Un filosofo e storico dell'arte s'interroga sul mistero e la singolarità delle pratiche e delle forme degli ex voto, immutate dall'antichità pagana a oggi e comuni alle società più diverse. La loro volgarità di forme anatomiche (mani, piedi, occhi, cuori, seni, genitali), il loro carattere ripetitivo e banale provocano infatti un certo malessere in chi ne ripercorre con lo sguardo le migliaia di esemplari.

Georges Didi-Huberman, a philosopher and art historian based in Paris, teaches at the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales. Recipient of the 2015 Adorno Prize, he is the author of more than fifty books on the history and theory of images, including Invention of Hysteria: Charcot and the Photographic Iconography of the Salpêtrière (MIT Press), Bark (MIT Press), Images in Spite of All: Four Photographs from Auschwitz, and The Surviving Image: Phantoms of Time and Time of Phantoms: Aby Warburg's History of Art.

Empiezo con lecturas para el TFG, y la verdad es que he encontrado este libro de casualidad porque el profesor me había recomendado otro. Pero que buen hallazgo
El concepto y la materialidad de los exvotos me parece tan interesante, y creo que esta a sido una buena lectura para irme adentrando en ello
Ahora quiero investigar equivalentes a los exvotos cristianos en otras culturas
