We were raised in the same broken house. We learned to survive the screaming, fists, and the silence while we were always together.
Kieran, Lucian, and I are triplets in every way that mattered, blood, bone, and bruises. But survival has its price, lines blur in the dark while secrets slip between walls too thin to hold them. And the one rule we swore to ourselves that we'd never break is the one temptation none of us can resist. Our parents want to tear us apart; the world would call us ruined.
But when the night closes in and we lock the door, there's only us. Three broken hearts, three wrecked souls and one sin we're not ready to let go of.
This isn't love the way you've been told. It's an obsession, survival. It's taboo, and it will burn us.
Trigger warning: This book contains content that some readers may find disturbing or sensitive—read with caution. Taboo scenes.
Twisted Desires is an intense and provocative read that dives into taboo territory. Heather Valerie’s writing is bold and unapologetic, exploring dark desires with a raw energy that some readers will find gripping.
The characters are passionate and daring, but at times their motivations felt rushed or underdeveloped, making it harder to fully connect with them. The pacing keeps the story moving, though a few plot points could have used more depth to balance the shock factor with emotional resonance.
Overall, Twisted Desires will appeal to readers looking for a steamy, boundary-pushing romance, but those seeking a more nuanced or emotionally rich story might be left wanting a little more.
Kieran, Lucian, and I grew up in the same broken house, learning to survive the fists, the screaming, and the suffocating silence. Bound together by blood, bone, and bruises, we became each other’s only refuge. But survival comes at a cost, and the lines between love, obsession, and taboo are quickly crossed in this story. This book gave me a strong V.C. Andrews vibe with its dark, twisted family dynamics and forbidden undertones. The chemistry is undeniable, and the spice is heavy, arguably overshadowing the actual plot, which felt a bit thin at times. If you’re here for story depth, you might feel it’s lacking, but if you’re looking for an intense, steamy, and taboo ride, it delivers. Trigger warnings galore: this one is not for the faint of heart. It’s taboo, it’s messy, and it pushes limits. Be warned before diving in. That said, it does end with a happily ever after, which may satisfy readers who want some light at the end of the darkness. Overall, not a bad read, but definitely niche and not for everyone.

This is my third book by Heather and I swear, crack is sprinkled on the books because I can’t get enough of them every single time! 🙌 This book is definitely not for everyone! If you’re looking for dark and very taboo, something short, quick and RIDICULOUSLY smutty, look no further, this is what you wanna read right here! Read trigger warnings!!!
I will read anything and everything Heather writes and eat it up every time! The only reason I’m giving this a 3 star rating is personal preference! I just realized that not all taboo books is something I enjoy hahaha but, doesn’t mean this wasn’t well done! It was very good, writing and flow, story, the smut… All wonderfully done, once again!
I’m sorry but I really wanted to like this more but I just couldn’t get into this. Loved the taboo and the spice was great but I just didn’t feel much excitement in the plot and it just didn’t really go anywhere. I thought the writing was actually really good and the characters but I didn’t get enough of an abusive vibe off the parents really 🤷♀️
This is a short novella that’s very dark, very taboo & very spicy. I liked the different dynamics between them, Lucian calm & collected, Kieran like a hurricane & Talia soft & gentle. Please make sure you read the trigger warnings, but if you find like me you’re intrigued, then fasten your seatbelt.
Short, fast paced, very dark, very taboo and very spicy. I enjoyed this novella. Lucian, Keiran and Talia are interesting characters with deep trauma that only adds to the bonds that are already intertwined by blood. Check your triggers if you need to before reading.
Short, taboo and a little bit dark but not too much. It’s short paced and has such good spice. I would have loved a bit more from Tali, but otherwise I really enjoyed this book and would highly recommend it for some short, taboo 🩸 triplets.
This read was short, taboo, spicy. All the things someone like me loves🤤 Heather did a really good job! I really liked Lucian, especially the MMF scenes. I wish there was a bit more, but otherwise it had my thighs clenching! 🤣
ARC ⭐️⭐️ very good book, pretty taboo. but short, and STEAMY! thank you for letting me read this book! definitely looking into your other books as well!
Wow, turns out I do have a Trigger… I liked the storyline. It was intriguing and gave me the Ick at the same time. This is not everyone’s cup of tea and I’m glad I got the chance to read it.
Review: I liked the dynamic of the main trio and I liked how they protected each other. I enjoyed that I didn’t know which direction it was going. I am happy that Talia got her happy ending!
This is my first book by Heather and I like her writing style. I will definitely be reading more of her work. Although this wasn’t for me, I would definitely recommend to people who enjoy short stories like this. Read at your own discretion! 💕
I wasn’t quite sure how I was going to feel about this book going in. It’s definitely dark and twisted. It has a good story line and believable characters. Lucian was my favorite. Lots of super spicy scenes. I gave it 3 stars because even though it’s a very realistic situation and proof of what a household can do to children psychologically, I feel like the spicy scenes overshadowed what would have been an amazing storyline. Maybe if it was just a little longer with more out of the bedroom scenes. But I still really enjoyed it and Heather did an amazing job capturing a story that others may not have tried to write.
**Read your TW on this Novella** Short and to the point, but def a 1000% taboo book. If you are unsure about such things, maybe not for you.
But if you are down with dark taboo and all the unhinged times that ensue, then this is for you. It is one wild ride, full of abusive parents, triplets brought together by a trauma, protective brothers, over their delicate sister. Their connection was strong, and went deeper than blood relation. They found their happiness in a world that didn't understand them, where they could protect one another and be what they wanted without judgement. The road getting to that point was not paved in gold, but in horror, abuse at the hands of their parents. They only had each other and thru the trauma, there was a bond that was created between them, as a way to cope with what was happening.
I read this book as an advance copy and this is the first time reading this author. I am looking forward to reading more of her work.
4 stars for being a story similar in "what the f**k" value as all the true crime murder stories you hopefully listen to if youre looking into reading this book. Not for anyone who is faint hearted and cannot handle the fact its a taboo book meant to strike that "oh my god 😳" chord. This book may not specifically go into any explanations as to the psychology of why the main characters are the way they are and choose what they choose but I mentally applied it myself thinking back to all the crazy murder and other true crime stories and the back stories of the murderer(s) within. If you can do that, you may be able to get past one specific trigger. if you love to listen to true crime and hate but love that feeling of "oh my god, what?!" as the story just kinda blows your brain to pieces trying to process it then I believe youll be ok reading this. If youre thinking of reading this to try a darker genre or taboo genre for the first time, probably wait list it.
Lucian is the strong and silent protector. Kieran the fun and carefree one, the sweet Talia who is gentle and meek. They live in a very abusive and messed up home , and they had to protect each other. Not only are they trauma bonded by they things their parents put them thru, but they're triplets.
They sought out comfort the only way they knew how and from who they trusted, each other.
This was a quick read and I ate it up! The smut was smuttin! 🤭 I do wish there was more backstory of what was going on with their parents and why they were the way they were. But I really enjoyed this read.
It was definitely in the realm of extreme taboo but i DEVOURED this novella. I enjoyed the short character development and the spicy scenes 🌶️🌶️🌶️. I removed a star because some of the main characters’ positioning during the spicy scenes was difficult to follow in my mind which took me out of the moment occasionally. Also, ‘sin’ was mentioned so much I thought it was in the title and it became a little redundant and repetitive. Otherwise, check your triggers and give this a try!
Taboo especially siblings are one of my favorites to read but I just struggled with reading this book. Some could be that I prefer a bigger plot and this was more centered around sex. I felt like the sex was pretty repetitive and just wasn’t super great. I wanted to love this book so much.
A story about triplets living in a nightmare house. Its a short read and lots of spicy. It does touch on some heavy subjects so definitely check the trigger warnings. I would love to read more from this author
This was my first book by Heather Valerie. While the writing style is good and the pacing strong, the extreme taboo elements were simply too much for me. Because of that, I couldn’t fully enjoy the story, even though it’s well put together.
This was my first read by this author and it was definitely a dark, taboo, and full of spice quick read. Will definitely be checking out future works from them 💜💜
3.5⭐️ If you want something with a lot of plot, then this isn’t for you. If you want a book filled with taboo smut then this is 100% worth the read. It’s short, spicy and overall a pretty good read.
It was rushed and too short. This could’ve been such a good novel. Need to build the storyline/backstory and depth of the characters and their desires over time.
