The Weather Wizard shows up looking like some kind of a Hobo Zeus, and I'm here for it even if he's just a side piece in this issue.
Love Grodd. Favorite part of this whole series is the friendship between those two. Speaking of friendships, the Rogues finally do what the Rogues do best.
I wasn't sure about this one at first, but I'm absolutely hooked now. Recommended.["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>
A huge storm hits the city out of no where, no shock as it’s being caused by another Forte Fox escapee, one who can control lightning. Grodd leads Wally and the Rogues to the escapee, and Wally defeats him by absorbing his lightning to power himself up.
Maybe the God Eleanor Thawn was talking to Wally’s dad/Colonel West about is actually the speed force, and they’re making all these meta humans with it somehow. The DC K.O. Preview in this issue was pretty cool, I think I’ll be reading it next.
Grodd continues to be my favorite part of this series. I will be so sad if anything happens to him.
I am also very intrigued by Eleanore Thawne. She might be my favorite Absolute Universe villain so far. I am desperate to know more about what she's up to and what Project Olympus really is. Very cool that we got to meet a new metahuman from Project Olympus in this issue.
Also I really like the Flash costume design in this! It's so fun.
The relationship between Wally and Grodd is becoming my favorite aspect of this book. The ending sets up a promising direction for next issue, and maybe for the series to come.
YES YES YES YES YES, now we are cooking with gas! As I was going through this issue I could feel the cogs turning for a major team up and I couldn’t be any happier from the conflict and conclusion of this issue! Wally has finally reached a point that he has run so much that there isn’t much energy left in him to run any linger, he needs to eat and the only place in Kindtown, Missouri is a gas station. At the very least it gets Wally out of the major storm brewing around him that has scared Grodd half to death. But there is an odd thing that happens when he walks inside, it’s as if his reflection in the glass acted differently? Mirror master…are you watching? Wally doesn’t have any cash, and unfortunately the clerk in a place literally called Kindtown isn’t looking to held a hungry runaway. So Wally decides to apologize and super speed his way through and take what he needs…only to promptly pass out from exhaustion before he could get out the door.
Elsewhere Wally’s dad is set for execution after he found the alien secrets in the depths of Fort Fox, but he pleads mercy and promises to help get Wally back if they don’t kill him, Thawne agrees. When asked about the aliens, she mentions that they are the predecessors and they found “it” first. When pressed further about what they found, all she will say is that they found god.
Jumping back to Missouri, the storm is only getting worse and even the rogues transport is struggling to get through it. But based on their tracking they can’t go all the way through it, they have to go in the middle of it as that is where Wally and Grodd are. Wally wakes up in the towns jail, but as the sheriff goes to open his bag, all he finds is his suit, Grodd is no where to be found. As the thunder roars again, suddenly the wall in the jail explodes as the rogues make a grand entrance. Wally literally can’t do anything with how hungry he is and all he wants to do is find Grodd. So Cold strikes a deal with him, they can track and find Grodd and he just has to promise not to pull anything, then they can all get out of there. Wally agrees, and one blast from cold’s gun to shatter the cell, an energy bar and a suit up later and they are ready to head out into the storm and find Grodd, who is still in the middle of it. The rest of the rogues really can’t handle the storm, but with what little energy Wally has, he is able to super speed his way through it to save his only friend…only to get immediately struck by lightning. Before he could wake back up, Grodd found him and pointed out the source of their problems…a literal WEATHER WIZARD! HELL YES, he legit looks like a wizard! I love it! With his staff in hand and long beard, there is no way in hell he is being taken back to fort fox. Wally tried to appeal to him, that he came from there too and Barry Allen did this to him, but that name only set weather wizard off as Barry also did this to him. As Wally is thrown around the storm in mini tornados, Grodd is unable to act out of fear but Wally refuses to stay down. Earlier that lightning hurt like hell, but now he’s wondering if he doesn’t let it hit him…but let it inside of him! Suddenly Wally is being struck by lightning, but taking in all of the energy from it and turning it back into speed force energy which he immediately unleashed on weather wizard in a powerful punch! As the storm went away the rogues were able to catch up before Wally could run off. He isn’t going back to fort fox, and the rogues agree. Cold immediately turns to his team, he proclaims that they are weapons now and can do whatever they want…so it’s time to go rogue and Wally is coming with them!! HELL YES! Please drag weather wizard along, I’m sure he will be chill, I swear.

Some nice scenes with Flash putting his powers into action, but the story in this book remains really light, definitely the scantest of the Absolute books. I like the prospect of Flash teaming up with the Rogues, but it kind of comes out of nowhere, not really set up like the similar move of Absolute Batman growing up with those who would be his rogues.

3.5. Loving where this is going - I get why we needed a set up for character backstory last issue now. I’d like to see more from Wally’s fights with the escapees from Fort Fox, just because the two we’ve seen so far have been very fast paced. Other than that, I love how Wally’s power is being explored.
another issue that honestly felt a bit rushed. This same storyline would have worked a lot better if it was spread over more issues, given just a little more depth. I feel similarly about issue 5. Am interested what they're going to do about the god thing, because it is linked in universe with absolute wonder woman (as we saw in issue 5)
Wonderful issue of Absolute Flash. The artwork was on point. In the previous issues the storyline was all over the place, but in this issue there is more focus. Wally is rescued by a surprise group of friends. Looking forward to reading next issue.
The story was simple and Wally fainting because of hunger is a really old plot device, the ending was unexpected and made me more eager to read the next part
Another great one. It's kinda refreshing seeing Barry as an ass and Wally being... well, better than usual. Love how they ended "wanna go rogue". Fantastic
I think this issue is okay. I’m not finding that depth and substance that was present in the first several issues but at least the story is progressing.
Wow, if this is a sign of things to come then I am all-in! The art here is gorgeous, and the direction of the story is pretty intriguing. Wall and Grodd's companionship continues to be very adorable.
