Sometimes love isn’t enough to hold up the roof when the foundation is already cracked. And heartbreak – yeah, it doesn’t care about clean exits. Because once you give your heart away, you don’t really get it back. You just learn to live with the echo of what it used to be. Especially when she’s the one who built the bones of you. And I thought that was the final act – lights dimmed, curtains closed. Except hearts don’t follow logic. They follow eyes that make you want to rewrite every version of yourself.
Born into one of Newport, Rhode Island’s most influential families, Pryce has carried the Kharter name into fame through a path of his own making. He’s spent the past year rehabbing a torn ACL after a devastating fall that may have ended his career and his long-time relationship with the girl he never saw himself without. The weight of expectation leaves him lost as summer begins and he finds himself longing for a distraction within his tight-knit group of friends. That is, until fate intervenes in the form of Manning Shields. Freshly graduated from Columbia University, Manning plans to celebrate in the Maldives with her best friend until he abruptly relocates them to Newport instead. She reluctantly follows, expecting nothing more than a quiet reset before deciding her next step. Her plans change the moment she crosses paths with the broody professional skateboarder.
