(1)romance author
Susan Eloise Spaeth was born on 11 December 1946 in Cuthbert, Georgia, USA. She was the eldest daughter of Maggie Eloise Cliatt, a nurse and also journalist, and William Olin Spaeth, a college professor. Her mother was part of the women's liberation movement many years before it became fashionable. Her best friends are her mother and her sister, Dannis Spaeth (Cole), who now has two daughters, Amanda Belle Hofstetter and Maggie and lives in Utah. Susan grew up reading Zane Grey and fell in love with cowboys. Susan is a former newspaper reporter, with sixteen years experience on both daily and weekly newspapers. Since 1972, she has been married to James Kyle and have since settled down in Cornelia, Georgia, where she started to write romance novels. Susan and her husband have one son, Blayne Edward, born in 1980.

She began selling romances in 1979 as Diana Palmer. She also used the pseudonyms Diana Blayne and Katy Currie, and her married name: Susan Kyle. Now, she has over 40 million copies of her books in print, which have been translated and published around the world. She is listed in numerous publications, including Contemporary Authors by Gale Research, Inc., Twentieth Century Romance and Historical Writers by St. James Press, The Writers Directory by St. James Press, the International Who's Who of Authors and Writers by Meirose Press, Ltd., and Love's Leading Ladies by Kathryn Falk. Her awards include seven Waldenbooks national sales awards, four B. Dalton national sales awards, two Bookrak national sales awards, a Lifetime Achievement Award for series storytelling from Romantic Times, several Affaire de Coeur awards, and two regional RWA awards.

Inspired by her husband, who quit a blue-collar manufacturing job to return to school and get his diploma in computer programming, Susan herself went back to college as a day student at the age of 45. In 1995, she graduated summa cum laude from Piedmont College, Demorest, GA, with a major in history and a double minor in archaeology and Spanish. She was named to two honor societies (the Torch Club and Alpha Chi), and was named to the National Dean's List. In addition to her writing projects, she is currently working on her master's degree in history at California State University. She hopes to specialize in Native American studies. She is a member of the Native American Rights Fund, the American Museum of Natural History, the National Cattlemen's Association, the Archaeological Institute of Amenca, the Planetary Society, The Georgia Conservancy, the Georgia Sheriff's Association, and numerous conservation and charitable organizations. Her hobbies include gardening, archaeology, anthropology, iguanas, astronomy and music.

In 1998, her husband retired from his own computer business and now pursues skeet shooting medals in local, state, national and international competition. They love riding around and looking at the countryside, watching sci-fi on TV and at the movies, just talking and eating out.

These books are probably at the bottom of the DP books I’ve read. Didn’t like the H’s of either book.

To stories of heros in one way or another.

Night of Love is about international intrigue and spying. Meg and Steven were engaged years ago but amisunderstanding had Meg leaving him for he chance to become a Prima Ballerina. Now because of an injury to her ankle she is back in Wichita where her brother works for Steven's Multi-million aircraft company. But he is privy to things that Megan is not which leds to danger and intrigue.

Secret Agent Man is about Lang and Kirry. Lang was a CIA agent that has returned home to the less than glamorous slow lane of life and career. Kirry was Lang's ex-fiancee but his love of justice and his wanting to be in the CIA, he cancelled the engagement. Kirry is now an employee at the firm that Lang now manages security for. Kirry now is being ataked by an ex-employee who is after her because he was fired because of her.

2 great stories in one book. Well developed characters and plot lines.

Diana Palmer books never go out of style. I have lots of books to read and review, but I found myself stopping and taking a deep breath, then reread "Man of the Hour" that includes 'Night of Love' and 'Secret Agent Man', published in 2009, in Long Tall Texans Series. I have read many many Diana Palmer books and will continue to do so. These two books brought me back to why I read romance books. A great author never goes out of style, and new writers have people like Diana Palmer to thank for helping them to move into the genre. I loved rereading these treasures. Thank you to the author for all of the great books. 4.5 Stars!

I only read the second novella, 'Secret Agent Man'. Diana Palmer's books, while reliable for a solid love story, tend to be a bit redundant. The three I picked up recently (I guess I was in the mood for some love) all had the same elements: The hero and heroine already knew each other; There was some sort of misunderstanding that kept them apart (In Trilby he thought she was a loose woman (and latter that she loved someone else), In Secret Agent Man he'd left her after a misunderstanding, In Night of Love she left him). I understand the need for conflict, but it's just so pat.

NIGHT OF LOVE: To save her struggling dance company, Meg must accept an unthinkable offer from the man she thought betrayed her long ago. But will it cost her more to trust Steven or to deny the irresistible passion reigniting between them?

SECRET AGENT MAN: Corporate security chief Lang Patton could handle anything... except commitment. But to protect his ex-fiancee, Kirry Campbell, from a vicious stalker, Lange would rediscover a love worth dying for.

Two stories in one... a couple of older Palmer books are in this collection. My only complaint is that King's Ransom, the book that comes between the two books included, is neither in the book or currently in print/reprint or ebook form.
The two included are good.

I gotta take a break from reading this frothy, canned-plot light stuff! Ugh.
Too many at one time constipates my brain.

Two of Diana Palmer's books from 1993 are included in this book. They are both fun to read and provide good escape.
