She was Olympus's Queen. Its sacrifice. Its savior. Its destruction.
Long ago, Circe was Hermes' entire heart. The two women lived on the outskirts of Olympian society, content with a quiet life away from the spotlight. Then Circe caught the eye of Zeus…and was forced into a marriage that would take her freedom, her future, and in the end, her life. In the wake of the tragedy, gossip swirled about the woman Zeus married and (allegedly) murdered…but in time, everyone forgot about beautiful, tragic Circe.
Everyone but Hermes, who vowed on that day to bring Olympus to its knees.
Now, fifteen years later, a new Zeus rules the city, a new Hades protects his people, a new hope dawns…and Hermes has begun to think there may be things about Olympus worth saving. With Atalanta by her side—and slowly rebuilding her heart—Hermes may finally be ready to set aside her fury and seek the city's rebirth instead of its total annihilation. But there is a beautiful devil on Hermes' other a devil who rose, blood-soaked, from where Zeus left her for dead years ago. A devil who has waited all this time to have her revenge.
And no matter their past, no matter the desperate love they once shared, no matter the complicated triad forming between the three women, Circe will not rest until all of Olympus lays shattered at her feet…and the gods help anyone who gets in her way.
A scorchingly hot modern retelling of Hermes and Atalanta and Circe.

I received this ARC from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
I’m not ready for this series to be over. I fell in love with Neon Gods and the rest is history.
The plot picks up where Tender Cruelty leaves off, with the barriers down and chaos reigning. Some of the Thirteen have fled the upper city to Hades’s domain and protection and some have foolishly chosen to stay behind. Circe is ruthless in her plans to make the Thirteen pay, and there ARE casualties. We learn a lot about Hermes, Atalanta, and Circe during their POV’s, including some of their motivations. Hermes has an impressive amount of gumption and single-handedly sets a plan in motion to save Olympus. Surprising sacrifices, deaths, and relationships everywhere.
The characters we love and hate are sprinkled throughout (for the most part, some aren’t mentioned). We get an in depth view of Hermes, Atalanta, and Circe, plus we learn a lot about their relationships. Each POV brings us more info and development, and by the end we have a healthy relationship. The development of Circe is wonderful to watch, but all characters do some growing in this book.
The writing style is easy to read and absorb, with descriptions being very straightforward. My favorite thing about KR’s books is how damn inclusive they are. Any kind of relationship, race, or pronoun is included and respected.
My only question is what happened with Hephaestus? Not that it mattered in the grand scheme of things.
Hello, my friends! It is Wednesday, and let me just tell you, I literally squealed with glee when I got the notification yesterday from NetGalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca that I received a copy of Shattered Gods by Katee Robert to review with you all. I absolutely love this reimagining of the gods of Olympus and their relationships, and Shattered Gods is the final book in this epic series. I luckily was just about to finish another read, and I jumped into this story immediately.
This story starts off with Musewatch, a very short recap of books 1 through 9. If you have not read the earlier books, not only do you need to because they are excellent, but you will also be missing too much to fully grasp this book. The story starts right away, and I love that because you should be fully aware of who our characters are by now. This book focuses on Circe’s story, with a brief recap of how she was the wife of the late Zeus, who tried to kill her, but he did not succeed. Now she has a vendetta to enact on the Thirteen, never mind that these Thirteen are not their predecessors. The new Zeus is not as bad as his father, Hades protects the people of the Lower City, and Hermes is more than meets the eye.
Now, normally, I give you some details that happen throughout the first third of the book, but because this story jumps right in and it's the final story, here is my spoiler-free review.
Last we left this story, certain members of the Thirteen were taking refuge in the Lower City as the barrier that once protected Olympus had fallen. Circe is determined to kill the members of the Thirteen, their offspring, and anyone who has a claim to the positions in case of the legacy titles. She wants to give the power to the people of Olympus. Hermes and Atalanta want a new Olympus as well, only they want to do it without the bloodshed. Oh, and did I mention Circe and Hermes were lovers 15 years ago before Zeus forced her into marriage and tried to kill her?
Now Hermes has Atalanta watching her back, and she has feelings for her as well. Hermes also still has some feelings for Circe, the woman who got away. There are growing feelings between the trio, but can Circe give up her vendetta? Will Hermes decide bloodshed is the way to go and get on Circe’s team? And where will Atalanta fall into this trio? All of this is answered in this thrilling final story.
Katee Robert is an excellent writer, and this book is no exception. They have an excellent story with the reimagined lives of the gods of Olympus and their people. These books feature love in all its forms, the politics of the gods, and the games they play, all told in a thrilling story that spans all 10 novels. Whether you are diving into all ten books this summer or you are a longtime fan of the series, this book is a must read. Shattered Gods releases June 2nd from our friends at Sourcebooks Casablanca. Preorder it now, or be first in line at your local bookstore to pick up this book.
I cannot wait to grab the audiobook myself for this book and listen to it when it is ultimately released. Also, for all you Kindle Unlimited subscribers, books 1 through 8 are available in KU for free, so now is a great time to reread them if you do not own them already.
Until next time, my friends, I wish you nothing but 5 star reads! Happy Reading.
Thank you to NetGalley for giving me an eARC of Shattered Gods by Katee Robert!
I've been reading this series since the first book, Neon Gods, came out. Its one of two books that got me back into reading after losing my love for it. So to say this series changed a lot for me, was a huge understatement. I'm gonna be honest when I say, I was not ready for this series to end. I have loved every story of each God and Goddess, and even more loved the underlying story within the books. So, here's what I thought of the final installment of the Dark Olympus series.
From here on out, there will be spoilers throughout my review. You have been warned.
If anything Greek Mythology is what you enjoy reading, not only do I recommend this book, but the entire series. Every book will take you on a roller coaster of emotions. I cannot wait to see what Katee Robert has next (part of me hopes for a novella to see where each member of the thirteen went, and how their lives have changed).
Thank you to @netgalley and @sourcebookscasa for the opportunity to read this early.
I have been eagerly anticipating this book for ages, as soon as I knew we were ending on 10 and it had to do with Hermes, I WAS INVESTED.
Hermes is one of those characters that in the early stages of the series they are there, slightly, vaguely. You like them, they are intriguing and you want to know more but it sort of slips from your mind like smoke as each book progresses.
These last few books have really shown what a dynamic and well thought out character she is, even from the very beginning of the series, that Katee Robert was playing THE LONGEST DAMN GAME with all of us but it was satisfying to watch.
I don't want to get to spoilery for those that may not be aware of the players in this book but it's sapphic, it's hot, there is longing and yearning and pining and magnetism. But it all takes a backseat to the final downfall of Olympus. The over arching story that has taken us from Neon Gods to now.
I'm very happy with this ending, it was the conclusion I wanted, it was the conclusion that was needed. But ultimately I feel just ever so slightly let down. One death was highly telegraphed, Dionysus is essentially a MacGuffin in this story (and they are SO COMPELLING when we get them at all, I just hoped for more of them here). Overall, if you've been paying even the slightest attention to the ongoing saga, this ending was pretty predictable.
But that doesn't mean it wasn't enjoyable or worth reading. It was a good conclusion to a truly fabulous series.
What to expect: *Greek God retelling *Second Chance *Triad F/F/F relationship
Safety: Non-consensual drugging, public execution, on page violence, near drowning.
Ten books, five years, unmeasurable amounts of laughs, tears, shock and falling in love with fictional characters! The entire Dark Olympus series has been one of my absolute favorite series of books and I am so sad that it has come to a conclusion.
In the final book of the series we get the after effects of the fall of Olympus. We get POV’s from our three main characters as well as our favorites Hades, Persephone, and Zeus. I don’t want to give out any spoilers but please make sure to read the safety warnings, there are some dark moments in this story, including several on page deaths.
Katee Robert is such an amazing author, I recommend their books to library patrons as much as possible. If you are new to this author then you are in for a treat, start at the beginning and work your way through the series. You will not be disappointed!
Thank you to NetGalley, the author, and Sourcebooks Casablanca for the opportunity to read and review this title.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the eARC. My thoughts are my own.
**
It's hard to believe this series is now complete. Ten books, ten romance stories, and one hell of a political plot. The author has given us a ride of a lifetime, and seeing the conclusion brought out so many emotions.
Hermes, Circe, and Atalanta. Seeing them throughout the series was a fantastic way to bring us to the final book and their story. There's so much history, so much pain and trauma there, and it creates a juicy story. And with Olympus falling, the political intrigues are on point.
I feel both happy and sad about the ending. I guess it was always going to happen since this entire series has been such a big part of my reading journey and it feels like this series will leave a big gap into my life. But I am happy with the way everything ended and while I had my ideas on how this could end, this way feels appropriate. Did I hope for a little more in the epilogue, a glimpse of the Thirteen? Yes, but I hope we get a novella somewhere down the line that tells us where they all ended up. And Hermes getting her HEA was long overdue.
I will admit there was a small point in the book when I was screaming and debating whether I wanted to finish. Yes, this is about THAT scene. The rollercoaster of emotions was real, lol.
Okay, let me start off by saying I was VERY curious about where this book would go seeing as the series is years and years in the making. At this stage, the world is built and allows the reader to just enjoy the ride. That is, however, only for people that have kept up with the main characters throughout the other books. Though I shy away from "why choose" tropes, I've never had a problem getting through one of Katee's books. It was really interesting to see how Hermes, Circe and Atalanta come together to form a strong familial and relational bond. Though it was a little harder to Forsee how Atalanta and Circe would develop a deeper connection on their own, I was able to believe that they will find a way and have a great ending. There was a little more politics in this book compared to the others, but I think it was intertwined really well alongside the spice. The only thing that kind of threw me off was how believable it was that they could have such little trust in one another yet feel so addicted to one another. I guess their relationship dynamic can attribute to them having history throughout the earlier books. It made it a little less distracting. Overall, nicely done! I think it was a great finale to a long, beautiful series.

In the long-awaited final book of Robert’s Dark Olympus series, the bodies pile up as the world falls apart. Hermes (fka Hecate) has been a side character in the series for nine books, and it’s finally time for her to take center stage. The inequality of Olympus could never last, and Circe has come from Aeaea to take her revenge, in a particularly public and brutal fashion. Before Hecate was Hermes, she was in love with Circe, and now she faces the unthinkable: her city or her love? Meanwhile, at her side is Atalanta, who’s loved Hermes from afar and will follow her to Hell if needed. This isn’t the book for someone to start the series, this is a solid series finisher. Hard choices are made by all characters, and there are multiple on-page deaths that had me gasping. While not every previous main character makes a long appearance on-page, they’re all affected by what’s happening. At times, I felt like the romantic plotline was taking a backseat to the political and tactical machinations, but the series’ overall story has to be wrapped up in under 400 pages, so I understand the choices made. I’ll recommend this to folks who’ve read the series, but I’ll suggest new readers start at the beginning with Hades and Persephone.

I’m not gonna lie, I always get nervous when an author goes to end a series that has covered many years and a lot of books. But I never need to be nervous when Katee Robert is at the wheel. The conclusion of the series felt earned and solid, with a few satisfying twists.
I liked seeing how Hermes (Hecate) and Circe got back together and I really enjoyed seeing Hermes and Atalanta finally being able to act on their feelings for each other. While I might not understand how the Circe and Atalanta part of the triad will work outside of the drama of Olympus I liked that they all get to be in the relationship together and work through things. I would have loved to see an epilogue with Hades and Persephone, happily living with their children, along with Zeus and Hera living with theirs. So in that aspect, I feel a little cheated but maybe that epilogue or bonus scene will come later.
Overall, a really solid ending to a long-standing series. 3.5 stars rounded up to 4.
Thank you to NetGalley for an eARC in exchange for an honest review.
Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC of this book! I can’t believe this series has finally come to an end, I’ve been reading the series as each book releases and it’s been a long one in the making. I’ve been following Katee Robert’s instagram and seeing “book 10, Hermes & redacted” forever so finally reading the last book and getting the last romance story is awesome.
What I loved about this book the most is the political intrigue and the revolution to overthrow the reigning government, with romance on the side. I love that Hermes and Circe both have villain origin stories and how their lives went completely different ways, but they had a second chance at love and Atalanta fits right in.
I normally don’t like different POVs but Katee is the only author that can do it right, where the POVs actually feel like different characters. I liked reading the POVs from new characters and some of my old favorites, like Hades and Persephone.
Overall, great conclusion to the series.

Roberts did not disappoint in the finale of the Dark Olympus series. This book has a lot more politics than the previous books, because we finally hear Circe's side of the story. The drama of the chaos she ignites made it hard to put the book down. My only issue was the relationship and how it just felt shallow. There was so little trust between them but they continued to wind up in bed together. I recognize the history they all had together but that did not bring me any warm and fuzzies for what they were starting together. I loved reading this and absolutely love this series. This one just had the romance fall a little short for me. I will always read books by this author and love this genre. Excited for more to come for new series.
So I have read every book in this series and was really excited for this last book to kind of see how it all played out. I have to say I was a little disappointed. All the other books have been spicy and fast paced and allowed you to still really connect with the characters and the interconnection between all of the books. This one was really slow like it took me way longer than it should’ve to finish it, and it was not very spicy at all. So if that’s what you’re going into the book looking for there’s not a ton of that to satisfy the reader. It is nice to see Hecate/Hermes finally finding some peace, but ultimately in all just feel a little flat for me.
At last, after 9 books, the conclusion to the Dark Olympus series. And the wrap worked. Here we have Hermes story and her raison d'être. As usual, the politics, both in who holds power, as well as interpersonal relations, comes into play. Because how can you create a new world, when the usurpers also use violence to overthrow the current government? And, will Hermes get her happily ever after and how when it's Circe v. Atalanta who vie for her love?
I do wish there was a more complete epilogue with the 13.
I received an arc from the publisher but all opinions are my own.
Shattered Gods is the final book in the 10-book Dark Olympus series, and it wraps everything up beautifully. This installment is definitely more plot-heavy, but the payoff is incredibly satisfying. I loved getting to spend more time with Hermes, Circe, and Atalanta and seeing how their relationships developed and deepened.
It’s an emotional and exciting conclusion that really feels earned after such a long journey. I’m so glad I picked up this series and got to experience the stories of all these couples, it was absolutely worth it.
I loved this entire series. I absolutely had favorite moments with favorite couples, but each book just kept being better than the last. I enjoyed the romance of this final chapter. I felt it was well deserved for the characters, and I never knew how it would all wrap up.
This book does have a larger focus on wrapping up the series and overarching Circe plot, but I thought it ended very well. There are shocking moments, you never know where the story will take you next. I cried, I laughed, I couldn't put it down.
I've loved Dark Olympus, although I'll admit I was underwhelmed by most of the relationships in the second half of the series. I kept reading the later books mainly for the overarching Circe plot, and this book absolutely delivered on that front. I'm glad everyone got their HEA, but I don't particularly care about the romance beyond that point — and I really wish I did. 3.5 stars rounded up to 4
While this took me a bit to get into, and (moreso than previous books) I felt like maybe I should have reread all the rest of them before diving into this, by the end I was having an absolutely fantastic time. I really liked how the overarching story of this series concluded, and I LOVED the happily-ever-after these three women found.
This was a good conclusion to the series and wrapped up a lot of questions that were floating around at the end of last book. I do think the romance could have been fleshed out a bit more parts of it felt rushed
This was a really satisfying conclusion to the TEN BOOK LONG SERIES!
I knew who was in the FFF relationship and I was SO curious if Robert would be able to pull it off, and I think that she did! I liked that there was that sort of second chance aspect, attraction rooted deepening in emotions and the past, and then another that was a purely physical attraction, and how that all worked itself out.
And, I will admit, I didn't love Circe when this all started, or even at the beginning of this book, but Robert made me like her, dammit.
Also, I love that the series ended with an FFF relationship. There have been so many different pairings and more, throughout the series, and I know that readers got really weird around book 8, which was MM, so this almost feels like a fuck you to those readers. Like, oh yeah? you want me to write more MM? fuck you, here's FFF.
Really enjoyed this series and so curious to see what Robert comes out with next!
