Fated With a Fertility Demon

Rate this book
In search of eternal love like my parents, I ran away to a new city.
With my new job, I didn't expect to run into a giant violet man there.

A giant violet man who just so happens to be a fertility demon.
According to him, I’m his fated mate. If I accept, I will become an omega.

My world turned upside down one morning when the sexy new cashier at my favorite bakery was able to see through my glamour.

My instincts were going haywire; mine.

In Fated with a Fertility Demon, you’ll join Blair in a cozy, small town as she finds true love in this fast-paced, high-heat, paranormal demon pregnancy romance.

The heroine of our story has severe ADHD, mixed with anxiety and grief. The depiction of her and her struggles are very similar to some of those who do have ADHD. Please keep an open mind when it seems as if she’s too much, she was written based off real struggles, thoughts, and feelings.

“Mated with a Fertility Demon” is the story of Blair and Asmodeus.

It’s actually a very sweet romance with a heroine who is getting over a breakup, meets the sexy demonic hero and ends up getting bred. It goes through stages of their courtship, romance, pregnancies and forever happy ending.

First of all: I came here for the smut and for some very specific tropes that I heard were here. Specifically:

- Fated Mates (I am a sucker for these!)
- Breeding
- Cervical penetration (don’t judge 👀)
- Knotting & heats
- MMC knows FMC is pregnant before she does (LOVE this one)
- Pregnancy throughout most of the book
- Birth scene (which also includes orgasms 👀)
- Cock warming
- Imaginative use of a tail
- Special 💦

On these counts, the book definitely delivered and is the only reason I’m rating this 2 stars instead of 1.

This being the author’s debut book, I want to be sensitive to there being a learning curve. However, there were multiple points that definitely brought this down for me, and I almost DNF’d multiple times before I ever got to the smut:

- The writing is very “Wattpad” in both style and editing
- The sheer amount of grammar and spelling issues in this book
- Even though I mentioned spelling/grammar isssues already, I need a line dedicated to incorrect use of tenses. The author jumped randomly from past to present tense throughout the entire book and it drove me crazy
- There was a lot of “telling” not “showing” in the text. Or explanations that were skipped over (like the FMC suddenly having purple hair and eyes?)
- The style used to share text messages was awkward and hard to read. And the content of the text messages was often also awkward and unnatural

I came for the smut and I’m glad I stuck it out as that definitely delivered…so if you’re here primarily for the spice, you could honestly skim much of the rest, IMO.

Overall, I would recommend only for readers who are trope-first and writing-style-second. I’m hopeful the author improves with future books, because the ideas are there—even if the execution still needs to be improved.

This book is currently scheduled for August 31st 2025! This is an ARC review of the pre-published version, and contains my honest opinions. If the book gets updated, I will also update my review <3

Synopsis:

Blair, our FMC, moves cities and gets a new job at a bakery. There, our MMC Asmodeus, meets his fated mate Blair when getting coffee. Blair quickly learns that Asmodeus is really a fertility demon, and also an alpha.

Thoughts:

First off, I want to highlight that the cover is absolutely gorgeous, and the fact that it was hand-painted by the author I find to be really cool!

The story does start out on the slower side, before the FMC has even moved cities. Some moments (like the FMC immediately getting a bakery job without sharing details about her availability, work background, or even name) required a bit of suspension of disbelief. I personally struggled to connect with the romance at times since the attraction between the two main characters felt very instant, with little on-page build-up before things got physical. I felt like the FMC just… didn’t acknowledge the whole MMC being a demon thing realistically at all, and I’d like to see that scene more fleshed out. However, I did really enjoy the use of the tail in the spicy scenes! I absolutely adore the “little one” nickname for our FMC, and found it fitting for the demon ABO-adjacent relationship.
I think the concept is interesting and has good potential. I also appreciated the bonus details the author included, like floor plans and a house reference image, which added a unique touch to the book. Neurodivergent FMC is such a rare find, I’m glad the author made that decision. Fair warning for readers: chapters 13–27 lean very heavily toward spice (around 95% heat, 5% plot), which may be a plus for some readers and less so for others depending on personal preference. Some lines came across a little cheesy to me (“If I can’t have you, no one can. Die”) and a few sections leaned more toward telling rather than showing. Also personally hearing “lady boner” was an ick for me, sorry!
After ~ chapter 25 I had to start skim reading because I personally just couldn’t connect to the main characters; I needed something to get me invested in them and it just wasn’t there. I believe that the book needs additional editing and feedback from beta readers before being released, so for the moment I am withholding any star rating. I really hope the author gives it some more care before releasing, I would love to come back and give it a higher review! I still think everyone should give this book a try, especially if you don’t mind insta-lust!

I was confused…

This book has several typos and a whole texting conversation that makes no sense. I think it was supposed to be later in the book as it discuss Hell and him being a demon before he ever tells her. I get that the author was trying to piece the story together but there are random details like her violet eyelashes that aren’t explained just randomly dropped and feel as though it is to further the story. I know someone put their heart and soul into this and some may enjoy it but overall I skipped several pages as the story dragged and the sex felt….flat. More of a description of what they were doing with no emotions or way too many, it didn’t allow you to feel any fire. I think this author has real potential and needs to just really re-read and over sell. The heroine was too much. I don’t post this to be mean merely as a feedback for future endeavors. I look forward to trying your next book.

Out of the nearly 400 books Ive read this year this is definitely in the top.
I'm talking spice and plot. It's a story that's some girth to it. I'm talking nearly 400 pages. The way the pov is different than what I'm used to but I adapted pretty quickly. A six ft eight fertility demon walks into the FMC Bakery and she's straight thru the glamor. I'm talking instant connection. The relationship and spice developed extremely fast and mercifully the plot was right along there with it. They get to a point where yOu think the book should end but there's just so much left. However there's hints here and there that contain a story line. It's not just straight smut the whole book. You get character development. Than there's actual world building within the book and providing enough detail. You would be surprised how many stories where bathing or changing clothes wasn't even mentioned in 200 pages (if it was it was more of an after thought) but let's not get me started on that. To summarize this rec review you get spice 🌶️x5 story development and guaranteed HEA many times over. I just loved being able to read about creating their family and even after. Deft recommend y'all check this out.

ok I don't want to be mean, but this read like a fanfiction/ Wattpad story. The smut was ok in some places but the story as a whole was choppy and dragged a lot in places. The world building wasn't there at all so the whole book has this off tone. I also would have edited out the whole first part with the proposal from the previous BF. It really made the FL look like an uncaring b*tch who didn't know what she wanted. like it took a proposal after years of dating him and she decides "eh, I like you but I'm not in love with you, sorry I have ADHD". and then he still cares for and supports her like a sick puppy after she dumps him. lol like what?

then we have the relationship with ML. while I like fantasy elements, this just came off as.... underdeveloped. sure there are descriptions, but it's really "tell not show" so it feels like you're having the whole story shoved down your throat instead of being there and being immersed and experiencing it.

I almost DNF'd a few times and personally wouldn't recommend it. if you've read a lot of high level monster romance, this probably won't appeal to you.

***Please note that this review is mainly for my benefit as it is more of a summary of the book and may contain spoilers.***

“Does my mate like the way I breach her? My seed going straight where it belongs? You’re mine, and everyone is going to know it after I come inside you. You’re going to be filled with so much of me, it will be leaking out for days. You’re going to be stuffed full with me daily if I have my way with you,” a deep and dark voice booms from within me.

Not what i was expecting

Ive seen this book recommend a few times and that mixed with the content warnings i was excited and looking forward to reading it.

But. God it was such a bore, its a bakery meetcute x therapist office. With all the positive affirming of feelings, it just felt so forced.
the trigger warning makes it out to be a more dark romamce which it is far from.

Confusing points
•How did she not see the tail and horns to start with if she can see past the glimour

•she was ok with mythical creatures but still disbeleved he was a demon.

•what is a fertility demon anyway.

•why did she think her purple hair was normal.

but if it is spice you are after this certainly has it. And the epilogues are pretty great.

im struggly with actually finishing this book.

Good read

I definitely enjoyed this story. I loved the communication between Blair and AZ. If there was a problem that Blair was having she was able to talk it out with AZ and grow their relationship.
