When a psychic summerfest comes to Salem, the headline attraction features a demonologist from Tennyson Grimm’s past who claims he can cast evil spirits out of possessed people and cursed objects. Ten and the West Side Magick psychics are excited for the start of the Paranormal Phantasmagoria convention and the influx of new customers it will bring to town, but Ten knows there’s trouble brewing on the horizon.
Just as the convention is about to begin, Detective Ronan O’Mara and the cold case team are warned that members of a highly controversial Christian megachurch, King of Deliverance, which doubles as homophobic hate group, are coming to Salem not only to protest against people with paranormal abilities, but the city’s large community of LGBTQIA+ families.
Adding more trouble into the mix is the late addition of Agatha Louise, a famously possessed doll with a hefty body count under her belt. When the leader of the megachurch challenges the doll to do her worst, chaos ensues, and bodies hit the floor. The question is, are Ten and Ronan among the doll’s latest victims?
Sick of the slogging rat-race of her 9-5 job, Pandora Pine put pen to paper (literally!) to make her ambition of becoming a romance novelist a reality. She cut her teeth in the dog-eat-dog world of fanfiction, still dreaming of the day when she would be a published author. She lives in Massachusetts with her blabbermouth muse who’ s a fan of middle of the night plot twists.
In her spare time, Pandora fancies herself an amateur nature photographer. She enjoys mucking around in swamps, hiking through the woods and crawling around on her hands and knees in her backyard seeking out the perfect shot. Pandora is a fan of roadside seafood shacks and always thinks Mexican food is a good idea at the time.
Some of Pandora’s favorite things are chocolate, writing longhand with purple pens and handsome men falling in love with each other.
Don't miss Pandora’s seductive new novel coming soon to an e-reader near you.
Another fun adventure for Ten, Ronan and the gang although Everly is slowing stealing their thunder. This book had an extra creepy vibe for me as I really can’t stand hypocritical con men pastors and people who should know better being whipped up into a frenzy by their staged shows and there’s nothing creepier than possessed demon dolls and this story had both.
I would have given it five stars if Barrymore and Shackleton had got what they deserved😂
This was a wonderful story. The beginning with a young Ten stuck in a broiling hot tent with his parents who came to see King of Deliverance preacher and a demonologist who supposedly cast out a demon from a gay man and scared Ten but he knew it was staged. Present day saw them eagerly waiting for the convention of wizards, witches, and psychics until Ten found out that the King of Deliverance would be there to cause trouble and the same demonologist from before would be there and the spookiest of all was the demon doll Agatha Louise who had caused the deaths of 7 people. Ten and Ronan were concerned about bringing Everly there but of course they would protect her and of course she wanted to befriend the doll. That part was poignant and you loved Everly even more when you found that the doll was hurting by the demon inside. And then the preacher and demonologist were attacked by her and there was a riot. I loved how the doll was saved and the "church" decided not to settle in Salem. I love spending time with the families and watching Everly growing her powers is fascinating. Looking forward to the next story.
Ten and Ronan are back this time with an annual convention coming to town. The guys are on high alert as there is supposed to be a demonstration by the King of Deliverance church an organization that Ten met in his teens. There is also an appearance at the convention by a haunted doll, Agatha Louise who the team met when they were down in Florida. The gang was all in this one with Everley taking a leading part.
Another intriguing investigation draws in our favourite West Side detectives and psychic family as double trouble comes to Salem. All the usual family unity, love and support we expect from the gang is front and centre as this multifaceted case puts them in the path of threats from both old and new. Thirty-seven books in for Ronan and Tennyson and I still love these characters!
Dead Evil is yet another brilliant book from Pandora Pine. I swear her books just keep getting better and better. As nearly always, Dead Evil is even a little poignant😪😪 I can't wait for Pandora's next book!
I haven’t liked the last ten or so books in this series. Thos was better with a plot, ghosts and a bit of family time. Still very short but hopefully the author is going to be back to her beat soon.
Short, and fun. Though I really longed for Everly to tell the “Pastors” that they weren’t welcome in Salem That they had no power, but the Salem crew did and if they did did come back, they would know what real power felt like. I hope we see Poppy again.
I have to agree with one of the reviewers. I loved this book. I could not put it down until I finished and I cannot wait for the next one. Strongly recommend this book.
