This was a lot of fun. So many times, I’ve seen authors choose the safe route with monster, cryptid, and alien-based eroticas. Like all that build up and all those interesting plot points, only to see very pedestrian sexual encounters. Bunmer, dudes. But some writers crack that mold and make something truly unique, exploring what fun it can be to have two different species bump uglies. And here, Ruby Dixon did just that. An enjoyable premise, dynamic characters, lots of sensual build up, distinct and alluring sex, playful banter, all while balancing everything just right, keeping the overarching plot intact. And, back to the sex, it wasn’t overly relied upon or graphic. This is the type of story that could appeal to fans of several genres, from science fiction to romance and horror. Again, not many authors can accomplish that feat. This was my first read from Ruby Dixon, but Peter Topside is game for more.
