel completely immersed, as if you're the one falling down the rabbit hole of uncertainty. It really blurs the lines between control and desire. 10/10
Wow! What a read. For a book that is under three hundred pages, this packed a punch.
The book hits the ground running faster than Usain Bolt in the Olympics.
Danni is an independent, determined young woman on a mission. To find and kill the vampire that murdered her mother.
On the orders of the editor of the small town newspaper she works for, she attends the Circus of Dreams. A circus who only visits every 15 years. While other patrons know it to be a chance to fulfil their deepest, darkest desires, Danni see's it for what it truly is, the playground of vampires.
Able to see through the vampires deceptions, Danni finds herself chosen as a potential familiar to the vampire Prince himself, Knox.
Danni wants nothing more than to kill every last vampire. Knox wants to put an end to vampire hierarchy. Both must try to fulfil their personal missions without falling foul of their growing desires for the other.
With its trials, banter, emotional and sexual tension, and circus setting, this would would be a great read for anyone who enjoyed Phantasma and Caraval.
Brilliantly written, Circus of Dreams offers so much. From the well-rounded characters and world-building to the tension, angst, and spice. I could not put this book down. Fabulous reading that simply doesn't let up from the first to the last page.

They say never judge a book by its cover – but I did and I’m SO HAPPY I DID. I am a sucker (hehe) for vampire stories and the cover for Circus of Dreams is delicious!!
The story follows Danni, our FMC, while she enters the Circus of Dreams – so badly unprepared. Whilst there she uncovers a whole lot of vampires & and her fated mate Knox, our sexy vampire MMC, whilst being dragged into the in-between to compete in several trials to become Knox’s familiar.
I loved this book as it isn’t your normal cliché vampire storyline. B. Green does a great job of world building and teaching us this stories version of Vampire law and its creation whilst still having seduction, mystery, glamour and plenty of tension.
The cliffhanger at the end did nothing to satiate my need for book 2 which started about 70% into the book!!!!
