This wasn’t needed…
Yeah, I’m not really sure how I feel about this one. Was a book two really necessary? Absolutely not. Vita didn’t play a big enough role in book one to justify a whole sequel, so this felt pretty pointless.
(Spoiler Alert) — The fact that she was dating Banks’ father and then ended up marrying him and the end of the book??😂 The ending felt so rushed. One minute Braylen has the baby, and the next, in the epilogue, Vita’s getting married. Like… what??? And for Banks being such a careful criminal he didn’t know that someone had tapped into his system? I really don’t like DNFing books, so I finished this series just to see if it would get better and it didn’t. Lol This honestly felt like a Tubi movie in book form.

The way that book one ended, I was sure there would be some upcoming drama. Surprisingly, or maybe not, Banks took it all in stride. He is all in with Braylen, and nothing or no one will come between their love. Braylen, however, is torn. She is battling with her mind and heart with what to do with the information she just learned. As always Banks comes in for the save and eases every single fear she has.
That damn Kyrie is delusional as hell. Cause sir, why would she want you back? 👀😤 You still haven't learned your lesson, continuing to do all the things that caused the rift in the first place! Then have the audacity to be pissed that she doesn't want you and has happily moved on! 🤯 You gets no sympathy here! 🤷🏿♀️

HAHAHAHAHAHA! Okay, I really DO try not to spoil books, but if you read Book 1, then you already know where we left these people. So when Braylen walked back into that house and treated Kyrie like he was a bum asking for change outside the gas station?! BABY, I HOLLERED! 😂😂 Sir, what exactly did you THINK was going to happen? You sent your wife off to live with a fine, rich man for a week and thought she was gonna come home, look around at you and your foolishness, and say, “Yep, this is where I belong”? NEWSFLASH, BUDDY...Banks is better. WAY better. 😭
And Kyrie absolutely could NOT handle that realization. Watching that man spiral after Braylen left him in the dust was something else because his mind had him doing all kinds of weak-boy foolishness. Instead of accepting that maybe JUST MAYBE he caused his own problems, that obsession started kicking in and had him moving worse and worse. I was sitting there like, “Boy, just sign them papers like that lady asked you to!” 😂 Now I will give Kyrie ONE lil piece of credit. Homeboy finally found himself a hustle that actually worked! 👏🏾 He started getting a lil coin in his pocket and making some moves for himself. Was it Banks type money? Absolutely TF not. 😂 But coin is coin, and after watching Kyrie be down horrendous in the first book, at least he finally figured out how to make something shake. But baby, by then Banks had already signed, sealed, and STAMPED that claim on Braylen. 😮💨 That man was not confused, undecided, or playing about what was his. And if Kyrie thought he was going to start making plans involving Braylen without considering the fact that Banks will go scorched earth behind that woman...well, clearly he STILL hadn't learned how to make good decisions. 😂
There is SO much more I could say about this finale, but I really want y'all to experience the madness for yourselves. Read The Promissory first and then go RIGHT on over to Book 2. Don't even take a break because you're going to want to know how all this plays out.,Kyiris Ashley had me laughing, fussing, crashing out, and shaking my head at these people through BOTH books. And Kyrie? Baby...sometimes you just gotta stand in the consequences of your own foolishness.

Kyrie is doing the exact same thing that cost him, his wife. Does he really think Braylen actually wants to come back to him? He did pawn her off to another man with nothing to show for it. Braylen and Banks were living the life of luxury. Banks introduced Braylen to his parents all long that is Vita's man. Vita wanted that for herself, Victor enters her life and spoilers her. If Banks and his friends are paranoid like that they ought to find a legal profession. Kyrie just couldn't leave well enough alone now he's dead and they are raising (his) their son. Fate has a funny way introducing someone back into their lives. They both got their happily ever after.

This sequel came in smooth. Banks stayed solid the whole time...calm, present, and fully invested. He didn’t just love Braylen, he reassured her every step of the way, and it worked.
Braylen was torn, trying to trust her heart while unlearning old wounds. Her struggle felt honest, and watching her settle into something safe was the highlight.
And Kyrie? Still operating on pure delusion. 😒
No growth, no accountability, just the same behavior that lost her in the first place.
Victor and Monique brought mature heat and surprise chemistry, and Vita added softness that tied everything together. The way everyone’s stories intertwined made the ending feel full and intentional.
Bold, emotional, and satisfying. Definitely a strong follow-up.

Banks came in determined!! Kyrie played right into his hands with that bet and Banks ran all the way to Braylen’s heart with it!! I loved that Braylen finally chose her own happiness and got her happily after!! Victor and Vita’s whirlwind romance was the cherry on top!! She deserved her happily ever just from the way she rode for Braylen!! Five stars Ms. Ashley!!🥰

I think book 2 wasn’t really necessary. I can see what the author was trying to do with Vita (FMC’s best friend) but I felt like she really didn’t need a pov. She didn’t even have a pov in the 1st book. Kyrie got on my last nerve! His pov basically said the same thing each time…getting with the crew and trying to figure out how to get his wife back.
This book still isn’t a dark romance to me. There’s alot of spicy scenes too.

What Would You Do If You Were Pregnant by the Ex NOT the Current Love???
This was good. I was in my emotional book feelings at the end of book one, but Kyiris has relaxed the mood.
Banks and Bray were always meant to be together and Kyrie was always just in the way!!
BUT
Banks and Bray story is not what made this book a solid read... it was driving into Vita and Victor story. I was a little concerned about Vita after comments made in Book One👀👀 but watching her and Vic learn to trust and love was crazy, sexy and cool.

Kyiris Ashley did that! The Promissory 2 was the perfect wrap-up. Kyrie was absolutely delusional in this book and had me yelling at the pages. I’m so glad Braylen finally got her happiness with Banks. Also, can we talk about Vic?! 🥵 A 10/10 read for me!
