Benjamin Percy is the author of seven novels -- most recently The Sky Vault (William Morrow) -- three short fiction collections, and a book of essays, Thrill Me, that is widely taught in creative writing classrooms. He writes Wolverine, X-Force, and Ghost Rider for Marvel Comics. His fiction and nonfiction have been published in Esquire (where he is a contributing editor), GQ, Time, Men's Journal, Outside, the Wall Street Journal, Tin House, and the Paris Review. Lo primero que llama la atención, y en el mal sentido, es lo absurdo del planteamiento Red Band: se permiten mutilaciones explícitas, pero se censuran las palabrotas. Ese tipo de contradicciones ya dejan entrever lo tibia que va a ser la serie desde el arranque.

La introducción a la trama no es mala, pero tampoco tiene nada de especial para tratarse de un número uno. Funciona, se deja leer, pero no impacta ni marca territorio.

Por ahora, quien más intriga me genera es Kingpin. Esta versión del Castigador, de momento, se queda en segundo plano.

i should have read this one sooner, i was waiting for it and kinda forgot about it. but GOD this was the biggest, we are so back as the punisher i read in a while. i always have some problems with the way they write frank and the punisher, but this was another level. i enjoyed it throughout, the violence and gore in this was something i hadn't seen in punisher comics for a while and the art from this was so fucking good. this just feels specially made for punisher fans (me.)

Certainly a gripping story from the start, with characters that will feel familiar to you if you are jumping into this after previous interest in Marvel’s TV offerings, as I have. Not one, but TWO serious villains are introduced— The Kingpin and Tombstone— and I’m interested to see the roles they will each play in Frank’s story.
