Did I start and finish this in one day? Let's just say I finished all my household chores while listening to this book😅😅
I just love Eddie and his brain. Some parts of this were predictable for me seeing as this is my 10th Eddie Flynn book😅 That didn't dull my enjoyment though because I just love a good and tense courtroom drama!

I'm officially addicted to Eddie Flynn.
At this point, every time Steve Cavanagh announces a new book, I mentally lock my front door, silence my phone, cancel my plans, and disappear from society until I've devoured every single page. Please don't look for me. I'll emerge several hours later looking slightly unhinged, begging for the next installment like a wounded animal because these books are simply never long enough for my greedy reading appetite.
This series should come with a warning label:
Highly addictive. Sleep deprivation guaranteed.
This latest installment grabs you by the throat from page one. What initially looks like a juicy domestic thriller—a betrayed wife discovering her powerful husband is having an affair—quickly mutates into something much darker, bloodier, and infinitely more complicated.
Vanessa Vanderpool discovers that her husband Patrick, the privileged son of a media empire and reluctant political golden boy, has been cheating on her with his assistant, Molly. Jealousy gives Vanessa an obvious motive.
Meanwhile, Patrick walks into Molly's apartment believing he's escaping his miserable life, only to discover something in her diary that completely destroys everything he thought he knew about the woman he loved. Suddenly, betrayal fuels his own motive.
Two people.
Two excellent motives.
One horrifying murder.
Then comes the crime scene that made my jaw hit the floor.

Enter my favorite fictional attorney, Eddie Flynn.
Patrick's legal team conveniently develops a sudden "conflict of interest" and refuses to represent Vanessa, leaving Eddie to step in as her defense attorney.
Please.
We all know that's complete nonsense.
It's painfully obvious someone wants Vanessa isolated with lawyers they can manipulate while protecting the interests of Patrick's father—a ruthless media mogul whose money, political influence, and willingness to weaponize public opinion make him far more terrifying than many serial killers I've encountered in thrillers.
One of the things I adore most about Eddie is that he refuses to defend someone simply because he can win. He still carries the emotional scars of mistakes from previous cases and desperately wants to believe his clients deserve saving.
Vanessa doesn't exactly make that easy.
She lies.
She hides things.
She constantly raises red flags.
But Eddie's instincts keep whispering the same thing.
She's hiding something...
...just not murder.
Watching him peel away layers of deception while questioning everyone—including his own judgment—is exactly why this series never gets old.
And then...
THAT OPENING.
Steve Cavanagh is absolutely evil.
The novel opens with Eddie trapped inside a car trunk, battered, bleeding, and seemingly moments away from death.
Excuse me?!
How am I supposed to calmly continue reading after that?
I spent the entire novel internally screaming, "Please don't let this be Eddie's last case!"
The suspense never lets up.
Thankfully, Harry Ford, Bloch, and Lake are once again by Eddie's side, and honestly, every reunion with this team feels like catching up with old friends. Their chemistry, loyalty, and perfectly timed humor balance the relentless tension beautifully.
But this time the stakes are even higher.
The enemy isn't just trying to destroy Eddie professionally.
They're coming after his family.
His future.
His custody battle.
His entire life.
As the investigation unfolds, the murder of Molly begins connecting to an older cold case with horrifying similarities, revealing secrets buried beneath layers of wealth, privilege, corruption, and carefully manufactured public images. Every revelation made me question everything I thought I knew.
Just when I felt confident I'd figured it out...
Steve Cavanagh smiled somewhere across the universe and pulled the rug out from under me.
Again.
And again.
And one more time for good measure.
The man simply refuses to let his readers feel comfortable.
What I continue to admire about this series is that the courtroom scenes are just as exhilarating as the investigations. Every cross-examination feels like watching a championship chess match where one wrong move could destroy an innocent person's life. Few authors write legal thrillers with this much energy, intelligence, and cinematic pacing.
Then came the ending.
That final conversation between Eddie and his client absolutely shattered me.
No explosions.
No dramatic chase.
Just an emotionally devastating exchange that quietly broke my heart far more effectively than any action sequence ever could.
That's Steve Cavanagh's greatest strength. Beneath all the breathtaking twists, impossible puzzles, courtroom fireworks, and relentless pacing lies genuine humanity. He reminds us that every case is ultimately about people—their mistakes, regrets, sacrifices, and impossible choices.
I honestly don't know how this author keeps topping himself, but somehow every Eddie Flynn novel leaves me even more obsessed than the last.
This series has become my ultimate guilty pleasure—the literary equivalent of saying, "Just one more chapter," until the birds outside start singing.
If you've somehow managed to avoid Eddie Flynn until now, fix that immediately.
Your sleep schedule may never recover...
...but it will be worth every exhausted minute.

I am always excited for a new Eddie Flynn book, can you believe this is book 10! I love a good legal thriller and Eddie is one of my favourites. Former conman turned lawyer, Eddie has away of looking at the evidence in a different context to most, and he is not afraid to say what he really thinks, landing him in trouble most of the time. That is kind of lawyers you want on your side.
Highly addictive and very easy to binge read, One of Us is Guilty is one of his toughest and dangerous cases. He is up against the might of the powerful Vanderpool family who are ridiculously rich and own most of the media companies in New York. They are willing to do anything to protect their own.
I love Eddie and his trusted team of Harry, Bloch, Lake and of course Denise. They are all fiercely loyal to Eddie and will do whatever it takes to get the answers. There is always tension around these huge cases and it makes for an amazing read. The courtroom scenes are always my favourites, and more so in this book where everyone is against him and his client.

Clawed me in from the get go!!
A husband is having an affair. His wife discovers the truth. The other woman is found murdered. Husband and wife both visited her separately on the night she was killed, and both are caught on CCTV. Only one question remains… who did it?
The courtroom chapters were hugely entertaining, packed with clever legal arguments that kept me completely invested. Eddie’s sharp comeback lines had me chuckling. A few scenes did feel unrealistic, but I had so much fun reading this story that I didn’t really mind. I just had to know who killed Molly.
You can never go wrong with a bit of rich people drama. The politics, the power, the bribery and the media manipulation all made for a thoroughly entertaining read. I loved every minute of it.
The build up is excellent, with non stop suspense that keeps you hooked from the get go. Steve Cavanagh is a brilliant writer who really knows how to reel you in and keep you completely engaged throughout. It is fast paced, action packed and difficult to put down. I guessed a couple of the twists, and I do think it could have been a little shorter, as some chapters were more descriptive than they needed to be.
Overall, this was a thoroughly entertaining legal mystery and a proper thrill ride from start to finish. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫

Only I would start a series I have been meaning to start for ages on book 10, even though I own all the other 9 books in the series. Why? because I was approved for the ARC of this book and I have no control! However I am proof that you can totally read this series as standalones! Might I have rated it a straight 5 stars had I read them in order? Possibly. Will I go back and start the series as Steve intended and read them chronologically? also yes. Will i end up re-reading this book once I've made my way through all 9 preceding books? most probably!
I must be going through a total legal thriller vibe because this was the 2nd legal thriller book I devoured in July! This was just so fast paced with the short punchy chapters that it made it incredibly addictive and I couldn't put it down.
I always enjoy rich people drama and this was next level! A multiple POV book, with multiple twists, courtroom drama and an ending with a bang! I'm glad I got to finally meet Eddie and the gang!!

Wow! Where do I even begin with this fast-paced crime thriller?
The story opens with a gruesome murder, and at the center of it all is a wealthy, powerful couple. Molly, the victim, was an assistant on Patrick’s political campaign, and also his mistress. Vanessa, Patrick’s wife, knew about the affair and understood that her life would be forever changed if it continued. So when Molly ends up murdered, everyone becomes a suspect. Was it the charming, up-and-coming governor trying to save his career? Or the scorned wife pushed to her breaking point?
I had no idea this was book 10 in the series when I requested it on NetGalley, but I was able to jump right in without feeling lost. The author does an excellent job of making the story accessible for new readers while still making me want to go back and read the earlier books.
From beginning to end, this book had my anxiety through the roof. I actually had to take several breaks between chapters just to calm my heart rate! It was a wild, twist-filled ride that kept me guessing until the very end. I’d happily have Eddie Flynn as my lawyer anytime. I loved this book so much that I can’t wait to go back and read the rest of the series!

When this proof popped through my letterbox last Friday, I just couldn’t believe my luck! This is my favourite thriller series, so I just couldn’t resist diving into this latest one straight away.
And what a rollercoaster of a ride it was: it was absolutely BRILLIANT! Eddie Flynn fans, you’re in for a real treat with this one.
Once more, Steve Cavanagh stuns and surprises with his cleverly written plot, which is intricately woven together like a spider’s web. I loved the different POVs, the different scenarios, and the wit and humour woven throughout.
I just love it when Eddie stands up to begin a trial in court: I get a tingle of excitement with the anticipation of seeing how he’s going to handle each case, and I adore seeing how he outwits his adversaries, and takes them down a peg or two.
Theres a lot more to this story than the courtroom though, and I loved seeing Bloch and Lake play a part in the action again. I was on tenterhooks the whole way through: wondering what was going to happen next, and who the guilty person was. For once, I did wonder if Eddie had backed the right person.
This is the tenth book in this series, and I just relished every page and chapter. It’s an action-packed, masterfully crafted read, and it’s my new favourite book in the series! 🙌🙌

Another great Eddie Flynn novel! One of Us is Guilty actually made me squeamish and that never happens. I love seeing what kind of antics Flynn and his team get up to. Such great characters and I love how well they work together. This was a great installment.

Cavanagh + Flynn = 5 stars
Yes, yes, yes! Steve Cavanagh has whacked his latest Eddie Flynn book way out of the park. This is a very clever put together plot that moves at a relentless pace and had me on the edge of my seat for the entire book. The courtroom scenes are so brilliantly done and Eddie proves why he is one of my most favourite characters in a book. There are twists and turns that will leave you gasping and oh my that ending - did not see that coming. Sheer brilliance. Steve Cavanagh is the absolute master of a courtroom drama and ten books in he is still very firmly at the top of his game. I have given every book in this series five stars and this one is no different. Outstanding

Holy crap, I love this Eddie Flynn series so much. It genuinely just keeps getting better and better, and I honestly don't know how Steve Cavanagh still has ideas left because every book somehow manages to top the last one.
One of Us Is Guilty follows Patrick and Vanessa Vanderpool, a powerful couple whose lives are turned upside down when Patrick's mistress is found brutally murdered. With only two suspects and secrets everywhere, Eddie Flynn is pulled into another dangerous case where nothing is as straightforward as it seems.
This book had me punching my bed multiple times because I kept thinking, "Are you serious right now? That did not just happen." The twists were absolutely insane and delivered everything I want from a legal thriller. I was completely locked in from beginning to end. Cavanagh's knowledge of the legal world always shines through, and it makes these books feel so authentic.
I also loved how the story bounced between different characters and POVs without ever becoming confusing. Everything came together perfectly, and every perspective added something important to the bigger picture.
One thing I really appreciate about this series is that these books can absolutely be read as standalones, and you'd have no problem jumping in here. But following Eddie Flynn throughout the series and watching him grow has been amazing. He's not only a complete badass, but he's also incredibly smart, witty, and exactly the kind of lawyer you'd want on your side, even if he tends to do things the Eddie Flynn way.
Another phenomenal installment and easily one of my favorite legal thriller series ever. Read this immediately. You will not regret it.
Holy crap, I love this Eddie Flynn series so much. It genuinely just keeps getting better and better, and I honestly don't know how Steve Cavanagh still has ideas left because every book somehow manages to top the last one.
One of Us Is Guilty follows Patrick and Vanessa Vanderpool, a powerful couple whose lives are turned upside down when Patrick's mistress is found brutally murdered. With only two suspects and secrets everywhere, Eddie Flynn is pulled into another dangerous case where nothing is as straightforward as it seems.
This book had me punching my bed multiple times because I kept thinking, "Are you serious right now? That did not just happen." The twists were absolutely insane and delivered everything I want from a legal thriller. I was completely locked in from beginning to end. Cavanagh's knowledge of the legal world always shines through, and it makes these books feel so authentic.
I also loved how the story bounced between different characters and POVs without ever becoming confusing. Everything came together perfectly, and every perspective added something important to the bigger picture.
One thing I really appreciate about this series is that these books can absolutely be read as standalones, and you'd have no problem jumping in here. But following Eddie Flynn throughout the series and watching him grow has been amazing. He's not only a complete badass, but he's also incredibly smart, witty, and exactly the kind of lawyer you'd want on your side, even if he tends to do things the Eddie Flynn way.
Another phenomenal installment and easily one of my favorite legal thriller series ever. Read this immediately. You will not regret it.

Although I have all nine previous Eddie Flynn books sitting on my shelf, I somehow started the series with an advanced copy of One of Us Is Guilty instead… go figure!
If there’s ever been a sign to finally get my shit together and properly work my way through this series, this book was the sign that smacked some sense into me because I absolutely loved this.
The courtroom scenes were phenomenal, the writing had me completely immersed, and I could visualise everything so clearly it genuinely felt like a movie playing out inside my head while I was reading. Those short chapters combined with the pacing made this ridiculously addictive and I flew through it.
Throw in rich people superiority complexes, multiple POVs, corruption, layered reveals, courtroom drama and an ending I absolutely did not see coming, and this became exactly my kind of thriller.
This book was basically catnip for me. Safe to say I’ll now be heading back to finally start the Eddie Flynn series from the beginning because if One of Us Is Guilty was this good, I need to know what I’ve apparently been missing out on all this time.

In one of us is guilty we meet Vanessa and Patrick Vanderpool, extremely rich, ambitious and powerful.
Patrick is having an affair with his staff member Molly, Vanessa has found out and the affair could ruin absolutely everything.
Molly is brutally murdered and one of them is guilty, but who?
It’s Eddie’s job to find out but risks his life in the process.
Not everyone is who they seem, hidden secrets need to be revealed.
I couldn’t put the book down, Steve has the ability to keep you hooked at the end of each chapter and before you know it your half way through the book.
I enjoyed the return of a few old characters who we haven’t heard from in a while, one especially from the start who’s one of my favourites just a shame there wasn’t a few more chapters of him, and of course the return of the usual people who make up Eddie’s unlikely but trustworthy team even with their unconventional ways of getting to the truth.
There are also some very unlikable characters too who I was silently rooting for their demise, did they get it and was justice served, well you’re just going to have to read the book to find out.
The master of a twist in the tale and as always hits you with a few curveballs towards the end, I guessed a few but some I didn’t.
You can read these all as stand alone books or in any order, my brain won’t allow that as I enjoy the character development so I’ve read the series in order and enjoyed every single one of them and roll on the release of book 11.

i love the kind of thrillers where you think you know something, but then you actually don’t, and the more we read the more we discover new things, and it keeps us on edge until the end. It’s exactly what this is and I devoured it literally.
Only when I did finish this, that I realize this was part of a big serie, and is the 10th book of it hahaha…but honeslty this wasn’t bothering or anything, and I didn’t feel lost while reading so if you don’t want to read the whole serie, you still can read this one!!
Though, after this one, I’m definitely gonna read all the others book because oh!my!god how I enjoyed this one.
I loved that there was a lot of twists, unexpected ones, and kept me on the edge until the very much end. One thing that I absolutely loved was the writing that was so good, and had you immersed in the story so well, and the more you read and the more you wanted to know, and the pacing was excellent !!

I hadn't read an Eddie Flynn Cavanagh book yet, and I wasn't aware this was going to be one, so it wasn't quite what I'd expected. I was a HUGE Kill for Me, Kill for You fan, but unfortunately, legal thrillers aren't really my "jam," so I wasn't completely riveted to this plotline like I'd wanted to be. That said, the characters are interesting and the plot is twisty, so those who enjoy Eddie Flynn or legal thrillers will likely enjoy this one!

Enjoyed the courtroom scenes and classic Eddie Flynn. This one didn’t feel as flashy as his previous work and I thought the main twists were predictable but I did like the overt message of hope in an increasingly corrupt world which felt topical. That being said I’m not sure anything will quite reach the lofty heights of thirteen or fifty fifty!

I am a HUGE fan of this series and I actually did a double take when I read the description and realized that we are already at the tenth book in the series. How did we get to ten books?
I have enjoyed so many things about the Eddie Flynn series. Mainly I love Eddie Flynn as a character, he is such an unusual mix of brilliant attorney while also retaining so much of "streetwise" Eddie, and secondly, I enjoy getting to experience his courtroom scenes. Add that to the fact that there is always a good plot going on and you have the perfect formula for a great book.
Things start off with a bang, and we jump right in as Eddie is trapped in the trunk of a car after being jumped and taken off of the street. We then go back in time as Mr. Cavanagh begins to set the scene. He then gives us the background needed to catch us up to where we started at the beginning.
Everything starts with his new case. Eddie starts off on his back foot because this case comes to him in a unique way. One of his core principals is that he will NOT represent anyone whom he thinks is guilty. That is a big deal for him and very quickly he can not be certain if that is the situation with his new client. FMC Vanessa Vanderpool is his new client and she is married to the son of one of the wealthiest men in the country. Her father-in-law is not a good man.
This particular case revolves around the murder of an employee working on her husband's campaign. The victim was a beautiful young woman who may or may not have been having an affair with the husband - MMC Patrick Vanderpool. Both Vanessa and Patrick are both on video arriving and leaving from the victim's apartment on the night of her murder - but at different times. As the book unfolds, both of them could be the murderer. We also find out that Vanessa is keeping secrets, but is she working for or against Eddie and his team? We do not know.
This entire book keeps us going back and forth trying to figure out who the actual killer was but at the same time, a whole other set of circumstances are revealed. Lots and lots of twists and turns come flying at us and in the end, we realize that there was a whole lot that was not as it seemed.
I flew through this book and found myself not wanting to put the book down because I wanted to see how this was going to turn out. It was definitely one of those books where you keep telling yourself, "Just one more chapter" until you realize that it is now the middle of the night and yet you still just HAVE to keep going.

To be honest going into reading this book I did not have high hopes - the last few books in the series felt dragged and it felt like Eddie was taking a backseat in his own series due to the number of perspectives and people in the story as well as the more predictable outcomes and responses as well as the lack of the courtroom drama from Eddie at centre stage. However this book really felt like the old Eddie was back and I really enjoyed the read - the number of perspectives was logical and added to the story rather than making it feel like a chore hearing the same thing be talked about from loads of different people. Without Kate the story felt more focused and less like Eddie was always doing something wrong by bending the rules from time to time even when it was required because let's be honest reading isn't for reality it's more of an escape and to have a character try and throw it back in every second was frustrating.
The courtroom drama was amazing and Eddie was great in his element - it was nice to also see familiar faces helping him out where they could throughout the story. I loved the suspense and mystery and the book had me guessing right up until the end with the complex history of the couple and their pasts.
All in all I would say this book is really not like the last few previous installments since the Devils Advocate and that's what makes it a great and enjoyable read so if you have lost faith since the last couple of books don't be fooled and have a go at this one as it won't disappoint.

Another great installment of the Eddie Flynn series! As can be expected with any Steve Cavanagh novel, One of Us Is Guilty was a complicated case with many moving parts. You think you have an idea of what is going on while also questioning how in the hell Eddie will be able to pull out an acquittal for his client. The case looks hopeless as the trial begins and you just hope all of your favorite characters make it out alive. When the final twists were revealed, I was gasping aloud and blindsided. As it should be with a true twist, all the clues were there but I did not connect the pieces until Cavanagh revealed them to me. I love that all the moving pieces and questions are accounted for and everything ties together in the end with your jaw left hanging on the floor. Love it and the entire Eddie Flynn series. The ONLY reason I am not giving this book 5 stars is because I felt there were times when Eddie was not 100% on his game and picking up on when he might have been being lied to or conned. Usually Eddie immediately spots it but there were times in which I thought he might be losing some of his edge. Otherwise, this would be an east 5 star read!

This time, Eddie is drawn into a high profile murder case involving a powerful political family where everyone seems to be hiding something. As the investigation unfolds, the secrets, lies and twists just keep coming.
Legal thrillers are one of my all time favourite genres, and Steve Cavanagh does them better than anyone. I always feel slightly on edge reading his books, and every time I think I’ve worked everything out, he proves me wrong. The courtroom scenes are always a highlight for me, and I love watching Eddie slowly piece everything together.
The opening chapter throws you straight into a huge moment, then makes you wait until near the end to find out exactly what happened. It was such a clever way to build suspense, and it had me hooked from the very first page. I also loved getting more of Bloch and Lake.
Steve’s writing is so easy to read that before you know it you’ve somehow flown through half the book. The pacing is brilliant, the twists kept me guessing, and I genuinely struggled to put it down.
Another fantastic addition to the Eddie Flynn series, and one I would highly recommend to any thriller fan.

The opening chapter throws you straight into a huge moment, then makes you wait until near the end to find out exactly what happened. It was such a clever way to build suspense, and it had me hooked from the very first page. I also loved getting more of Bloch and Lake.
Steve’s writing is so easy to read that before you know it you’ve somehow flown through half the book. The pacing is brilliant, the twists kept me guessing, and I genuinely struggled to put it down.
Another fantastic addition to the Eddie Flynn series, and one I would highly recommend to any thriller fan.

Every time I thought I had the mystery figured out, another twist proved me wrong.
Eddie Flynn continues to be one of my all-time favorite thriller protagonists. He’s sharp, fearless, and endlessly compelling, and watching him work alongside the rest of the gang was an absolute treat. Their chemistry and cleverness make this series stand out from so many other legal thrillers.
