Creed’s decisions have caught up with him, and it isn’t looking too good for him. He’s right in the middle of this scandal with Vivian, putting so many things at stake. His name, his freedom, and his future are all on the line, and luckily for him, he has one hell of a father, who’s the only person that can help in getting him out of this mess.
While Law is putting in work, fighting for his son, him, and Soraya are also fighting to make things right this time around in their relationship. They won’t get anywhere successfully until Soraya commits to couple’s therapy, but it’s one thing that she’s afraid of because she doesn’t like to speak on the death of their daughter, Sarai. So, you have Law fighting for his son, his relationship with Soraya, and there’s a new problem on the rising with a client of his. Law was once defending one of the biggest rappers to come out of Miami, but a situation happens where Law decides that he no longer wants to work on the case, and that just might turn him into the most hated man in the world.
Soraya has a secret of her own that she’s keeping from Law. The thing about secrets, they always have a way to resurface, and this one just might have the power to destroy everything that Law and Soraya are focused on re-building again.
In this is Part 2, we’ll see all the things that transpire to be someone’s breaking point. With all the different directions that everyone is being pulled in, how do they all come out on top? How will Soraya, and Law get things back to what they used to be with so many things trying to prevent it from happening?
This man this man this man! His bde is freaking every thing! The way he slammed Creed then got to pacing! Whew made me want to jump in this book and jump on him something serious! This man doesn’t play no games! Not to mention that whole gala at the end! Part 3 about to be litt! Sensational!
This book was edited much better, so stars for that. I only have a few minor issues, and I’m not sure I can explain them perfectly, but maybe someone else who read it will get what I mean.
The writing overall was stronger, but at times it felt like Soraya was talking directly to us, the readers, instead of just letting the story flow. For example, there were lines like, “He took me through there, he put his hands on my neck.” I don’t know the exact term for that, but I noticed it a lot. It didn’t feel like regular or natural narration it felt more like a friend sitting across from you and retelling what happened. It’s not a bad thing but it’s weird for me lol I don’t like my characters talking to me lmao like I’m trying to watch from the stands.
I also really hope we get more depth from Soraya, because her behavior has been childish across these last two books. She chose divorce instead of trying to communicate, and whenever someone presses her for her side, she just points fingers. Sevyn was definitely wrong for sleeping with those women, but once you agree to work things out, that’s supposed to be it. Stop bringing it up every single time he calls you out on poor choices or bad behavior. The whole situation with Dominic felt unnecessary. I’m all for making a man feel it in his chest, but this came across more like trying to embarrass him. As soon as she decided to reconcile, she should’ve been honest. On top of that, I’m tired of her always crying and acting naïve it’s exhausting to read. Her emotional volatility is distracting.
I will also say I appreciate the drama of it all but because of the depth of the issues I feel as if Diamond needs to narrow it down some, like focus on 1-2 major issues with a few things sprinkled in but we have had dang near books worth of situations unfolding in two books. Like maybe it’s just me but I do like to see my characters get a moment or two to just breathe and be cute.
Law saves the review! I cant decide between 3 or 3.5.
I truly had a hard time reading these latest stories from this author. Book one, I had reservations and i believed it was better but then book two and i was like naw, my feelings are valid.
The constant repeat of unnecessary details. Like why address everything about the characters every-time they are brought up (meaning the same details from book one over and over). I cringed anytime Soraya parents came up, Like i know the daddy did the mama wrong and now stuck in the DR, geesh. (thats just one example) I didnt understand the point of Autumn and Kross chapter, maybe i’m missing it. I believe Creed, deserved more. And what is the obsession with all the characters being pretty and cocky, constantly dragged on for everybody. goodness gracious.
I skimmed through majority of the chapters because it was pointless. (i think some authors have a word count they strive to reach, these latest books are proving my point.) I gave my 4 stars for Law and Law only but I almost knocked that off because I really wasn’t a fan of him goin on live to get his shit off, he should of pulled up to the podcast the next recording, “like whats up lil b***ch”! But thats just my opinion.
One more thing and im done, because I ain’t nobody but a reader. Better editing please beyond the repetitive details, this book is written like a person talks. Which is not always bad, but if you start sentences off the same way back to back You are not reading your words out loud to see if it makes sense and that is a problem. Ok i’m done and again I ain’t nobody but the reader.

Law Brought the Pressure, The Plot Just Ain’t Match It 💨
I went into part two thinking it was finna shake the table, especially with that vendetta Edward Sterling had against Creed. But it didn’t hit as hard as I wanted — the tension was there, but the execution stayed a little too safe. Still, Law carried this story on his back. The way he schooled his boys on the law and their rights? That’s real man talk. It’s wild how fast life can flip when you’re in the wrong place, wrong time.
Seeing Law finally speak on losing his daughter hit deep. Yaya grew on me more this round, and Justin having Law as that solid male figure? Love that for him. Reggie was talking reckless, and Law checked him effortlessly — no need for noise when your energy demands respect. Dutch’s deceitful ways showing more by the day, and that whole Vivian mess? Creed was smart to dead that before it exploded.
Law is that perfect mix of street and scholar. Yeah, he’s cocky, but he moves with purpose. That “get back” moment had me locked in, but the overall pacing left me wanting a little more intensity. Still, it was a decent follow-up — not my favorite from this author, but solid enough to keep me curious about what’s next.
God protects his child ..Law is a smart man That’s why he’s a successful lawyer. He’s devoted to his family fighting to protect his family and life .One thing stuck with him when his mom told him. it was Dutch all this time. I had a feeling it was Dutch as a story when on Law confronted Dutch and asked him if he had anything to do with his father is killing and he lied right in his face. That’s when he knew he had to play the long game to get the answers he wanted..An Angel Came to the rescue, and given Law exactly the truth behind dutch. It’s been said it was done in the dark comes out and the light and it came out with an angel and a recording that Dutch it always in a battle that he had to fix everything to protect himself and his family and have peace for his dad has been taken away from him from a best friend.. There’s always an angel With a message when we need answers from God.
Geesh, Law is a strong man, but he had to endure some real stuff! Betrayal from the bones you love can be hard, challenging and can cause you a o lose yourself! Soraya will need to be strong for Law and be everything he has always been to her! I can see Freed and Legend gaining maturity, especially Freed he's so much like Law! I'm rooting for Autumn and happy that she has Soraya to help and support her along the way! Dutch and Kross like father and snakes two headed snakes in different life times! Looming forward to the finale as I know Law is going to come through his challenges and Soraya has to let go of all the transgressions that's has happened in the marriage in order for a clean slate to happen!
Part 2 was no joke from the beginning this book is so funny Cree is a hot mess I thought I was gonna pee on myself went and got him from that police station. I was so happy Law and YAYA Working things out And have a special surprise Man this entire book was so good, The ending Even though we Who killed law's father To see the way law Receive it Was astonishing. I cannot wait for part 3I really think that creed and amber will get together later in another book
This is a slow read, not too much action making you want to rush eagerly to the next chapter. I live the way Law is portrayed as being a great father to his sons and caring about other black young men. Soraya got on my nerve throughout this book and the first book. Her character is very childlike and immature. She does not give off BOSS BITCH moves always crying like a child when things does not go her way or when she messes up. She needs to own her mess and never be afraid to tell her husband anything. I hope the next book is a bit more interesting.
Law will come back stronger than before from this situation, although Dutch was wrong in every way. He manipulated Law's innocence. Law and Soraya will continue to be great. I can't wait to see what their new baby will be. Dutch won't take his punishment easy, but Law will handle him accordingly. I don't wish ill on anyone, but Kross should have known that someone was going to hurt him. After the way he handled Autumn, it was bound to happen. I can't wait to read part three.
Mannnnnnnnnn what a ending. I was glad Creed got out of his situation with Vivian because he didn't deserve that. The fact that she thinks he still suppose to be cool with her is crazy because her daddy almost ruined his life. I wasn't expecting YaYa to tell Law about Dominic at the ball but I'm glad she did and he didn't hear it from him and the wrong way. Lawdddddd I can't wait til Dutch get his because he is too grimmy. I just know Law going to hit him when he least expect it. Goodread I enjoyed this.
Law has prided himself on being strong and confident in his ability to practice law . And protect his sons and wife at all cost and getting things done. Now he is face with the wrost betrayal of his life from the man who raised him Dutch. Dutch had his father Knox killed because of jealousy and envy. Law and Soray have been thru the ups and down of losing a child and losing each other after the emotional pain of their marriage. Now everything is coming completely into the light how will Law deal with the recent betrayal.
Cliff hangers annoy me to no end BUT this one still gave a ton of details as whats to come! Diamond, you did it AGAIN! Law and YaYa’s story has been phenomenal..can’t wait for Part 3! The details have been so good that I actually felt as if I was there! Loved everything about this one! I’m so proud of your growth and quite frankly, you’re in my top 3 favorite authors! So grateful for you and your ability to pen a story! Keep that pen pushing sis!
OMG I am lost for work and lost for law. I am lost. He has been taking losses since he was born and to lose his father to the man who raised him that is just so terrible. Great read, I love this book. Yeah yeah is an amazing wife, mother and friend business as a woman. I love her for that great book. Can’t wait for a book to leave. I don’t know why Miss Johnson has to keep us waiting, but I love it.
I couldn’t put this book down. Diamond is one of my top five favorite authors. She never disappoints. I was but wasn’t shocked by Yaya’s secret. I wish she would have told him during therapy. Edward deserves what happens to him. Realistic, pointless, envy, jealousy and hate. Diamond drop number 3! I need to see how this plays out. Will the father and son make it?!
Creed finally got his act together. Sterling proved that he was beneath Law. Soraya’s growth is welcomed and Law’s endurance finally collapsed. Dutch received his payback from his son.
This book is written with intention, intellect and love. It makes you think and learn. The mental health advice is invaluable and can be applied to your own life. Diamond wrote the hell out of this story. I am officially hooked.
Loved the character development. Can’t wait for book 3. However, the constant “your” instead of “you’re” messes up the flow of the books. Tent v. Tint. Conscious v Conscience. It’s quite distracting and can be easily edited. No one is perfect but I know this author didnt do this in her prior novels to this level. Better editing. Hold go a long way.
Dutch had to know his time was coming. Yaya had to know the most hated and respected man was gonna find out Dominic seen his goods on his precious Yaya. Law 3 is gonna be the bitting to all of it and his arch nemesis will get it in the worst way!!! I pray nothing happens to the twins and healthier twins are on the way!!!!
I had bought part one and didn't read it 'cause I wanted the whole story at the same time. I bought part two so I started reading part one. Finished it and started part two and promised myself I would stop before the end. Now I feel like I am about to lose my mind. I want to be right there when he goes after Dutch with his low down azz!
Wow, I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing that Law found out about his godfather. Because of the love they have for each other. I was hoping that it was left in the pass because I don't want Law to get in trouble behind a hating/jealous nigga. I just want him and his family to get back to happiness.
From the start of this read you get trapped up in it. Wanting to know what’s going to happen next. The characters are very interesting and bold. I can’t wait to read what’s next for this Family. Hoping that Love and honesty serves them up. May the bad people take the stand
Hot Damn! This is getting so good. Will Law forgive YaYa? Will Law drop that evidence against Sterling? Will he have that recording cleaned up from the background sounds and hear the conversation Dutch had with his dad? I have to stay tuned to receive the answers to my questions!
I have read this authors ENTIRE catalog ( including her exclusives) and EVERY book is a 5 star read, including this one! I have a motto that says "EVERYTHING STOPS WHEN DIAMOND D DROPS"
Diamond does it again. This book was too good and my favorite couple Alecia and Montana popped in a couple of times. I love it. Now there was drama and boy it all came out at once, its too much, but in a good way. Can't wait for part 3.
My man my man my man. He stuck by his gut, but him in daddy mode is so sexy. I’m really trying to like Soraya but she seems selfish and refuse to take accountability like men don’t suppose to have feelings and emotions. Ima give her a chance for book 3, but girl 😒
Diamond D. Johnson always gives us her all. I loved both stories book 1 and book 2. I am holding my breath on the ending of book 2. Can’t wait for book 3!!! This series is a must red for sure.
This book draws you in from start to finish, I had been waiting for book 2 from the last word ready in book 1. Diamond never disappoints, excellent story teller! I enjoyed the cameo from the Kings and I cannot wait to continue the journey of Law!
