The third and final audiobook in the Red Sons Of Ares series is here!
The last two entries into the Sons of Ares had Fitchner on his heels. In the first, he was driven by love and desperation to save his wife Brynn before her execution at the hands of the Board of Quality Control. Then, in book two, Fitchner went head to head with both of his early allies — Arturius and Quicksilver. His wrath left Arturius dead and set back Quicksilver’s dream of expanding exploration and human habitation to other stars. In Forbidden Song, Ares may not always be in control. But he has a plan — and it’s a doozy.
FORBIDDEN SONG is one part Ocean’s 11, one part Les Miserables, and it sets the fuse for the Rising that Darrow will inherit. Adapted from the graphic novel and produced with a full cast of actors, immersive sound effects and cinematic music. Also available as a graphic novel from Dynamite Comics.
Performed by Richard Rohan, Holly Adams, Todd Scofield, Andy Brownstein, Ian Russell, Peter Stanley, David Jourdan, Lise Bruneau, Nick DePinto, Stephanie Németh-Parker, Jenna Sharpe, Michael Glenn, Peter Holdway, Nanette Savard, Danny Gavigan, Carolyn Kashner, Jessica Lauren Ball, Christopher Williams, Ian Putnam, Hannah Curtis, Matthew Schleigh, Christopher Davenport, Zeke Alton and Alyssa Keegan.
Hello. I'm Pierce Brown, the author of the Red Rising Saga, a NYT #1 bestseller. I figured I'd write you myself than have corporate copy pasted below my totally natural author photo.
In my books you'll find stories of men and women finding their inner strength when all seems lost. You'll also find me exploring themes of love, violence, hope, and power--what it means, why people seek it, and how they hold onto it.
He is my only thought always. I do like this series, I wish it had been full novels though, I feel like there is so much to explore and get into and it was all very fast and less impactful. Still fun! I'm not sure if I like the parallels between Fitchner and Darrow or not when it comes to their wives, b u t I will just think about tiny Sevro
Sons of Ares Vol. 3: Forbidden Song was a strong finish to the trilogy. I really enjoyed this one—especially seeing more of Fitchner’s development and what shaped him into the man behind the mask. A satisfying and emotional end to the origin story of Ares.
This is my favorite volume and the dramatized adaptation was excellent.
Once again, great voice acting and sound effects. I love how the audio performance expands on some of the dialogue and descriptions.
And the great quotes from the graphic novel sounded great on audio: Quicksilver to Ares - "If he turns his ill gaze on you...well..in your blood, he will glean my reflection."
Nero to Fitchner - "What good is victory if you can't control the story?" (This one is chillingly true).
A little disappointed that there wasnt more fighting and would have liked to have more about how Ares took more things down but overall was fab and i loved seeing the Nero stuff. Meeting Claudius and Karnas back in the day was great but still not enough about why Eo was so taken by the Ares symbol.
A great trilogy - I've truly enjoyed going back to the world of Red Rising as I anticipate the release of Red God. This is a good prequel and the dramatized adaptation was a joy to hear
Fitchner au Barca planted the seeds of rebellion, igniting a spark that would grow into a full-scale war against the oppressive Society. His journey is as tragic as it is heroic, and the Graphic Audio adaptation brings it to life with stunning, heartfelt performances that make every moment unforgettable.
