Five years after the war, Hermione Granger has very little time for something like a relationship. She's far too busy trying to run the Bureau for Endangered Creatures efficiently, dealing with budget cuts and ignorant ministry officials and finding a way to somehow restore her parents' memories, who are still in Australia and none the wiser about the existence of their daughter.
When she discovers that the Wizengamot plans to use Draco Malfoy as a scapegoat whilst dealing with elusive Voldemort loyalists, she offers to testify for him. She's not quite sure how it led to her trying on wedding dresses under the watchful eye of Narcissa Malfoy.

It was ALMOST perfect, but I do think the ending was a bit rushed. From the chapter notes, I understood the author was not a fan of writing that kind of plot and it did feel like it was wrapped up too fast just to be done with it, which is a shame because otherwise it is truly great.

Started out good but then got super long and boring. Should have made it shorter to keep interest. Lots of unnecessary things added in or repetitive passages

A marriage of convenience that fairly quickly turns into two (wonderful) idiots in love. A good background plot, a bit weak at the end, but amazing overall and well worth the read. Definitely spicier in the first middle than the last 40%. I couldn’t put it down for the first 60% and suffered several sleepless nights and unproductive days.

I really liked parts of this, including the magic. This author didn't forget it. But some of the moral consequences/Hermione's acceptance of things were immature, and I grew somewhat dissatisfied in the back half and almost DNFd. I didn't really care for the conflict.

I do love a good Dramione romance. This was very long, very slow burn. but very worth it.

Almost 4⭐️ but not quite.
I LOVED 50% of the book and then felt just okay about the other 50% because it had great emotional build up but also super long boring parts. The last 30% of the book really dragged on and on for me and that feels like way too much.

DNF @ 78%. I tried but I just couldn’t get into this one. It’s well written but just missing that spark.

Since this is fanfiction, it gets 5⭐. I don't believe in giving less to fanfiction because it's not a book. It's a work of love and shouldn't be judged like a published work.

I really loved this story, it has some of my very favorite dramione tropes including arranged marriage (not marriage law, just arranged with a contract), and also the Malfoy family welcoming Hermione. Lucius was a little out of character, but I loved it because I loved the family dynamics. It reminded me of The Auction. The Malfoys protect their own, Malfoy men love their wives. Very Slytherin Hermione.

My only annoyance was that it started to drag in the last act. Most of the stuff that happens after the story climax feels a bit unnecessary and repetitive. Especially the repeated weddings... why? what was with that? dunno. But I would have preferred an epilogue a couple years later instead.

Sign me up for alll Dramoine Fanfic, except for
maybe this one haha. This had all the ingredients to be something immersive and emotionally gripping, but for me, it just never fully delivered. The slow burn was slower than collecting maple syrup and it was very repetitive . Certain themes and conflicts were revisited so often that instead of building tension, it had me rolling my eyes and struggling to stay invested. (We have already solved the house elf crisis 🙄).

The story clearly aimed for depth and atmosphere, but I desperately needed more grit and far less tea time. There were moments where the world-building and underlying tension showed promise, but the execution felt too restrained for my preference - it should have leaned harder into the rawness of its premise. I wanted a sharper conflict, higher stakes, and something that felt more emotionally and physically visceral.

Overall, this wasn’t a bad read, but it also wasn’t as compelling as I’d hoped. It had potential, but the sluggish pacing and repetitive nature dulled what could have been a far more powerful story.

Ahhh why did Draco have to be gone for so long??? I know it wasn't actually that much of the book, but it felt like forever. I loved seeing them fall in love. I also loved the way it made so much sense for her to agree to the marriage contract with her parents and all.

Theo in this was, of course, amazing. He did make some weird comments even though Daphne was standing right there, but it's whatever because it's Theo. I was mad at Harry for a minute when he arrested Draco. I know it's his job, but still.

Hermione, my queen, was absolutely iconic in this. I am obsessed with the way she masterminded Draco's freedom and totally humbled Kingsley. Kingsley and I have beef ever since I read Secrets & Masks...

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️| place holder for Sacramentum by MyDelphi

i haven’t devoured a story this quick and enjoyed it in this love. i loved the writing and how premise of the marriage of
convenience was written in such a tender slow burn. the building of trust between draco’s parents and hermione was to die for and i love a found family trope. their romance was sweet and intimate.

The story about convenience marriages, self-sacrifice, and a BAMF Hermione.

There’s no Ron or Weasley bashing in this fic- which is actually quite nice?

The plot is plotting!!!

Love the additions to the magic system in the form of old magic and the house stuff.

Draco being affected by his stint in Azkaban is soooooo sad but also so real in terms of keeping in line with what Lucius went through!

Wish we’d been able to read about her parents reaction to them wanting to get married, the muffle ceremony etc!!

The ending was a little rushed - Wish I had seen more of Draco. I really disliked Kingsley in this one and it was rather satisfying to see Hermione make winning political moves against him.

I love Hermione’s characterisation here and how she manipulated the press. This was such an entertaining fic to read. I appreciated that Malfoys’ parents had more redempton here.

i loved it. I must say some parts were a bit dragged out but besides that it was amazing. Hermione was so diva when she was trying to get Draco out of azkaban. i loved Lucius and Hermione’s relationship in this fic, i am so used to Lucius not liking her and this fic made me so happy with how both Lucius and Narcissa thought of Hermione as a daughter

320k word count-

started this as per a recommendation from Dramione January Reddit Bookclub but unfortunately didn't start reading it till February. Finished it within days and could NOT put it down. the story was just so well written and thought out. Set after the war, and a realistic marriage with contract conditions...

Draco: I would die for u
Hermione: I would kill for u

And I loved it

Loving these marriage of convenience ones. Loved the portrayal of characters. Loved how there was no Ron bashing and everyone was still friends. Missed that Draco didn’t have his whole group but it worked well with the story. Supportive Narcissa AND Lucious is nice too!

So, the story started off pretty solid but it fell off halfway. I just lost interest in the story after the first half. I think the story lacked depth. I just forced myself to finish it. Not my favorite fanfic at all.

The story itself is good and well thought out. The typos and overuse of comas in the first half almost got me.
