The real nightmare isn’t what she forgot…it’s what she’s about to remember.
And her stalker knows everything.
Beth Carter’s past is a void. She has fragmented dreams and memories that don’t make sense. Her whole life she felt that something was missing. And now she’s become obsessed with finding answers.
But she never expected the answers to come chasing her—or get her abducted.
As an undergraduate, Beth is used to doing research. But doing research on her own past reveals a dangerous truth. Someone has been rewriting her life.
Beth is thrust into a deadly game of obsession and deception, where every answer leads to more questions. And the people she thought she could trust are the ones keeping the darkest secrets.
I found this very confusing. Is there some weird faction involved? Does Beth merely have a stalker? A little more context could have gone a long way. I felt like I was dropped into the middle of a story where I had missed all of the background information that would make this make sense. Also, if it were made into a full novel showing what she learned from her family there would be more of a conclusion.
Obsession: Psychological Thriller Novella, my first read from author Clarise Foster. A 76-page domestic thriller. I received a complementary Kindle copy of Bloodline Secrets and wanted to read this one first.“I received a complementary Kindle copy of this book & am voluntarily leaving a review." The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. I'll be reading more from this author. I look forward to reading more from this author with Bloodline Secrets next on my TBR list. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).
Between 3 and a half and 4. It's well written, had me continuing to read wanting to know what comes next but...it is sort of like listening to someone tell you an event that they assume you know so they leave out alot of details. I'm not sure of the setting, location, whatnot but it has a gothic feel and I enjoyed it
This author does a great job bringing you into how the main character feels as she tries to get answers about her family, but in the process realizes she has a stalker. Each feeling, sight, and sound draws you in. This is a very short read that leaves you wanting to know more.
Only took me long to read because I read these types of books at night while my kids sleep! That being said, I loved this one! Kept me at the edge of my seat the entire time & I just couldn’t get enough of it! I can’t wait to see what else this author has in store!
It was a good book! I think if it was a little longer, it'd be better. There was no back story and tons of questions. Beth was a student and one clue ended up leading her to a kid in her class, Eric, which had a growing obsession.
