The adjectives I think of about the story are: sweet, engaging, delightful, exciting, and a whole lot of others--all of which are positive. The characters are charming especially Sophie. She has such a good heart and is so humble and simply wants to do good. She chooses that when life is otherwise bleak. Her brother's are lovable rascals. And the viscount when he overcomes his turmoil is quite delightful.
I would definitely recommend this book. It was so enjoyable that I wish the author had a whole back catalog that I could revel in. Perhaps titles are forthcoming. I can only hope.

Sweet and clean regency romance

It's a sweet and clean romance. At first, Kit is a bit abrasive but quickly shows that it isn't his true nature. Sophie is a sweetheart throughout the story, and one can not help but root for her and humble. Some could find her naive in that she doesn't see Kit's affection, but truly a noble and Vicars daughter would seem highly unlikely in that age.
The ending was beautiful, but i would have loved to have had an epilogue. I also want closure on Lady Sarah.

Full of wit and sweetness, this novel is the perfect romantic sojourn for readers who love classic stories in the style of Jane Austen.

Short Summary: The daughter of an impoverished, but kind vicar, Sophie Bantling has her hands full with her twin brothers' escapades and her Aunt Lydia's demands. Once the long absent viscount of her village returns however, her life becomes noticeably more exciting as the two spar verbally and slowly but surely fall in love.

I loved this book. The clashes between Sophie and the viscount are well done and entertaining. The twins' antics are ridiculous, but not over the top. There is a ball, of course, but also a mystery involving a dangerous highwayman that is a welcome addition to the plot without becoming a distraction. Woven into all of this is a persistent, but not preachy, Christian theme that is heavy on something all of us can relate to--forgiveness.

This is the perfect light and fluffy romance, clean, simple, and fun. I recommend this book to any and all ages. Can't wait to read more from Heather in the future!

p.s. Please don't let my long time in completing this book throw you off; I was distracted by a beautiful but insistent baby during this time. :)

Wonderful Regency Romance in Countryside England

This is such a good story I would gladly rate it 10 stars. The writer takes you to Regency times...in the country without all the verbiage that sometimes make Regency novels hard to read.

The Viscount is charming and becomes a better man as the story continues. Sophie grows more self confident and is a down to earth person. Her brothers give humor to the story but they grow up also. Sophie's friend is wealthier than she is but never lets that come between them. All the characters in the book come across as genuine and add flavor to the story.

This is a keeper to be read time and again when I feel the need to visit good people in Regency England.

Clean Historical English Countryside Cinderella plot romance with a rich titled guy comes to the town of a poor future-less vicar's daughter.
The Christian themes were kind of heavy handed when present in the story, but luckily there is some sweet and at times silly romance between Miss Sophie Bantling and the newly arrived to the countryside, Kit, Viscount of Wimberton. There are some silly annoying teenage twin brothers as well as an obviously selfish evil friend that throws Kit and Sophie together to further their story.
Well written and fun short read.

The the local estate owner - Viscount of Wimberton - enters her life and that of the village, as her life becomes more exciting.
Not my usual genre to read but strangely found it a very enjoyable read
