These Witches Don't Burn #2.5

These Charms Won't Fade

Seven years after the events of This Coven Won’t Break, Hannah and Morgan are back for a cozy, romantic short story full of magic and new beginnings.

Twenty-five-year-old Elemental Witch Hannah Walsh has life pretty much figured out. She has a (fine) job as a graphic designer, lives with her incredible girlfriend (fellow witch Morgan Hughes), and has (mostly) recovered from the turbulent experience of defeating the Witch Hunters when she was a teen.

But when her friend Cal stops by for dinner with a unique offer from the Council that oversees the three Witch Clans, Hannah must decide if she’s content with her quiet life… or if she’s ready for something more.

this 7,000-word short story contains spoilers for These Witches Don’t Burn and This Coven Won’t Break. It’s recommended to read These Charm Won’t Fade after finishing the original duology.

These Charms Won't Fade was just as sweet as the rest of the series. We get to see how everyone's doing eight years on, and some more romantic scenes between Hannah and Morgan. The door was left open for more books, which I'd love to read, if we do end up getting them. Especially now that the author is waddling into adult romance waters. I Highly recommended this series!!

This series holds a special place in my heart. Reading about Hannah and Morgan’s relationship as adults filled me with a warm, fuzzy feeling that only Isabel Sterling’s writing can create. She has such a beautiful way of blending magic, love, and self-discovery, making her characters feel real and easy to connect with.

I’m not sure if there will be another book or series after this ending, but I truly hope so — I’d love to see Hannah and Morgan embark on this new adventure. Isabel Sterling’s stories always leave me wanting more, and this one was no exception.

I just finished the short sequel, which gives a glimpse into the characters’ lives several years later. It’s a brief story, but it offers a nice look at how they are living now and how things have changed.

They are faced with an offer that would mean leaving their quiet, peaceful life behind. At the same time, it gives them the chance to pursue new dreams and help build the future of the witch clans. Even though it’s a short story, it adds something meaningful to the series and leaves you thinking about what might come next.

This was a lovely novella that I am giving five stars. You definitely need to have read the rest of the series to appreciate this, you’d be lost if you didn’t, and it’s got spoilers for the previous books.

I loved getting to read more of Hannah and Morgan, especially as seven years have passed. They’re now living together, and their feelings for each other are both going strong. Their magic has also strengthened, and Hannah uses it in the most adorable way when she sends small currents of air to greet Morgan whenever Morgan arrives home, or Hannah wakes up in the morning.

We also get to catch up with several more of our favorite characters from the series such as Gemma, Cal, Jamie, Hannah’s mother, and more. And it’s comforting to go back to familiar characters, like coming home.

It’s not a very long novella, but it’s just so nice to see Hannah and Morgan growing up happily together. I hope we get more glimpses of their lives in other novella’s at a later date. The story is low angst, and high romance, although it is aimed at young adults so it’s fade to black. If you were a fan of the previous stories in the series, you’ll enjoy this.

A very cute follow up novella to the rest of the These Witches Don't Burn series. It was nice to check in with Hannah and Morgan, who are still going strong, and see how their relationship has grown and matured. This also hints at a possible spinoff that I sincerely hope happens, with them potentially teaching a new generation of witches.

back in 2022 i read These Witches Don't Burn and This Coven Won't Break and they were one of the first sapphic books i read, they have a special place in my heart so finding out it had a short story about Hannah and Morgan 8 years in the future was very exciting.

They're so cute and i'm so glad we got to see this little snippet into their life and what's to come next in their shared journey :)

Such a cute ending to the duology of These Witches Don't Burn. If felt good, even if for a brief moment, to check in with Hannah and Morgan. I truly loved the whole duology.
These Witches Don't Burn was one of the first sapphic book I've ever read, so this holds a special place in my heart. That's a goodbye, for now, I hope!

What kind of a-hole doesn't take their cats with them to move to another country??

This was just more lust and surface level crap. I assuming it gave a "happy ending" wrapped in a bow for those who read the books. It was just as unsatisfying as the other books.
