A work of fiction inspired by actual events. A follow up to Kathryn's first book Unfollow Me.
As the first book gripped me with fear, anxiety and tremendous anger, not only for Kathryn but also for all Stalker Victims around the world, the follow uo and continuation of the story was so different, yet the same. I couldn't put it down, I felt every one of Kathryn's emotions, who could she trust, who was on her side. Words spoken, did they hold an undertone, could she move on as Tara, the fictional character that is now under the Witness Protection Program in New Zealand.
Trying to build a new life, a new job with new friends. Kathryn has potrayed Tara as her as a character who is now in the hands of Kade, a protector. Todd is supposedly still in the USA, but new traumas, old wounds still bring up uncertainty. Not letting many people in, she is lonely but a quieter life eases her fear, if only slightly.
A gripping, thriller that I held on too. Praying for a resolution for Tara. So she could get some happiness & control back without so much fear. I think being stalked to to that level of intensity, you must find it incredibly hard to trust, to move on. But ai do truly hope that 'Kathryn' has been able too.
A brilliant well written account, Kathryn's health has obviously suffered due to the never ending stress and fear of Todd, he should have been thrown in prison and never let out again. Life is unfair in so many ways. The story, leads to an epic conclusion, I was holding my breath the whole time, praying for some karma for the characters who betrayed Tara. Kade was acting very suspicious at times, but it all came together in one riviting conclusion.

Kathryn writes with passion, is a natural writer. I really hope I get the privelage of being an ARC reader for the next books in her career, as I am confident that she will write many more fantastic books. In the meantime I look forward to reading What Follows, how Tara moves on in her journey, and that we get some idea of Kathryn's life now, even if it's written as a fictional character!
Thankyou to Kathryn & After Dark Ink for allowing me to read & review another terrifying, passionately written book.

Summary:

After the events of authors experience in "Unfollow me", Kathryn joins a fictional Victim Protection Program, designed to help survivors escape not just their stalkers, but the lingering trauma that follows. Under a new identity "Tara Quinn", she’s relocated overseas, assigned a federal handler named Kade, and tasked with building a new life from nothing.

Review:

He Follows Me by Kathryn Caraway is a gripping and emotionally charged psychological thriller about a woman trying to rebuild her life after surviving a relentless stalker. Told through hauntingly intimate prose, it explores the lasting effects of fear, trauma, and the desperate search for safety. When the victim joins a protection program and assumes a new identity, she quickly learns that escaping the past is far more complicated than changing her name.

Caraway’s writing is both raw and lyrical, weaving tension and vulnerability into every scene. Drawing on real experiences, she captures the suffocating paranoia and courage of survival with striking authenticity. This isn’t just a thriller — it’s a powerful, unsettling portrait of resilience.

He Follows Me is the second book behind Unfollow Me. This book follows up based on a more fictional aspect in conclusion to the true story of what happened to Kathryn Caraway in her first novel.
This book was intense. I turned pages, completely engrossed with what was going on. Fir her safety, Kathryn is given a new identity and sent to New Zealand so she'll be safe from Todd Bennett, her stalker.
This book dives into how hard it is to truly start over. to relax and act like nothing ever happened.
Always staring over your shoulder, sounds that make you jump. you're never truly safe. not when what happened lives in your head.
living in fear is something I cannot even begin to understand.
I found some parts to be slow. but I was so caught up in the life of someone who lives in fear, that it didn't really bother me.
I thought this book was amazing in telling what life is like after dealing with a stalker. it was emotional to say the say the least.
A Very intense and powerful book. And the end is mind blowing.
I'm very thankful to have been given the opportunity to read this as an ARC. ❤️

I received a copy of this book for free but all opinions are my own. He Follows Me is the fictional sequel to the true crime memoir, Unfollow Me. The author uses it to imagine an alternate resolution to the story. Just like Unfollow Me, you get a psychological deep dive into the trauma of a stalking victim. In this story, the victim - now called Tara - enters a program similar to something like witness protection. She has the assistance of government authorities watching over her as she reinvents herself in a new identity in New Zealand. There's all the struggles of fitting in there - finding a job and an apartment, finding friends but not getting to close or revealing her past, and dating again. But it is constantly overshadowed by the threat of the stalker locating her. Tara has to examine herself and decide how she'll handle that if it happens. The tension in this novel is like a high wire. She could fall at any moment and Tara doesn't entirely trust the net (her handlers) to catch her. I did like that we got the point of view of one of those handler - protectors. The agent in question has to keep Tara safe, and if she cracks, or if the stalker finds her, that's a job with no room for error. The pace picks up as the novel progresses and races to it's terrifying conclusion. This book is perfect for psychological thrillers and those interested in the PTSD of stalking victims. I highly recommend it, especially if you've read Unfollow Me already, though you don't need to read the true crime memoir first to appreciate this book.

This is a follow up to the first book, Unfollow Me. Kathryn is now under a new identity, Tara Quinn, where she has relocated overseas. She is trying to build a new life from nothing and getting away from Todd and everything he destroyed.

Now in New Zealand she is finding a new job, new apartment, new friends, but trying to keep the past from coming out. I love that this story gives us a deep dive twist of a different take of the story of the story of the psycho stalker. “Tara” is now in something similar to a witness protection program, but she is constantly worrying that her stalker will find her and wondering how she will handle it that happens. We get to witness as she gets to take back some control of her life and find her happiness again. This book like the first one had my attention the entire time. I couldn’t put it down. I found myself holding my breath, gripping on to my seat, and hoping for justice for Kathryn all over again. I loved the different take on this, the alternate ending to it all. It was written so well.

He Follows Me is the fictional conclusion to Kathryn Caraway’s true crime memoir, Unfollow Me. By shifting from real life horror to fiction, Caraway gives both herself and her readers a sense of closure to her heartbreaking story of surviving a stalker.

If you haven’t read Unfollow Me, I highly recommend starting there as He Follows Me picks up where that story left off.

This book is every bit as unsettling. Kathryn enters a protection program, forced to change her name, location, and everything she’s ever known. But even with a new identity, the fear never truly fades. She’s constantly looking over her shoulder, never fully safe, and when strange things begin to happen, she starts to question whether the people protecting her are as trustworthy as they seem.

Caraway does a great job merging her reality with fiction, crafting an ending to her story that feels real. It’s a way to access closure while getting revenge.

I recommend He Follows Me!

Again, another 5 star read from Caraway- this book was fantastic. A reimagined or alternate ending to the first book Unfollow Me. What if Kathryn went into a victim protection program (like witness protection but for survivors or stalking crimes).

He Follows Me takes Kathryn and her new identity to a new location where she can start her life anew. But can she really?

This psychological thriller still had me on edge wondering if Todd would find her. He still creeps me out just knowing his IT knowledge can take him to the ends of the earth. Frightening!!!

This did not disappoint and I feel like I can’t trust anyone anymore! But I’m here for it and waiting for more from Caraway!

Thank you to the author, Kathryn Caraway, and After Dark Ink Publishing Company for the opportunity to read this book. I received an epub and am leaving my review voluntarily.

This book was different for me - it is a part of a duet and yet the first book was nonfiction and this one was fiction. The first book was really good but I really wondered about the transition to fiction and would it be any good..... it was. I don't like to give out spoilers but there is point in which you will question who is trying to help and who is in league with the stalker giving you just a small window into what her world would be like but amplified.

Either of these books can be read as a standalone in my opinion however,

This fictional take on what happens next following Unfollow Me is riveting. Lots of twists and turns for Kathryn (now Tara) in New Zealand. Her story takes in a life that seems normal from the outside but the longer Kade is her handler in the protection program the more things come apart at the seams.

It seems like Tara found her niche and a cozy routine for herself but it went she thinks things are going well, she thinks she spots Todd. There is no way, right? Someone would have noticed, but just like before he always has a way to sneak around the system. I can’t wait to read the next book.

I received the book for free but the opinions are honest and my own.

From the first page to the final chapter, He Follows Me is an absolute thrill ride. Kathryn Caraway wastes no time pulling you into a story that grips you by the throat and refuses to let go. The tension builds masterfully, scene after scene, until you can almost feel the main character’s fear bleed through the pages.Even after finishing the book, I couldn’t stop wondering if the FMC was truly safe, or if her nightmare was still lurking just out of sight. It’s been a long time since a fictional story kept me this on edge, completely unable to step away. This is a must-read for every thriller fan who craves heart-pounding suspense and an unforgettable ending. I loved every minute of it!

He Follows Me by Kathryn Caraway is a gripping, emotionally charged psychological thriller about a woman rebuilding her life after surviving a relentless stalker. Now living under a new identity in New Zealand, Tara’s every step is shadowed by fear as she struggles to trust those meant to protect her. Caraway’s writing is raw, lyrical, and hauntingly authentic, perfectly capturing the tension, trauma, and fragile strength of survival. The dual perspectives heighten the suspense, leading to a breathtaking finale. Powerful, unsettling, and beautifully written! This is not just a thriller, but a stunning portrait of resilience and the courage to begin again.

I was not at all surprised how much I enjoyed this book!!!! The author keeps you in the story from page one. I feel like I lived this through her words and the telling is phenomenal. I was extremely lucky enough to be one of the arc readers of this book and was gifted a copy of it. She is AMAZING at how she pours her heart and soul into her work. I love being able to help spread the word on her work. All I ask is that she keeps the great books coming for us to dive into and read.

Kathryn did a great job with book two. The first book was an account of her own stalker, book two is a fictional sequel. Her stalker is released and she leaves the country and changes her name. She also has to wonder who she can trust after what she's been through. Can she trust her handlers and the government that put her in this program? Great book and I definitely recommend it!

I thought this duet was genius! I had no idea beforehand that this second book was fictional after the first one being a memoir. At first I was a little confused, what I liked about the first one was that it was true. I felt the real fear. HOWEVER, like I said, it wound up being genius!

The second book is a fictional thriller but you can really see that the author truly knew and FELT these emotions. Reading the real story first added a whooooole new level to reading the second. I loved this entire experience.

I did receive an ARC for this book from After Dark Ink Publishing, but these thoughts are completely my own.
