I was so happy to get the arc for this book!
It was a long one, and after finishing it I can finally see that this book is truly about healing and learning how to love yourself, even when it feels impossible.
Vincent and Nova are such messy characters. But thats exactly what makes them human.
They’ve both been through so much, but their character development is so wholesome at the end. Especially Vincent, there were times I just wanted to give him the biggest hug😭
The only reason this wasn’t more than a 4⭐️ is that by the end there were some scenes that felt a bit repetitive.
And for a minute there I was stressing out that the whole thing between Vincent, Nova and Steven is gonna be a disaster. Luckily it turned out good.
I really enjoyed the writing especially the banter and tension between them. I could feel the emotion and yearning for each other through the pages.
But what really shone in this book is the friendship and found family. I loved getting to know each and every one of the friends, and can’t wait to know their whole story!
Highly recommended! Such an amazing debut novel. Full of emotion and love💗

[arc] this is the perfect way to debut your story. I am genuinely proud.
This characters are well written and have the biggest personalities ever, i LOVE the way they talk and express their passions. AND THE FOUND FAMILY!!! they have the best relationships ever.
The plot was so good, and even though i don’t have the best relationship with the past present trope, i really enjoyed this and felt like it actually added something to the story.
i recommend this 100%, i swear that even if the tropes are not your cup of tea, please give it a try. i speak from experience, this book had everything to make me hate it, and i gave it a chance, and now i can say with every confidence that i. love. this. book. so yeah this is a good book, this is the perfect debut and you should read it!

what to say about this book.
it's not just about love and friendship.
it's about loss, hardships, things not said and things shouted without controlling them.
it's about anger, struggles, but also forgiving and baring your heart out, even when it hurts. especially when it hurts.
it's about children learning about how the world works and how hard it is to live in it.
it's about finding the strengh to ask for help, to find the courage to heal yourself, to admitting you're not okay, but you can be.
Secret love song was all that and more. the story is captivating, the characters are real and the setting made me feel like i was in a bubble by the ocean, looking at what was happening from above. like i was there with them. through it all.
Nova is the sun, the stars, everything that shines in this universe and Vincent is the deep blue sky, the wavy ocean in which the stars shimmer from above. they're written in the stars and in every song they listened to.
but what i appreciated the most was the fact that it wasn't just about their love story. it was about the group that came along the way. how every single chatacter is unique, has its own story and fits perfectly with the other. like they all were pieces of different puzzles that matched.

↳ ᡴꪫ ⸝⸝ oh my goodness this was so beautiful. and it pulled me out of my slump im just so in awe of how amazing this was. i wasnt bored for a single second and this book felt so real. it showed the messy and frustrating parts of all the characters but i still loved them. i can't wait to read about maggiesam i am very quickly becoming emotionally attached to all these characters.
💫 the characters 𓏲 ࣪₊♡𓂃 i love both nova and vincent so much. individually and together. they both brought out the best parts of each other. but oh my god in the past timeline my heart hurt so much for nova and the bullying she went through. like thats baby please leave her alone. and vincents self harming had me sobbing like FUCK IM SAD ALL OVER AGAIN. but also their nerdiness was so freaking cute, nova with her love for animals and media and vincent with his love for music <33 they remind me of lilylo so badly. i could go on and on about them theres all these small details that i just love about both of them but i fear i'd go over the character limit. I JUST LOVE THEM BOTH SO MUCH!!!

- maggiesam i am so ready for you. i love maggie a lot already and her dynamic with sam i can just tell they are going to deliver.
- AURORAMAX!!! THEY ARE SO CUTE!! like aurora is actually such a sweetheart and the quote where vincent said max only cared about music and aurora LIKE YESS IM SO HERE FOR THAT.
- steven made me a little annoyed but hes a complex character so i forgave him. im excited for him and holly too ive only seen one star wars movie but if theyre irl anidala i know they will be tea <33 as long as they dont have the same fate lol
- will is so silly!! i cant wait to see whats in store for him

i loved this book so much!! The writing was so good, specially for a debut novel. Even though i’m not a big fan of love triangles this story was perfect, the conflicts were so good and well done! i genuinely believe this is such a good book, and everyone should at least try to read! I LOVED THE FOUND FAMILY SO MUCH!!!! and the the last chapters will be living rent free in my mind forever.

I cried so hard with Vincent struggles, could relate a lot, and with Nova's also, the way she is so fierce on loving and never giving up on her people because she knows how worth they are, truly a masterpiece, thanks for sharing your writing with us.

ho amato la storia, le lacrime che ho versato ne sono la prova. Lacrime versate per le storie di Vincent e Nova, che sono dei personaggi che hanno vissuto TANTO (questo lo vediamo soprattutto grazie ai pov del presente e del passato) e che continuano a combattere contro il passato e soprattutto contro loro stessi. Questo li rende dei personaggi reali, con cui riesci facilmente a immedesimarti e strapparti i capelli per loro. Sono due personaggi fortissimi, che crollano come chiunque e che hanno bisogno il sostenersi a vicenda. Entrambi sono proprio destinati a stare insieme MA ho adorato come questo concetto non venga dato a inizio libro ma fatto capire mano a mano che si legge.
A livello di storia, questo è uno dei pochi libri con un salto tra presente e passato che non ho trovato fastidio, anzi era ben bilanciato. Unica pecca (che nemmeno lo è così tanto) è che verso la fine può sembra un pò un loop ma è una cosa minima.
Concludo ringraziando per l'opportunità di avermi fatto leggere questo libro come Arc e soprattutto se mi stai leggendo voglio leggere altri libri! Non puoi lasciarmi così

I loved the story, and the tears I shed are proof of that. Tears shed for the stories of Vincent and Nova, who are characters who have been through SO MUCH (we see this mostly through the POVs of the present and past) and who continue to fight against the past and, above all, against themselves.
This makes them real characters, with whom you can easily identify and tear your hair out for them. They are two very strong characters, who fall like anyone and who need each other's support. They are both truly meant to be together, BUT I loved how this concept isn't given at the beginning of the book but is made clear as you read.
Story-wise, this is one of the few books with a jump between present and past that I didn't find annoying; in fact, it was well-balanced. The only flaw (which isn't even that much) is that towards the end it can feel a bit like a loop, but that's a minor thing. I'll end by thanking you for the opportunity to let me read this book as Arc, and above all, if you're reading this, I want to read more books! You can't leave me like this.

so easily a 5 star read, i loved absolutely everything about this book! the plot was amazing, the characters were even better and for once there was nothing and noone giving me an ick. i went into the book with very low expectations, just coming out of a massive book slump, and fully expected the writing to be not so good to meh at best considering it was a debut, but i regret it all because this book was amazing and the writing, despite small (very occasional) spelling mistake which i didnt mind. i loved how the book was very friendship driven - (atleast one of) steven maggie and sam being in almost every chapter. i physically cant wait next year for siren sounds, i need it right now! i loved every character so incredibly much, even holly who only appeared for a few chapters at the end! top characters are a tie at maggie nova vincent and sam all at the top, i cant choose who i like more 🤣 normally i hate love triangle books, everything about them, but this was truely a once in a lifetime exception where i adored all 3 a part of it and needed them to just CHEAT already!!and yes, i understood and kicked my feet at every OC reference, my sister maggie better be getting marissa cooper allegations next year despite them not being too similar 🙂↕️

i was so excited for this book to come out and it did not disappoint! from everything i saw pre-release, i had a feeling this author put her whole soul into creating this world of characters and the product absolutely showed that. found family done so well, along with the characters themselves and the relationships. i loved the main girl nova--she just felt so real and that's what i look for in a character, especially the fmc. each characters aesthetic was perfectly curated and i can't wait to read more about them in their own books. for a debut novel that i believe was independently published, this was great.

this book had me suffering and stressing like omg (positive). both main characters drove me insane at times, but in a way i totally understood, they went through traumatic events so young that their behavior made sense… even if their push and pull was killing me lmao.
i really enjoyed the setting and the overall vibes. all the pop culture references, shows, movies, etc. made the characters feel real and grounded. plotwise, this is a strong debut, the concept is great, and the back and forth between present and past kept me hooked the whole time. the writing isn’t the best ever, but it still worked really well and held my attention.
excited to see more of the other characters in the next books <3 (max and aurora 👀)

For a debut, this is pretty well done! I could connect with Vincent and Nova but also with the side characters. The found-family aspect is very well executed, and honestly, their scenes together were some of my favorite parts to read!
I went through so many moods, from the sadness caused by reading about their traumas to how cute Vincent and Nova were since the very first time they met. The way they handled certain situations sometimes irritated or upset me, but I don’t see that as a bad thing, on the contrary, it means their decisions actually made me react. They were really sweet. I spent the whole book thinking about how cute they were. Also, it was pretty angsty, which is something I really LOVE to read!
As for the plot, I really liked the way it shows you both the present and the past. Both parts are very important to get to know the main characters and also their friend group. The childhood-friends-to-lovers trope is always well executed when you can see their entire development from when they were kids.
I’m left wanting so much more about NovaVincent and the core eight, especially Sam and Maggie, who are honestly the ones that intrigue me the most!

El childhood friends to lovers siempre está bien logrado si se puede ser todo su desarrollo desde pequeños.
Me quedo con ganas de leer más sobre NovaVincent y el core 8 en general. Principalemente Sam y Maggie que son los que más me intrigan con todos los crumbs que tienen en este libro!

i’ve wanted to read this for the longest time but prolonged it because of its length and tbh i loved every second of this. i swearrr i was going into a book slump but i finished this book in a day… i couldn’t put it down. the characters were so developed and fascinating with their own little interests. you can tell the author put her all into it. im so excited for the next book in the series!

La relación de Nova y Vicent se va contando desde el pasado que se conocen cuando tienen unos 10/11 años hasta el presente que tienen 22/23 años.
Vincent es adoptado y tiene mucha ansiedad, depresión etc por lo que vivió con su verdadero padre. Al principio no quiere juntarse con Nova para nada. Hasta que un evento en el colegio, les hace juntarse.
Nova en su casa tiene que lidiar con el odio que la tiene su madre, porque piensa que la ha destrozado la vida. Su padre se entera de todo pero es incapaz de hacer nada 💀 unos años después, tendrá un hermano, el cual su madre le meterá ideas malas de ella en la cabeza y los separará tambien durante años.
Se reencuentran un par de años después, pero Nova está de novia con un amigo que tenían los dos en la adolescencia. Ella está confundida, sabe que lo que tiene con su novio no es lo que siente (y sintió) por Vicent.
Vicent por su parte, está en tratamiento por depresión y no cree que merezca a Nova, ni ahora, ni nunca.
Nova le tendrá que dar un ultimátum, ver si él es capaz de reaccionar, o poner distancia de una vez por todas.
Se me ha hecho un poco bola tanto pasado y presente. Además que dejan un tema abierto y solo son felices como un capítulo, y hay libros de otras parejas antes de otro de ellos... 🫠

Ho divorato questo libro in un giorno intero. L’ho iniziato con calma, ma fin dai primi capitoli non sono riuscita a staccarmi dalle pagine, tanto da leggerlo per tutta la giornata.
Ho apprezzato ogni aspetto di questo libro, dai capitoli del passato a quelli del presente. Ammetto che la mia parte preferita è stata proprio la fine. Dopo aver sofferto con Nova e Vincent per tutto il libro, sono stata felicissima di vederli finalmente affrontare le loro paure e i loro problemi passati. La loro crescita e la loro rivincita sono state la parte migliore in assoluto.
Un’altra cosa che ho amato molto, e che mi fa venire una gran voglia di leggere i prossimi libri, è la found family che si è formata. È meraviglioso come un gruppo di persone, ognuna con i propri problemi da risolvere, sia riuscito a creare una famiglia così unita. Questo libro è il perfetto esempio della frase: l’amore vince su tutto.

I absolutely adore Nova & Vincent. They’re so sweet and care for everybody around them 🥹🥹 I love how even after Steven found out they were in love with each other, they still stayed friends, i feel like it’s really difficult to find books where 1 partner doesn’t let the breakup ruin their friendship, so i loved how they stayed friends and steven was supportive 🥹🫶🏼 The mental health rep was so well written, the relapsing, the refusing to take medication, hating everybody and yourself, therapy not working—Vincent broke me heart and so did Nova. I hope when their second book comes out we see Nova getting custody of Asher because i hate their mom and i hate vincent’s dad too🤬🤬🤬 I can’t wait for maggie & sam, they’re buzzy as hell and i love a yearner and mean girl 🫦🫦🫦🫦

I have mixed feelings about this one.
I really liked the characters and the tropes. It was heavy on mental health themes, but they were handled with care.
The pacing felt slightly off to me, though. I think the story could have been shorter without the reader missing much.
Also, I was craving more of their reconnection after four years apart.
But I hope we’ll see more of them in the next books.

ai gente nem sei…
eu gostei do casal, gostei da história e de todo o conceito mas pqp que escrita RUIM.
não achei que a autora conseguiu montar uma história coerente, quis colocar tanta coisa que parecia uma sopa de letrinhas. Tinha hora que era tanta coisa aleatória que surgia do nada que parecia q eu tava afogando.
Enfim acho que tem muito potencial mas esse storytelling precisa melhorar
