In this interactive book, Elmo just can't decide who should receive his big beautiful valentine! Toddlers will enjoy playing Cupid as they pass Elmo's valentine from one Sesame Street friend to another by moving it from pocket to pocket throughout this charming book.
I like Elmo. He is cuter than hell, adorable as all get-up and he is a surprisingly hip and happening pint-sized bastard, a true player, a damn good dancer with a quick wit and some vocal chops.
But I don't care for this book much. Elmo runs around trying to figure out who gave him a Valentine. He asks all his politically correct little monster friends and the longest of longtime companions, Burt and Ernie, whether they gave it to him. Not even that little minx and magic peddler, Abby Cadaby cops to it. No. In the end we find out Elmo's mommy gave it to her special little man. Elmo is a mommy's boy. Brendan is a mommy's boy.
Elmo has weird eye balls. they are really big, like small moons. They have no lids. You think they would explode in the sun or at least the furry little bastard would go blind. Stay out of the sun, Elmo!
The heart was hard to place in the hands of the various monsters and, less than a week later, has been officially lost. While it is a "board book" it is not a book for a one year old. That's for sure.
For me, I didn't care much for this book, but the little one loves it for it's tactile quality and the fact that two of her 'toys' are in the book and she loves to point them out.
