Here we go - let's get the gloves off and go flesh to flesh. I want to give you something. Follow this link to get a FREE book from me: http://smarturl.it/GRFreeBook

I love writing and I'm a writer of love in all its forms - fiction, poetry, blogging. Think of me as a busker in a subway. I love music, I love to perform and you guys are kind enough to give me money to allow me to do it. My bank manager likes that too, but he doesn't use my subway.

I'm passionate about sharing my work with readers. I understand though, as I'm not a famous New York Times Bestseller (yet!), you might be nervous about taking a chance on me. That's why I made the offer at the top of this section. If you enjoy the ride, I hope you'll just keep rolling on and try some more.

As you'll see from my book list here on Goodreads, I write in a range of genres: romance-suspense novels, gritty short stories and more recently, a series of illustrated, interactive modern fairy tales for children (age 6-12). Wherever possible my books are available in digital, paperback and audio book formats.

I often have giveaways of paperbacks, audio books, e-books and sometimes rather valuable electronic gadgets related to reading (e.g. Kindles and other e-readers). Keep an eye out on my blog and you might get more free stuff!

I still had spots when I started writing and have won numerous local, national and international prizes for poetry and short stories in the many years that have passed.

I now live a double life, sharing my time between a tiny rural town in southwest France and within commuting distance of London in the UK.

Isabella is a little girl whose parents struggle to make the ends meet. Her biggest dream is to have a pink bicycle but her parents can’t afford it. One day she meets Ferret Frankie who makes her dream come true. Of course nobody believes in Ferret Frankie, so when he comes to rescue Isabelle’s father one day, he is a big surprise.

A cute story about believing and helping each other, and never losing hope. It was Sophie’s favourite story and she heard me reading very carefully. There were some funny moments with the Ferret in this book and those she enjoyed mostly. What bothered me a little in this story is its message: that money is the way to be happy and solve all the problems but well, so it is in life too, and in the end it made a sweet, optimistic story with a „and they lived long and happily” happy end.

Verdict for all the three Once Upon a NOW stories: they are for bigger children, and my Sophie didn’t enjoy the pictures so much, they were much too realistic and well, I have the same opinion. The QR codes in all the books (and especially this bit at the end for the parents not as much technical as their children – thank you, Emma!) are a great idea, the same as the additional link here or there that direct you to the videos. In short, all three stories were tales with moral and message that goodness always triumphs but set in a current, present world, with characters that may easily appeal to children. Unfortunately, reading on kindle to a 3 – year – old is not the best idea, as it doesn’t keep her attention as much as the physical copy of a book that she can hold herself in her hands. All the books seemed to me a little abrupt, jumping from one conclusion to the other and I personally think that the children deserve a good, old precise explanation, they can’t read between the lines. I would recommend those book to children older than 6 years.

This was my favourite out of the 3 books. A lovely story about friendship and helping others. Isabella has always wanted a pink bicycle, but her family could not afford it. One day Isabella meets a ferret called Frankie who, in exchange for friendship, grants Issabella's wish of a new bicycle. But when an accident occurs Isabella asks for Frankie's help even when nobody believes her story about a talking Ferret!

Other than making my son want a ferret even more than he already does (! - yes this is true - why oh why?!) I again loved the interactive QR codes and you tube links on each chapter we could access extra content and pictures. It made this book perfect for a bedtime read and for sharing and discussing with my son.

Ellie’s review:

Isabella lives with her mum and dad. She really wants a pink bicycle but her parents can’t afford one. One day, Isabella is granted a wish by a Ferret godfather, called Frankie. I laughed out loud when the ferret godfather introduced himself because it was quite funny. This book was short but I enjoyed it, especially as it had such a happy ending. I would recommend it to young children aged 7-9.

Eden’s review:

Frankie Ferret appeared in some sawdust he was Isabella’s Ferret Godfather and made her wish come true. I liked Frankie Ferret because he was kind and magical and he saved Isabella’s Dad. I liked this story because in the end Isabella’s family lived happily and her Dad built a new house for them. My friends would enjoy this book too. It was really good seeing Frankie Ferret on the videos too!

Isabella's Pink Bicycle: - an illustrated, interactive, magical bedtime story chapter book adventure for Kids (Once upon a NOW 2)
Story of Isabella and how she grows up in a poor section and has always dreamed of having a pink bike.
While helping with chores she meets up with a ferret godfather-not a fairy godmother and he wants to help her get what she wants.
Some sketches in the book and QR codes to click on for pictures. One day the mine caves in and her father is trapped. She comes up with an idea
but her mother doens't really believe her at all. Something magical happens...

I received this book free through Goodreads first reads. The story had a great plot, but doesn't quite draw the reader's interest. The story is short enough to read in one or two sittings, but it took several days to read with my daughter because she want excited enough about finding out what happens next.

A very modern version of a poor girl having her dreams granted by a magical being. I enjoyed the technology components.
The reason for not giving thus 5 stars was the story line was not consistent. For example, it says Isabella had to make dinner since her mom worked yet her mom is making dinner.

Kindle Unlimited, so thankfully will never have to see again. Unbelievable even for a 'fairy tale' type story, not for children because not childlike just childish, in horrible bullying basically okay, guy gets rich and whole town profits, storyline doesn't have to make sense even in the limited framework it had for this type of story, being tech savvy grandkids and myself both found the links pretty much useless with either option, does NOT make book 'interactive' either, look term up in dictionary, and all found the 'writing' to be huge waste of time. As any tech would say GIGO {garbage in garbage out}. Granddaughter's thoughts were ''Huh?" and my grandson's was "Yuck!" Mine not printable under amazon TOS.

Once upon a NOW (3 Book Series)
Alf The Workshop Dog: An illustrated, interactive, magical bedtime story chapter book adventure for kids (Once upon a NOW 1)
Isabella's Pink Bicycle: An illustrated, interactive, magical bedtime story chapter book adventure for kids (Once upon a NOW 2)
Kool Kid Kruncha and The High Trapeze: An illustrated, interactive, magical bedtime story chapter book adventure for kids (Once upon a NOW 3)

has other books, definitely not for children, and definitely also not readable even by adults
