A thoughtful little book about creativity in general, but through drumming, the author being the brilliant drummer of Medeski Martin & Wood. I probably liked the book better given my love of that band, but maybe knowing them isn't required. The book itself is a lovely little object, and included within is plenty of Martin's artwork as well. Plus it came with a CD of often percussive and minimalistic songs he recorded with various other musicians.

Fantastic book of short essays focused on drumming, jazz, improvisation, and creativity. You don't have to be a musician to dig it, but it will help.
