FINALE! Doom has confronted all of Earth's heroes in battle - and he's won. What's more, he's used the magical power of Sorcerer Supreme to ensure that this victory has become a fixed moment in a thing that will stand forever, impervious to magic or time travel alike. But unbeknownst to Doom, in that climatic moment that can now never be changed, the seeds of Doom's downfall were also fixed for all eternity. Left with an intolerable defeat that cannot be changed, Doom makes a choice he can never undo - and the rest of the world will pay his price... ...it all comes down to this in the big finale of ONE WORLD UNDER DOOM! If the Sorcerer Supreme falls, who will rise to take his place? Find out here!
The entire time of this story, I have been wondering how Doom would lose his power how he would lose everything he has gained. And in the end, it was the love of his goddaughter that did him in, and he walked to his end willingly like a man. Well done, Ryan North!!!
Meh. I clearly need to go back and read the entire series. Then maybe I'll have a better opinion for this book. The cover is awesome though, and has some serious Old Man Logan vibes going for it.
The interior art is hit-and-miss. Some of it is quite good; some of it leaves a bit to be desire. But maybe that is the "genius" of the interior art .
It's okay. We'll see how much this storyline impacts the Marvel U at large. So many of these "big events" turn out to be nothing burgers in the long run that I do not have much hope about long term consequences for this series/event, either. We'll see if I turn out to be wrong.
Actually, kind of weak for Ryan North. He was clearly struggling with editorial mandates. Left to his own devices, he probably would have written a better story. It needed more of a framing device. Maybe a scene of Doom and Valeria playing some game in the past, which could then be referenced in the present.
*shrugs* I continue to be dissatisfied with the status quo where current fans are completely unaware of the fact Valeria was introduced as Doom's daughter, not Reed's, and she had obvious powers. Fans have been stuck with this powerless, daughter-of-Reed-and-Susan version for so long, and no one ever talks about her earlier self. I have held out hope this entire time that the teenage version of her REALLY WAS Doom's biological daughter, and then when Franklin reduced her to a fetus in Susan's belly, she still retained Doom's DNA. Even if chimerically, also sharing some of Reed's DNA as well.
I praise the turn of events at the end, the unexpected twist over the expected ending after Doom’s actions killed his beloved Valeria Richards. In the end the lesson is Doom have learnt from his previous encounters with heroes, and Reed Richards have permanently damaged him with the love of his daughter. Overall the big problems with this series is the lack of tension, the feeling that nothing is at stake; the idea that with almost absolute power, Doom would become a somewhat “benevolent” but still manipulative tyrant.

Victor giving up everything to save his goddaughter 😩
“But I betas of helping people, you helped yourself. You made fascism appealing, even attractive, you sold it go good people as a reasonable option — and it destroyed all of it touched…you sacrificed your own citizens to prop up a hollow promise of peace and prosperity, and when you were revealed, you demanded still more sacrifice, more suffering, just to keep yourself in power. And you have left our world a far worse place than you found it”
this event, as all modern marvel events are, was bloated. however, the main storyline laid out in this book was quite compelling and north delivered on a satisfying ending that was quite emotionally satisfying. wanda as sorcerer supreme does not excite me... im more interested to see what becomes of victor after this event, especially as i really enjoy the way north writes him. either way, on to the next big dumb bloated event, and im glad FF can focus on self-contained stories now

a pretty solid ending to what was mostly a predictable and lackluster story. it definitely had its moments but was just kinda one of those events that probably isn’t the most memorable. by no means was it BAD but it definitely didn’t need to be nine issues long. the ending is pretty intriguing tho, seeing what happens to Doom and his effects will be cool to unfold in The Will of Doom. not too sure about the last page with Wanda but I guess we will just have to see what happens!
It ended with a whimper not a bang! I enjoyed this comic in general and series overall. I guess this could not have ended any other way. I loved the slow pacing of this issue compared with the previous ones. Ryan North did a great job.
The perfect ending to all the violence and destruction. Doom can never be defeated, only postponed. (This is a comic and he's too powerful. He'll be back.) Love destroyed him, as much as it redeemed him. I can't wait for the next stage.
This even was weak in the middle with all the Avengers nonsense and should have been just a short, Fantastic Four arc. As it is though, at least the ending was good and it left Reed Richards in a really though spot.
I've enjoyed this event and I've been positive in rating the issues, even if some beats seemed to repeat, as they individually have been great. This finale in particular definitely stands out for me and especially feels like it can standalone. Now what for Doom?
I only read this one issue of the run, but I have to admit it was very good. I picked it up because Wand'a next series started there on the very last two pages. I am excited to now go read Sorcerer Supreme #1
