McCurran has always given us convincing 360-degree emotional landscapes of her characters, and she succeeds once again here.
I'm loving this series, particularly as Madison and Kane begin their sex club mission targeting the young Arab prince who's after sensitive Russian software.
And with a known weakness for MILFy women like Madison.
What's delightful are all the tensions: between Madison and her husband Charles who now suspects what she really does for a living.
With her children, as being away keeps her from important events in their lives. They aren't pleased, they think she doesn't care, and she can't set the record straight.
With Kane, the colleague and onetime lover who still wants her—and whose happy wife she must pretend to be as they navigate the club's sizzling temptations. While dealing with sexual tension left over from their long-ago past. And new ones generated right now.
With their controller, a much-too-young CIA officer, competent but overplaying her authority with these older veteran operatives.
With their supporting team who can't conceal their glee at getting to witness Madison in action, down and dirty.
And finally with herself.
Madison wants to stay faithful to Charles and the conventional life she chose in opting for him over Kane.
She is excited to return to what she once did so well, and wants to prove she can still do it, but meanwhile wallows in marital and family guilt.
She's turned on by the exotic sex she sees in their first visit to the club. Her alter ego, innocent-but-curious housewife Melissa Richardson, certainly would be.
The only difference between Melissa and Madison is that Madison, left to her own devices, would throw herself into the action. Melissa, a newbie, would hold off and temporize, 'Gee, I don't know, should I? In front of all these people? What would my husband think?'
Madison, to sell her cover, must think every second of what Melissa would think, say and do.
The sexual tension rises with the emotional turmoil as Madison and Kane close in on the prince. Madison is torn between fidelity to her husband, loyalty to her mission, residual lust for Kane, attraction to the handsome prince, disgust at his retrograde views of women, and shame as her performance is witnessed by her team via hidden cameras.
All those emotions, though, feed her performance as a housewife sliding down the slippery slope of naughtidom for the first time. Duty aside, she still gets off on playing the sex siren.

This second book of the story is even better than the first.
Loved the fist book. It had interesting characters, a clever story, lots of angst, and hot sex. I thought book two was the final book, but it turns out there is one more. Can't wait to see how everything turns out.Book two was even better than the fist. I love how our main character goes between her two different lives throughout the story. Kirsten has written some really good books, but this one may be her best two so far.

Hot but slow starting
I first rated this at three Stars but changed my mind. The many sometimes confusing side stories were sometimes confusing. The almost full sex as well as the wild orgasmic sex only moments later was hot. The hottest sex is where you just go for it and fuck first and think later!

A well written thriller that not only lets you in on the business side but the pressures it puts on the personal side. The MC struggles while keeping in mind the goal of the mission at hand. While you read this story ask yourself ......What would you do?
