Ambrosia Winters and her father are in trouble, BIG trouble. If Ambrosia doesn’t consent to marry her father’s crooked business partner, Reginald Van Cleet, he’ll slap false charges on her father, and bring him to complete ruin if not worse. To escape the madman, Cecil Winters will do anything to save his daughter from suffering such a horrible fate. But what?
Garrett Vander wasn’t expecting a mail-order bride, but that’s exactly what he got. Worse, no one in town even knew who sent for her! But who was he to argue? She was beautiful, kind, but also brought something with her no one expected. Her father! Now why would she do that? There was more to his mail-order bride than she let on, and Garrett was determined to find out what. Or he wasn’t about to marry her.
Kit Morgan, aka Geralyn Beauchamp, has been writing for fun all of her life. When writing as Geralyn Beauchamp, her books are epic, adventurous, romantic fantasy at its best. When writing as Kit Morgan they are whimsical, fun, inspirational sweet and clean stories that depict a strong sense of family and community. 'His Prairie Princess' is the first of the Prairie Brides books and the first in the series of a long line of stories about Clear Creek, Oregon. One of the wackiest little towns in the old west! Get to know the townsfolk in Clear Creek and come sit a spell!
NOTE: Hi folks, it has come to my attention there is an erotica book floating around out there written under the name Kit Morgan. IT IS NOT MY BOOK! I do not, and never will, write in that genre.
I just cannot get enough of this series! Well, truthfully any book by Kit Morgan and especially an audible book with Michael Rahhal as the narrator!! We find ourselves back in Indepence and this time with Garrett and Ami (Ambrosia!) Ambrosia and her father are on the run. He was threatened by his business party that he would ruin him unless Ami became his wife. Well, that just was not going to happen! So they go to the mail order bride agency (yes the same one as all of this series) and are given Garrett's name in Independence. When they show up, of course Garrett has no idea who put his name in! That stays a mystery and still is, but I have my suspicions. Garrett has finished college and is working on being a lawyer and taking the place of the local one that will be retiring. His dad is the mayor and his mom, well she is priceless can I say. Follow the ups and downs of this amazing story and the awesome narration and sit back and just sigh.
I have enjoyed several books in this series of Holiday Mail Order Brides and love all the interesting residents of Independence, Oregon. I've read many mail order bride books but especially enjoyed the twist this story included of the unsuspecting groom. Somebody thinks Garrett needs a wife and Ammy is led to believe he sent for her. This marriage is what she needs to escape an unhappy future and dangerous situation involving her father's former unscrupulous business partner. The couple gets to know each other under the watchful eye of her father and despite some deception and turmoil, they find true love by the end of the book. This was a well written clean story sprinkled with humorous characters and of course romance. Well done!
This was a short story with wonderful ingredients at the right proportions. Witty dialogues, humorous scenes, romantic Christmas mood, misunderstandings that kept the suspense high, and a great chemistry between hero and heroine. Secondary characters are delightfully depicted, especially Betsy, the maid. There were at least three scenes where I was expecting the hero to discover the real reason behind heroine’s rush and see what he is going to do. Or at least the infamous villain to show up and the hero to take care of him as a real knight. It’s like the author didn’t respect her first idea of a plot and decided to go safely with a cliché. The story never did reveal who had sent for the mail order bride or what happened with Reginald Van Cleet. After all the focus on his coming to find them, he’s just dropped. It would have been a five star if it wasn't for that.
This story had a silly premise. Garrett received Ambrosia "Ammy" as a MOB (& her dad), when he never requested a MOB, nor did his parents, nor did anyone in this small town own up to this. Ammy's wealthy Bostonian Dad did not consult an attorney when blackmailed & framed by a business partner. He did not seek an attorney en route or upon arrival in Oregon. Successful businessman Dad, left his common sense in Boston? BTW, Garrett just graduated from law school!
Ammy was beautiful & sweet but not much else. Garrett seemed colorless and too changeable. Garrett's Dad had a booming voice & OTT manner, so would have been welcomed as an amateur thespian?
I found this book on sale via Freebooksy First of all, Ambrosia cries a lot. Second, there are too many problems for such a short book. Miss Brubauk is an evil human being and hope to never encounter her again, ever. She's also part of the many problems occurring (and in other previous books too). They are always eating and it made me feel hungry the whole time. The cutest parts were with Cecil and Betsy but we didn't get either HFN or HEA. We still don't know who sent Ambrosia as a MOB to Garrett.
I am addicted to mail order bride books and this one is an excellent example. Ms. Morgan is an expert at pulling you in and keeping your interest from the very first pge through the last. Anyone who enjoys a good clean romance that's well written, with endearing characters and interesting story lines should read this, and the other books in this series.
Another comedy of errors before the wedding vows. I am reading the entire series at once. However, I do think it would be better to read one or two at a time. A break would make the stories fresher, for lack of a better word. I do find myself laughing out loud at some of the “mishaps”. Moral of these books: say what you mean, and mean what you say. NEVER assume that another person must know how you feel or what you want. That leds to a comedy of errors.
Running from trouble, Ammy and her father ended up in Independence, OR. Ammy was a mail order bride. Her groom wasn't expecting her at all, but quickly saw that he needed to get to know her before outright rejecting her. In a twist, it looks like Ammy's father might have a crush on the Vander's maid, Betsy. A fast paced story that keeps you guessing until the end if they will get married and what will happen with Ammy's father?
This is the story of Garrett and Ambrosia/Ammy. Ammy and her father are trying to get away from a business deal gone wrong and fled to Independence so she could marry and be unable to marry the former business partner. The story moves along and I am pretty sure Justin Smythe will be in the next story.
What a sweet! I thought it was a good book and different from most similar stories. The groom doesn't know the bride as been ordered. He is in no rush to get married. So the story is about the time between the bride arriving and the end of the book. I thought it was a good story and I enjoyed it.
The Holiday Mail Order Bride is a delightful romance. A father on the run from a conniving business partner hoping to save his daughter from being forced to marry the partner suggests for her to be a mail order bride. And the adventure begins. Small town characters add a fun dimension. Looking forward to reading more from this author.
A short romance between a Mail Order Bride and her intended leads to a blossoming relationship. The three meddling ladies didn’t do it so who sent for the mail order bride?? This has been a great series so far so on to the next one.
What bride brings her father with her cross country? Well, thankfully Ammy does, so that we get an extra unusual and unexpected romance within this retelling of a man who does not request a mail order bride. At least his mother didn't make the request this time. But who did?
This review is for the rest of the series. I just don't have time to do individual reviews. So if you are looking for a good, clean, enjoyable romance give this series a shot. The stories are heartwarming and fun to read. I was able to get through them pretty fast and they were all enjoyable. I would definitely love to read more.
Kit and her Holiday Mail Order Brides series is such a good read. Garrett and Ammy are good together, but I enjoyed reading about her father and Betsy just as much. So two stories for the price of one!
I came across this series on Amazon one night at work and it introduced me to the whole genre of mail order bride/western historical romance that I did not know existed before. From that time on I've never read a book by Kit Morgan that I haven't enjoyed.
If Mercy, Maude, and Martha are a trio of fairy godmothers, then Mercy's sister, Eunice is the wicked witch of the West's tutor in malevolence. That woman is a nasty piece of work. Oh, I so love ie then the villain or villainess gets their comeuppance.
