I'm just as confused as Jun in this volume. This volume further complicates the physiology of the devilbeasts. This didn't entirely feel like a filler but it offered little in terms of a story. The appearance of a new character was nice.

Rating Update 3/30/2019 - 3 to 2 stars. After having looked back on the volume, I remember being bored from all the chase scenes. I greatly enjoyed Hayami's entrance into the series and his comic relief but all of this doesn't save the volume from 2 stars.

Rating Update 19 May 2019
Two stars to one star. The chase scenes and the final fight scene are all one star content that lowers the volume's cumulative rating considerably. I did not like the volume's focus on the devilman schoolgirl and I enjoyed her demise since it freed me from my boredom.

Update
With the adoption of my new rating system, a two star rating is befitting. The original review and rating updates conform to the new rating system. I have looked through my "Devilman Lady Abridged" folder to remind myself of this volume's content. I am confused about how to rate this volume, like when I stated I was confused in the original review. There are scenes I disliked, like the schoolgirl fight scenes and my dislike for her alltogether, but the jokes with Hayami and my irresponsiveness towards most scenes leave me feeling that a two star rating is appropriate. Confusion is also an emotion that in this rating, was not towards a liking or disliking attitude for the book, but bewilderment and questioning the further progression of the series.
