A Love Divided

Rate this book
Alydia was born under a rare celestial convergence, her soul marked by a magic unlike any other—power strong enough to bridge two fractured lands. Vesperia teeters on the edge of ruin, divided between rulers as different as night and day.

On one Orion, a sovereign of light, cursed to live with a false reflection. On the Kieron, cloaked in shadows, burdened with a soulless gaze. Enemies by blood, bound by destiny, each holds not only the fate of his realm—but half of Alydia’s heart.

But destiny is never merciful. To break the curses that dooms their world, Alydia must choose between them and condemn the other to eternal ruin.

As her powers awaken, Alydia is thrust into a dangerous game of secrets, betrayals, and ancient magic. The closer she draws to the truth, the line between love and destiny begins to blur, loyalties fracture, and darkness stirs.

In a world where every choice reshapes the fate of the realms, Alydia must decide who to save, and who to sacrifice, before both realms are lost forever.

Perfect for fans of epic fantasy romance and twists you will never expect. This heart-racing story will sweep you into a world where magic is power, love is dangerous, and every choice comes with a price. This book will leave you breathless and aching for more.

Beautiful writing and world building in this story. However I would have liked to see more character building as well. I had a hard time really connecting with any of them. It also was a bit slow paced in the beginning, but picked up later on. I enjoyed the story as a whole and definitely plan on continuing with the series to see what happens next after the plot twist at the end.

This book completely swept me away. The worldbuilding is beautifully crafted and feels vivid and immersive, making it easy to get lost in the story. The author’s creativity truly shines, and the magical atmosphere adds so much depth to the romance.

From the very beginning, I was drawn into the emotional journey and couldn’t put it down. The story builds beautifully and delivers an ending that truly surprised me.

Even though English is neither my first language nor my official language, I had no trouble understanding the book at all. The writing is clear, engaging, and easy to follow.

If you enjoy emotional fantasy romance with a magical atmosphere and an unpredictable ending, I can highly recommend this one.

I am team Kieron from the start!!! I personally struggle to get into books that are third person and more of a telling aspect than showing. But if you love, Lightlark and Powerless I would definitely recommend this for you! I can’t wait to see how she continues this series after that plot twist!!

I am curious to know what happens next!! Loved that there wasn’t really any cursing, and there was slow burn tension. The descriptions were beautiful and the world building aspect was interesting. I could picture each scene in my mind and it was an easy read. I definitely enjoyed it and I would love to find out where the rest of this story goes. I’d love to see more relationships build in the shadow realm. The third person perspective was done well!

I did notice a couple of times where it looked like a line or two had been moved onto another page but was still left in that place too (it was repeated a few paragraphs later). It’s a minor thing, but it gave me a Déjà vu moment that pulled me out of the reading to go back and double check. The only other thing that bothered me was how often the word “profound” was used because it made the meaning feel a little flat and it felt slightly repetitive. I understand the need to express something that needs to feel important.. but that word just stuck out often to me. Honestly, I did eat this book up. I read it everyday this week and finished it moments ago.

Overall a fun read! ❤️

Thank you to the Author for the eARC copy of A Love Divided! 😊🖤

A Love Divided is absolutely fantastic! I loved every moment I spent in this world! This story follows the FMC Alydia who is born of both the light and dark magic and the two MMCs are Orion (of the light magic) and Kieron (of the dark magic). Alydia is the key to reuniting Orion’s Kingdom, Aelumia and Kieron’s Kingdom, Valthoryn back into the kingdom of Vesperia. There is beautiful world building with stunning descriptions. I definitely felt completely immersed in the world and I couldn’t stop reading. The romance is perfect. Alydia’s growth throughout this novel is inspiring as she goes from a happy go lucky girl and grows into a strong take no nonsense woman. The relationships she has with the two MMCs are so special and radically different from one another. A Love Divided is beautifully written and a million percent worth the read! 😊🖤

The descriptions and world building is very well written! You can truly envision everything the author is describing. There’s great character growth especially in the female main character. I love the two entirely different male main characters and how they compliment the FMC in their own ways. However, I am team Kieron from the get go. He pushed her to be better and was beside her through the hard times. Orion was too soft and he rubbed me the wrong way from the beginning. ANYWAYS, lol, I loved all the side quests that got you closer to the end game. It kept the story intriguing and made me want to keep turning the pages to see what adventure we were on next. The ending gives you a lot of information but also leaves you on a bit of a hanger wanting to know how it unfolds next. I can’t wait for my books so I can continue the story as Alydia writes her own destiny.

Wow this book was fantastic! I love the world building it pulls you in and you can really believe you are in Vesperia. The character development is spot on and you really get to know each character. The FMC Alydia is born of both light and dark magic and on her journey we watch her grow from a young girl into a rock soild woman who goes on a journey of finding herself for herself.
Orion the ruler of Aelumia the land of light magic and Kieron the ruler of Valthoryn the land of dark magic are our MMCs and they are very different in their own ways.
Alydia is the key to breaking the curse that was placed on Orion and Kieron and it is her decision how to break the curse.
I definitely didnt want this book to end and I need more asap.
Great writing.

This book is absolutely phenomenal in my opinion! ✨

Gabrielle’s worldbuilding is so beautifully described that it felt completely real. Her creativity shines through in the best way, making it easy to get lost in the story.

I’ll admit, it took me a few chapters to really get into it, and the third-person POV made me a little nervous at first since I usually prefer first person. But once it clicked—wow. I was HOOKED and completely swept away into this magical world.

If you’re looking for an emotional, magical romance fantasy with an unpredictable ending, I highly recommend this book! ❤️ (Also… I’m team Kieron all the way 😉)

OMG, A Love Divided by Gabrielle Lawrence completely swept me away! 💕 The world is so beautiful. I could picture every single detail like I was walking through it myself. The magic system is so creative and just makes sense in such a natural way. Honestly, I didn’t expect to love it this much.
And THAT ENDING?! Totally unpredictable. I was screaming. I didn’t see it coming at all and I loved being caught off guard.
Also… let’s be real: I am 100% Team Kieron. No debate. He owns my whole heart. 🖤
Highly recommend if you want a fantasy that’s magical, emotional, and full of twists!

A Love Divided was so good!! The descriptions made me feel like it was all real. It did take me a few chapters to get into it, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing!

The one issue I had was the pacing seemed a little bit off. It seemed like it moved really fast in some spots, and slow in others.

All in all, it was a good book, and if you like unpredictable endings, this is for you!
(Team Kieron btw🥰)

If you like descriptive world building, this is the book for you. If you want more character interactions and more understanding of motivations and feelings, unfortunately this is not it. I needed more from the characters. However I am invested in the characters and need to know what happens next. Not a bad read, just lacking what I need as a reader.

A tale as old as time, light and dark and I offcourse immediatly picked myself a side :D
The story went as I had predicted untill the very last end of the book where we get a little curveball

Would recommend :)

This book has great world building. The details are are there to describe everything going on. However I wish there was more character development. This is written third person so that is likely why the charters were built up as it’s not from their POV.
