Preach So Crazy…
I genuinely enjoy reading about unhinged characters.
I particularly liked how Tatiana crafted the story and characters, allowing me to delve deeper into their lives and understand their growth. The way Preach evolved into the man he is now, while still cherishing the people in his life, was truly captivating.
The drama in the story was both amusing and intriguing, drawing me into the complex relationships between the characters. The contrast between the girls and the zoo boyz was particularly entertaining, and I enjoyed the different perspectives we gained from outside of Preach’s point of view. Each time Chevy’s story unfolded, it became more captivating, leaving me eager to discover what happens next with him. Now with bookstore girl I empathized with her situation, as she navigates through a mess that should have been resolved long ago and now finds herself entangled in responsibilities that are not hers.
Overall, “Book Two” is a compelling continuation of the story, keeping readers engaged and eager to follow the unfolding events. Oh yeah, let’s not forget about those spicy scenes 😈.

4.5✨- yes, I am very much invested in this story now. I want more! Preach was definitely the perfect character to go first after the intro to the Zoo Boyz. I empathized a lot with his storyline. I found the romance between Preach and Navi to be swoon worthy and forbidden. I loved the way he accepted her, I wish she had came clean with him right away but I understood her hesitance. There are so many layers to the characters that I just don’t know how things will pan out. I read this book so fast, I couldn’t put it down. Chevy, my Chevy… 😭🥺

There was a lot going on in this installment. Multiple POVs, which I like when done right. I didn’t hate this, however, The secret trope I’m not a huge fan of. There were elements of it in the first book and it followed thru to this one and it’s aggravating me that it hasn’t been revealed. I suspect it will be in Chevy’s.
This is an instalove but I’m not convinced.
Let’s be for real, Preach is lowkey a sociopath.
That’s it, that’s all.
But he is loyal to the soil.
Lots of dissension among the guys and a lot of sneakiness.
I want more of the triangle that is Zu, Harvey, and Foe.
Def need to see what’s up with Chevy and his secret.
Needless to say, I will be reading whatever is next.

A lot of my mutuals and a few of my book club members raved about this series and I think my personal expectations may have been a little too high. Especially coming off reading another series that I couldn't put down. I feel like this could have benefited from more pages to flush out the characters, their storylines, and their character development. Things were happening so fast and (unless I missed it) there was no significant time put in for anything to happen or for me to be invested in the characters.
The Zoo Boyz are supposed to be tight like brothers, about their paper, and street smart. To me, their brotherhood came across very flimsy. As long as someone had a pretty face, nice body, and decent in bed they were falling in love within a week (putting their lives and business in danger). And their affections always seemed to be with the wrong people. And they keep entertaining the women who crossed them...I'm not understanding that part. One day they meet, next day they kick it, third day they are in love. And I wasn't understanding what they were falling in love with. The love interests in this particular book for 3 of the 5 guys happen to be sisters. A detective, a nurse, and a juice bar owner (I don't know why but that feels like the start to a corny joke lol). And the storyline goes a little crazy trying to follow them all...plus Zu and hint of something for Foe.
There's also an urgency that Chevy all of a sudden has to want to meet his birth mother. It was hinted at in book one and mentioned again in book two. It's apparently so big that he doesn't want to tell Harvey (who is basically his best friend and like a sister) and is willing to let Lola blackmail him into sex. A man that regularly expires people... getting blackmailed to sleep with someone? And why is she so thirsty to sleep with him? There are literally so many men walking around with no morals that will sleep with just about anyone. What's so special about this one? Because other than being handsome and in a 5 person bike club... he's just a regular guy.

needs a new editor
This author truly needs a new editor. Again the characters are great. The storyline decent and engaging enough to want to read. The errors are HORRIBLE and makes you not want to read the story. Also Zaria worked my last nerve and I don’t like her character. Chevy still getting on my nerves too. Please get on with it with whatever is wrong with him. Making everyone’s story about him is not gone do it. Book 2 and the author is still playing around with whatever secret he’s holding to. What does he have cancer? Like let’s get on with it for Pete’s sake.

Discombobulated
I was really exited to read this series. But after the first book I should I have stopped. This series wants to be good. But it is not. The writing and story line are all over the place. There is no character development. We are two books in and we still don’t know anything? It’s like we’re reading a series of unfortunate events that just keep happening. And there are two more? Why?

The second book of the Zoo Boyz series introduces the readers to some interesting supporting characters. While Priest is battling his inner demons, he meets Navi and it’s instant chemistry. What he doesn’t realize is, she has the ability to change his life forever.
On the brink of the breakup of the Zoo Boyz, Chevy is determined to go on an extended trip, in search of his mother. What he didn’t expect was to meet Bookstore Girl and be intrigued by her. This part played out so beautifully.
Of course, what would the Zoo Boyz be without a little bloodshed and a whole lotta sex? My favorite character in this book is Priest and my least favorite is Navi’s father. I cannot wait to dive into the remaining characters. You’ve got a winner here @authortatiana!

Preach or Prentice
Seeing Preach Struggle between the streets and the pulpit was definitely interesting. Navi was so conflicted but she made her choice and yet things still went wrong. I need to know what’s going on with Chevy and Zara because both are down bad right now. Can’t wait to go to book 3

gotta be my favorite
Can I get an amen? Priest is definitely my favorite out of the zoo boys. He’s gonna pray with you. He’s gonna set the men straight. And he gets straight up, filthy in the bedroom. When I say a heart of gold! I just love the storyline. I love the characters in this book. I just felt so bad about all that he had to go through to get to where he is at this point I can’t wait to see him in the other series and I love what he says can I pray for you? Who doesn’t want a man who pray who prays before he eats? 🙃Or a man who will pray with you, but he ain’t gonna play with you? Wink.

I didn’t hate it but I didn’t love it either. I think the insta-love and pacing is throwing me off. Like it’s hard for me to believe that Preach & Navi actually like each other that much. The chemistry just isn’t there. I want to continue reading because I’m very interested in the mystery surrounding Chevy, but I’m not sure I can do it

Well Well well Tatiana Timmons come to the from of the congregation, I have a bone to pick. Why did you end this book like that .I have so many question and not enough answer to them. Preach reminding me of myself being a preacher daughter. I can so relate to having to up hold a higher standard because my dad is a pastor. Like I always say ,God is still working on me ,I'm not my father so tread lightly . Chevy has always gotten the bad end of the stick and I'm praying that for once in his life God hears his cry of hurt, pain and brings him out of his sorrow better than ever. Navi dad will get his because what he is doing is not right how you judging the next man unless you walk in their footsteps. I hope Chevy get s chance to meet his mom and fall in love with bookstore girl . I hope Foe and Harvey just quiet playing with love and just come out with a blaze and let Zu know it's not him and never will be . I hope Preach mother get the help she need and try to be the love her son needs at this moment. His Father need to stop putting his faith with God over his love for his son. One thing I can say about my Dad he did let me live my life without judgement and was their to pick up the pieces if I ever needed him. We all make mistakes but God knows our heart and is a forgiving God!!! Now come on and bring me part three right now lol !! I'll take an advance copy because I read this book so fast now I wish I was not done !! If you don't ride with the Zoo Boyz you don't be riding at all !! Come take a ride on this roller coaster is well worth the read 10 stars in my book!! It keep you on ur toes and when you finish it make you want more and more ... Y’all Preach came to speak and he made one hell of a statement. I didn’t know what to expect BUT he showed tf out and I loved it. Not just for him but for us. Despite being torn between the pulpit and the streets. We all know Preach’s heart has always been in the right place and we see it even more.
We learn that Preach’s parents are trash. His momma a junkie and IMO his daddy is a sorry excuse for a Preacher because how you stand up and preach about God almost daily yet you turn and shut out your son. BOY FU!!!! Insert Navi aka Pretty. Only Tati could make Preach’s love interest, HER! By her, you’ll understand more once you read. At 1st I didn’t want to like her BUT then I read how Preach saw her, viewed her, and felt about her and then I understood.
Pretty was torn between her job and her heart and baby it sucked. Now do I think she’s gonna give up her job for him, only time will tell but the energy Preach has behind her just might cause her to make some drastic decisions. I really hope she tell her daddy to G2H. The way Preach gathered him at that family dinner, YES BAE!!!!!
The ending, WHEW!!! The way Preach was able to get everyone to come to church minus Zu && the sermon he PREACHED. You go baby!!!!! I loved that down bad. It is loyalty versus purpose, love versus duty, and faith versus survival. Preach is really that guy and watching him wrestle with who he is in the streets and who he feels called to be in the church was intense. The tension never lets up. Every decision feels heavy and the stakes feel real.
Preach and Navi? Yeah. Their relationship is complicated in a way that makes you nervous for them the whole time. She came into this with her own mission and her own responsibilities, and he has his. Now they are both standing at a crossroads trying to figure out if love is worth risking everything they have built. The way Preach loves her out loud is beautiful though. Pretty and Preach is still the cutest thing ever and I will not be arguing about that. But let’s be clear, outside forces are doing everything possible to test them.
And the chaos? It does not miss. The side characters are messy, emotions are high, and choices have real consequences. Some people are moving off ego, some are moving off fear, and some are just making reckless decisions that put everybody in danger. By the end I was stressed, proud, irritated, and fully locked in. This series keeps digging deeper into these characters and I am invested. Period.

Oooh when I say I need the next book IMMEDIATELY!! I have so many questions. What will happen to Chevy? How will Preach and Navi'a relationship play out? What will happen with this messy three way between Foe, Harvey and Zu? Will Preach's mom get her life back on track? Is Granny gonna be okay? Will Bookstore girl be okay? Where the hell is Lola plotting self and is she the culprit in question? Chile the Zoo Boyz going through it.
Preach, Holy but Hood. I really enjoyed his story. Wanting the love of his parents but not having either has weighed on him heavily. I was happy when he was finally able to let his father know his true feelings and no longer be weighed down by that burden. Those final moments of the book made me smile, although they were quickly overshadowed.

I couldn’t put this down! I can’t wait to see what unfolds! I loved the chapter headings with the pictures. I love when authors put a face to the characters. Having it on every chapter was completely different and a very creative idea, at least for me. I loved that!

I realize Tatiana is creating intrigue and developing her writing style with each book. I loved getting to know Preach, and I find it refreshing that these characters have the ability to tap into their emotions. I am having a hard time because insta Love is a love-hate trope for me. I usually need certain parameters to be able to go with the flow. This is a me issue, not a writer failure. Overall, I'm excited to find out what is next.

These series stay playing with these cliffhangers 😩 but I can’t even lie this one was easier to follow. It was a lot of characters, but the pictures helped heavy.

Priest!
This book gave great insight into Priest journey. It’s zoo over everything for him. All of these boys seem to fall for the girls that end up getting them caught up. Something is definitely brewing between Harvey and Foe and I think this will end up putting Zu and Foe in a bad spot. Whatever is going on with Chevy I hope he gets through it.

so i’m about 50 pages in and I just feel like there’s no buildup with the romantic relationships, like they not even yearning for them. Preach and Navi literally all of this happened in the same day.
The fact they barely communicate what they’ve been doing is so weird for a group running together. Like they trust eachother but their actions don’t convey that. AKA preach and the cop is INSTALOVE and it’s not the good kind. like i’m actually confused because they haven’t even had a full conversation fr

Whew!! SO much happened in this book, and it happened FAST! Tatiana Timmons did not let up for a second—I was hooked from page one!
We meet Navi, Rayana, and Zari, and let me tell you, their stories had me in my feelings the whole time.
💔 Navi & Preach – Their chemistry is undeniable, but there are so many obstacles keeping them from truly being together. Preach is caught between his faith and the streets, and Navi is right in the middle of that storm.
👀 Rayana & Diamond – She has a little crush on my boy Diamond, and I NEED to see where this goes! But what really got me was when she popped up at Chevy’s house... I need answers!! What does she KNOW about him?!
🔥 Zari & Chevy – Aka Mystery Man & Bookstore Girl. These two are literally the same person in different bodies—stubborn as hell but constantly crossing paths like fate is SCREAMING at them to get it together. How many signs do they need before they realize they’re meant to be?!
😡 Now let me just say… I HATE Navi, Rayana, and Zari’s dad!!! Sir, WHY can’t you mind your own damn business?!
💔 Chevy, my guy… You have a whole team behind you willing to ride or die for you, and yet you STILL trying to handle everything on your own? 😩 LET THEM HELP YOU!! You don’t have to fight these demons alone.

Whew!! SO much happened in this book, and it happened FAST! Tatiana Timmons did not let up for a second—I was hooked from page one!
We meet Navi, Rayana, and Zari, and let me tell you, their stories had me in my feelings the whole time.
💔 Navi & Preach – Their chemistry is undeniable, but there are so many obstacles keeping them from truly being together. Preach is caught between his faith and the streets, and Navi is right in the middle of that storm.
👀 Rayana & Diamond – She has a little crush on my boy Diamond, and I NEED to see where this goes! But what really got me was when she popped up at Chevy’s house... I need answers!! What does she KNOW about him?!
🔥 Zari & Chevy – Aka Mystery Man & Bookstore Girl. These two are literally the same person in different bodies—stubborn as hell but constantly crossing paths like fate is SCREAMING at them to get it together. How many signs do they need before they realize they’re meant to be?!
😡 Now let me just say… I HATE Navi, Rayana, and Zari’s dad!!! Sir, WHY can’t you mind your own damn business?!
💔 Chevy, my guy… You have a whole team behind you willing to ride or die for you, and yet you STILL trying to handle everything on your own? 😩 LET THEM HELP YOU!! You don’t have to fight these demons alone.

Listen… Preach might be one of my favorite characters in the Zoo Boyz crew so far. A man walking with Christ and moving through the streets? That duality made his character really interesting to read. He’s trying to live right, stay grounded in his faith, but still exists in a world where things aren’t always clean and simple. That internal balance gave him depth and made me root for him.
Now let’s talk about him and Navi. I understand insta-love as a trope, but their connection moved real fast. I would’ve loved a little more build up between them before everything locked in the way it did. The chemistry is there, but it felt like we skipped a few steps on the emotional development side.
What I really love about this series though is how the author keeps planting little questions about the rest of the crew that make you want to keep reading.
Because what’s going on with Chevy?? Something feels off with him and I’m convinced he’s hiding a medical issue or something serious from the rest of the guys.
And I’m still side-eyeing the situation with Foe and Harvey… I have no clue how that’s going to play out. Plus Zu is still in the mix, so that whole dynamic feels like it’s building toward some major drama.
Overall, this installment gave us a deeper look into Preach and kept the mystery around the rest of the Zoo crew alive. I’m definitely locked in to keep reading because I need answers about Chevy, Foe, Harvey… all of it.

PREACH!!!
One thing for and two for certain Preach is nothing to play with at all! Don’t let he’s dedication to GOD fool you! He is about that life and coming hard behind The Zoo Boyz!
Preach handle the cards he was dealt the only way and the best way he knew how! However, we came to his family (them Boyz) he was a complete different person!
The love & loyalty that he has for all of them especially Chevy is like no other.
He’s stuck between a rock and a hard place when it comes to his calling and where brothers! As for the love life, still unsure about Navi but hope her love for Preach is as real as his.
Chevy, I think him my book bae 🤣!! However, the way he coming behind Zaria is giving life! He truly does just like everyone else deserves love! The way he is reacting towards Zaria crazy to him, however his part is in the way! Unsure on everything that happened in his past but it will all come out soon I believe! I’m so curious on what Lola desperate but has over him that he doesn’t want to come out. Whatever it is Harvey doesn’t even know. Really waiting to see what all comes to light.
Now Harvey!!! I need my girl to let go of Zu. He’s too selfish for my liking and he doesn’t even see it! I would like her with Foe! It may not look good on her part because entertained Zu, but I love their energy when they are around each other!
Well headed over the Diamondland now!!!

Okay, so boom. This book wasn’t bad… but once again it felt like Tatianna tried to squeeze a whole season of drama into a fun-sized packet of pages. The pacing? A lil rushed. The transitions? A lil clunky. And the Zoo Boyz? A LOT messier than they claim to be.
For men who are supposed to be top-tier, elite, highly respected street kings, they make entirely too many rookie mistakes. It’s giving clumsy, unorganized, and how did y’all even build a multimillion-dollar empire with this level of chaos? Because baby… The Infernos and the Delgatos would NEVERRRRR 🤌🏾.
Now let’s talk about Preach. AGAIN, this man is in the throes of another woman, instantly infatuated, instantly suspicious, and yet somehow still instantly in love. And when he finds out she’s a cop? A literal police officer?
Does that stop anything?
NOPE.
Not even a lil bit.
Please be serious. 🙄 If your jaw dropped, imagine my spirit leaving my body when I read it.
And then there’s the prideful beef within the Zoo Boyz. They can run multimillion-dollar businesses but can’t work out their issues together. The math is NOT mathing.
Overall, entertaining? Yes.
Frustrating? Also yes.
Do I want to shake this entire fictional friend group? Absolutely.
But will I keep reading because I need to see if they finally get it together?
sigh … yes. Because clearly I’m in too deep at this point.
