Fierce Attraction: An Alpha Male Mafia Romance

Rate this book
“Marry me, and I will keep you safe.”

I walked into my father’s study for a book…
And walked out engaged to a Mafia Don.

Giovanni Renzetti doesn’t take no for an answer.
Especially not from a girl like me…
Deaf. Mute. Flawed. Forgotten.

I’ve spent my life shrinking under my father’s contempt…
Until Giovanni looks at me like I’m his salvation and his sin.

He says he’ll protect me.
But who will protect me from him?

From the danger in his smile…
From the fire in his bed…
From the way he makes me feel seen—for the first time.

He’s darkness wrapped in power.
And now both he and the babies growing inside me are mine.

Whether I speak the words or not.

Great read. Reads fast and easy.
•No cheating
•Virgin h
•Instalove for H
•No separations other than her being taken
•No real om drama. little ow drama.
•HEA-married with kids
It was a very good read. I liked it.
I did get annoyed that she pushed away alot. I also wasn't a fan of his doubting her. I really don't think he apologized for that.

Thoughts:

1. When we first met Camilla, a long-time friend of Giovanni and Tommaso (the dads of the first two being friends and business associates) we're given a glimpse into Tommaso wanting her. Then boom, Lilian arrived and Camilla is welcoming in front of Giovanni but petty and hateful away from him. The reader "sees" how Camilla's eyes follow him, when she touches him it lingers, blah blah. And, in a discussion between Giovanni and Tommaso, that the former knows of her crush/feelings for him. It made no sense and seemed to only be brought in as a impulsive drama chase.
2. I appreciate the twins being named after Giovanni's younger brother and Liliana's mom.
3. I refuse to read Tommaso and Camilla's book. She wants (eye roll because I didn't buy it) Giovanni and Tommaso wants her. Yet it's mentioned about Tommaso keeping whores available to use and they're also referred to as his harem. Yeah, but he totally pines for Camilla. (Gag)

First I want to thank the author DC BEKS for giving me an ARC of this book.
I enjoyed this book.
Loved the romance between Giovanni and Liliana!!!
And I loved how he protected her in this book.
He fell in love with her when they first met and he didn't care that she was mute and partially deaf he loved her. And I loved that he didn't marry her because of Alessio he marry her because he fell in love with her. I hated Liliana's father Renato Marchelli and what he did to her and that he didn't care about her and he also didn't love her and gave her to Giovanni to settle his debts with him.
I loved Giovanni's Mamma and how she was with Liliana and that she knew how to sign to her.
I also didn't like Camilla in this book and how she was treating Liliana, but I started to like her at the end of the book. Loved Tomasso who worked for Giovanni and how he was with Liliana and he was also funny. I felt sad for Giovanni and his family who lost Alessio, (Giovanni younger brother) and that he took his life at the beginning of this book. And the reason why Giovanni and his family and staff knew sign language is because Alessio was mute and deaf. I loved Liliana's maid Maria and how she was with Liliana too. And I also liked how he made sure she ate food in this book and he also took care of her too. I also liked that he helped her with her speech. I hated Giovanni when he thought that Liliana was working with the bad guy Vittorio in this book but I am glad they got that figured out. Loved how they got pregnant with twins and he protected her and their babies.
I hated Vittorio in this book and what he did to Liliana and I was so happy when Giovanni came and saved her and their babies. And I am glad Giovanni killed her father in this book because of what he did and he also didn't deserve to be Liliana's father. And I loved that they got an happy ending together with their babies. And I also recommed this book. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

wowwww this book was wonderful. giovanni if mafia and finds out one of his dads men stole a lot of money from him. when he confronts him he discovers his daughter his deaf mute so he demands her hand in marriage in exchange for repayment of the debt. he sees her father treats her badly and wants to protect her. she isn't the shy timid girl he thinks and she demands concessions of her own before she'll agree to wed this stranger which giovanni agrees too. lilianna is shocked to discover everyone in her new home signs well and giovanni sticks to his word esp not forcing intimacy. slowly feelings start to creep in and some intimacy happens but then she thinks maybe it doesn't mean anything to him esp when another woman makes her feel less than worthy of him. she can't trust he's being honest because she feels so defective. bit by bit giovanni wins her heart as he treats her with tenderness, love, kindness and respect. never making her feel flawed or defective because he fell hard and fast. then enemies arise, another man tries to get lilianna because her father told him she would be his and he feels cheated, and she discovers she's pregnant. she's kidnapped and hurt and giovanni will do anything even walk into the fire to protect whats his, the love he never thought he'd find. will giovanni save her in time? will he lose his life trying to rescue her? will they find their way to loving each other? will the babies be ok when she's hurt after being kidnapped? will she learn to trust in the love giovanni says he has for her? great details, a disability handled beautifully in a sensitive yet strong manner showing a disability doesn't mean u are less of a person or deserve less happiness than others. that u can be just as strong, resilient, determined and feisty as anyone else. great characters and world building.

Giovanna's and Lilliana's story was unique in a genre that can become overly repetitive in plot. I really liked Giovanna's character and how he tried to protect Lilliana from her father and his trolls and tried to break through her self-loathing. It was never framed that way, but Lilliana had no self-esteem and was a puppet that was used by her father who had never strived for something more, for herself. She had few interests until she started spending time in Giovanna's gardens. She was like the whipped dog that stops responding to affection until Giovanna begins to bring her out of her shell. Both characters have histories they must unpack before they can move on. It was insta-love for Giovanna, while Lilliana was slow on the uptake. There is allot of two steps forward and one step back for these characters as they deal with the Mafia life and the underlying determination of Lilliana's father to overthrow Giovanna.

I wish Lilliana's character would have been more forth coming throughout much of the book instead of being a doormat. She does come around, but it takes time before she begins to get her inner voice back. There is so much she and Giovanna could have discussed had she not had her back up and had he not lost it when he thought she was behind her father's attempt to do away with Giovanna and his Mafia. She being deaf wasn't an obstacle as much as the fact that she could have used a cell phone or simple pencil and paper as well as signing to communicate.

Good story with solid characters and secondary characters.

Liliana and Giovanni

Sweet, angsty and emotional. Liliana is deaf and mute. Her father has contributed to her lack of self esteem and self worth. She signs to communicate and tries to ignore the bullying she always gets. She always expects it from people and just sits quietly and waits it out.

Giovanni falls for her almost immediately and decides to marry her. She goes from a home where she’s not respected to one where everyone signs and treats her like she’s worthy. She’s angsty and has doubts thatshe can trust Giovanni so he has to really work to get her to feel anything for him.

So much emotion, highs and lows. They’re both strong willed and stubborn but the love they have comes thru. They don’t really communicate much for about half the book but Giovanni opens up first and starts talking to her more and she learns to relax and trust him as time goes on.

I enjoyed the plot and the dual POVs. There’s some familial drama, but no cheating and really no 3rd act breakup. Love the epilogue.

When Lilianna walks into her father's study she had no idea that it would end in marriage for her. She has lived with the cruelty of her father and now thanks to the transaction between her father and the Don she is walking into another unknown hell. Betrayal and danger are lurking around the corner and Lilianna is caught in the middle. Will Giovanni's declaration of love and protection be enough for their love to blossom along the path to happiness. This action-packed story will have you caught in the drama from start to finish.

To start off, I really liked this book, but it did take time to get into it. I've read enough insta love and dislike the trope. Unfortunately, that's the trope used in this one. The getting to know and slow/quick burn that makes sense was missing. That didn't set a good tone for the story. The other part was the main male character needed a good dressing down in some parts. As for Liliana's father, well he shouldn't have been allowed to last as long as he did or have his debts forgiven. If we zero in on the emotional connection between Giovanni and Liliana only - that was a beautiful story. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Fierce Attraction is book 1 in the new Obsessive Don's series and is Giovanni and Liliana's intense, dramatic story. This book is an action filled story with fantastic characters and lots twists, turns, dangers and betrayals. Liliana has lived in hades with father and being handed off to a Don one can only imagine what hades she may have been passed on to. Fierce Attraction is a great edge of your seat read from start to finish.

A story written with such feeling

I couldn't help but get so drawn into this story. The characters were Interesting and complicated And the story line was 1 with many twists and turns in it. I like that 1 of the main characters had a Physical problem But was able to work through it I enjoyed each character who was well written and well rounded. When I 1st started reading this book I enjoyed it but the more I read the more I really got it into it and for me that's a win win

It was okay.

I loved the premise of Giovanni and Liliana’s story but it just wasn’t all I hoped for. Maybe it was just the writing style I found laborious to read. The writing was so descriptive to the extreme, in my opinion. Others may enjoy it but I skimmed through at least a third of the book just to finish. I think more than anything it was just not a writing style I enjoyed.

DNF @14%. I feel like these Mafia books with arranged marriages make authors lazy. It’s just too easy. Just like the pregnancy trope. This one was made worse by the H feeling way too soft for a mafia don and the h going from a fiery yet emotionally abused mute/hearing impaired girl, unsure if she wants to leave the familiarity of her emotionally abusive father’s home, to literally making out with the H on the altar a few days later. I just didn’t buy into either character.

Lilliana & Gio

Something about Lilliana's quiet strength drew me to her. Born deaf, her father calls her invalid, scorns her and blames her for her mother's death yet she is strong. Gio wants her the first time he sees her and so their love begins. I enjoyed this book so much and look forward to reading more by this author.

DNF I wanted to like this book so badly. It was so SLOW!!! Not only that the main guy was the least like a mafia Don I’ve ever read. He takes insults, he lets people who have been stealing from him off, he doesn’t retaliate in any way. I just couldn’t take it anymore. Plus, I understand that he was trying to be kind to his new wife, but it just went too far. I just couldn’t take it anymore.

Liked this book

A rollercoaster of romance that zigged when I expected it to zag, this book is so deliciously unpredictable that I'm practically forcing everyone within shouting distance to devour its pages. Trust me, you'll want to clear your schedule and buckle up for this literary adventure.

okay

Fierce Attraction by DC BEKS is okay. There are errors in editing with the characters physical locations in scenes that was disconcerting. Entertaining value; not a great deal of depth.

Not sure

This storyline was unlike any other book I've read. Because of the plot, it had me hooked to finish it in one sitting. I just expected more to the HEA. You're telling me that after three years, Liliana didn't get pregnant again. Spice and chemistry was great.

Did not finish this, so no rating. But for a deaf FMC, there are a lot of “I heard him say,” moments.

So confused, if she was deaf how could she hear? Maybe if I read more there was an explanation. But I just wasn't getting into the story
